Emelia’s POV
"Urgh," I let out a soft groan, placing my head on my forehead.
Blood. I was bleeding and the alcohol hasn't fully left my system yet. Slowly, I pushed the door open and stumbled out.
"Are you okay, ma'am?" An unfamiliar voice asked, finally making me realize the huge damage I had done. The front of my car was completely damaged, the same as the car I had crashed into.
"Geez, I did that?" I grumbled. "I'm sorry," I apologized, giving a quick bow. If the police were to get involved, I'd definitely be spending some time. And that’s the last thing I need, at least not after everything that happened tonight.
I felt a sharp pain in my chest, reminiscing about why I was in this entire situation. If only he didn't cheat on me, then I'd be happily preparing to get married, but that wasn’t the case now.
I bit my lips as tears gushed out of my eyes. More than anything, I wanted to stop crying for that jerk, but I just couldn't stop.
I spent seven years of my life loving myself until I realized that I was nothing but a fool. A fool for believing in him and a fool for trusting him.
"Are you okay?" The man whose car I had barged into asked, his tone laced with worry. But I just couldn't bring myself to answer, not when my heart felt like it's being shattered into pieces.
"Ma'am..."
"What's going on, Leo?" A cold voice was heard from inside the car, immediately sending shivers through my bones.
"I have no idea, sir," the man responded.
I raised my head, my ocean blue eyes staring right into a pair of green eyes. His brown hair was disheveled, and his aura... He was exuding an aura of confidence.
I took a step forward towards the brown-haired man—Isaiah Lyon, ruthless billionaire CEO of Lyon Enterprise.
I have seen his pictures in magazines, but I didn't expect him to be this breathtaking.
A human shouldn't look this handsome!
"What?" He said nonchalantly.
"You are Isaiah Lyon, right?" I mused, not breaking eye contact with him. I have never held eye contact for this long, and I'm guessing it must be because of the alcohol.
But still, there was something about those eyes of his, something that tapped me. I just couldn't bring myself to look away.
"You just crashed into my car. Leo will contact you to pay for the damages," he uttered, ignoring my previous question.
"You are Isaiah Lynn!"
"So?"
"I just broke up with my boyfriend," I found myself saying. Other than the fact that I have seen his pictures in magazines. I had no idea who he was, but still, I went ahead to tell him that.
'It's definitely the alcohol.'
"Why should I know that piece of information?" He questioned, completely uninterested in whatever it was I was going to say.
But then, he still hasn't turned around to leave.
And that must mean something, right?
"I dated him for seven years, you know?" I mused, recalling the first time I had laid eyes on him, the first time I had completely fallen in love with a complete stranger.
"I'm Emelia,"
"Emelia.” My name rolled off his tongue, the way he said my name, his brown eyes locking directly into mine, making me feel a surge of emotions I hadn't felt in years.
I nodded, biting my lips to stop my already growing smile.
Funny how you can fall head over heels for a complete stranger.
Our parents arranged this blind date when my mom informed me about it. I wasn't interested but only came here to satisfy her.
“You look beautiful,” he complimented. I wore a black simple dress that hugged my hips with minimal make-up.
A sharp pain spread across my chest, and once again I was forced to embrace reality.
The reality was that he cheated on me right on the night of our wedding. And heaven knows for how long he's been cheating on me.
"I feel like a fool, you know?" I cried, letting out the emotions I had been trying so hard to hide to be a complete stranger.
I couldn’t stop the tears from pouring out. "I have loved him for seven years.” I cried. “We were finally going to get married. I was finally going to be happy.”
But I trusted him. I trusted him, and I believed in him when everyone was damn sure he was going to break my heart.
A sad smile made its way to my lips. "He cheated on me right on the night of our wedding."
I raised my head, meeting Isaiah’s face. I knew he wouldn't care about what I was saying, but I couldn't tell myself; I needed to tell someone.
His eyes greeted mine with a cold gaze, his face completely expressionless, as if whatever I was saying was meaningless and a complete waste of his time.
I wasn’t expecting any form of sympathy, but nothing; his eyes were blank, void of emotions. It was more like I was talking to a statue than a real person.
"Turns out you were a fool then. A fool for loving a man for that long and for him to prove that your love for him was nothing but worthless." He uttered nonchalantly, his words sharp, piercing right into my soul.
"You..." I began.
"You are drunk.” He interrupted. “I’ll ignore this...“ he said, looking over at his car that I had just crashed into in a “little accident. Take it as a gift from me for your fail marriage
I let out a gasp, glaring at him. Was he serious?
A gift?
Could this be because his girlfriend recently broke up with him?
I mused, recalling a line I read about him breaking off with his longtime girlfriend.
"Take care," he said, turning to enter into the already opened car door.
Just then, a beautiful yet crazy idea left my mouth.
"Let's get married.”
Emelia’sPov"Let's get married,” blurted out, stopping him in his tracks.'What the hell are you doing, Emelia?'"What?!”"Let's get into a fake relationship." I rephrased, meeting his eyes once again. It was an insane request, but one thing I was more than sure of was that I needed to make Jeffrey regret what he did, and there's no better way to do that than getting into a relationship with billionaire CEO Isaiah Lyon."And what makes you think I'll agree to that?" He asked, raising a brow."Because you just broke up with your girlfriend, and I assumed you need a replacement." I said, giving a wide smile.“Well, you assume wrong,” he gave a straight answer."I need a man to be in a relationship with and he needs to pay for what he did, there's no better way for me to do that than to be in a relationship with you," he said, almost pleading."No.""Why?"“I have no interest in being part of your marriage catastrophe,” he replied coldly.“Please”.A deafening silence took over, and for

"The housekeeper will be back tomorrow; in the meantime, you have the house to yourself; feel free to do whatever you want.""Won't you be living here with me?" I asked."That'll be once in a while." "So, you plan on leaving me all alone here?""Yes, and I'm sure you'll get used to it.""But...""Leo will bring you the contract later. And right now, I need to be at a meeting," he uttered firmly. The car stopped in front of a carpet, and as we stepped out, flashes from cameras filled the air. Isaiah’s hand was carefully entwined with mine, guiding me through.
