Chapter 4

At the Apartment:

After Jake left, Kate was left off thinking, “how did he know my last name? I didn’t mention it to him, Kate said to herself".

While busy thinking about it, the door of the apartment opened just in time and an old woman greeted her. 

Good evening dear.  You must be Kate. The old woman greeted Kate with a warm smile on her face. 

Good evening to you too Mrs. ---- Campbell?

Yes its me Kate, the old woman replied.

What a beautiful lady you are.  Maurine is precise in describing you to me. Maurine is the one who contacted her and booked the place for her.  Come in my dear I will show you the apartment and please call me Martha. 

You're so kind Martha, thank you so much. I’m sorry to keep you until this time.  My flight schedule is late thats why. 

No dear, don’t be sorry I totally understand.. come in, Martha said to Kaye

Thank you Martha and she followed her inside the apartment. Martha showed her the parts of the apartment where she will be staying. Kate was very pleased with Martha's behavior towards her.  She felt her warm welcome. They went around the whole apartment and Kate was happy with the apartment’s great tidiness and cleanliness.  According to Martha, it is owned by a businessman who is alone in life, so he decided to just rent out his apartment. He owns five apartments in New York. Kate just smiled and secretly impressed with the owner of the apartment. Martha was one of the trustees of the owner of the apartment. She collects the fee and maintains the apartments.

When Martha left, Kate locked the door and entered her room.  She put her clothes in the closet and took a bath afterwards.  After taking a bath, she went to bed to rest because she was tired from the trip.  Luckily she still have a day off before reporting to her new job.

"Its good that I still have time to buy groceries and other things I needed at home".

As she rested,  she remembered Jake and the last thing he said -- her last name. 

"How could he know my last name, I didn't mention it to him", Kate thought to herself. While wondered how Jake knows her last name, she remembered what had happened in the plane and that laughing and the times they shared while sitting right next to each other.

He's a very handsome and a rich man, have a sense of humor, a gentleman and happy to be with.. Qualities that a lot of ladies are dying hard to get him exept me, Kate said to herself while pouting.

Why did I befriended with him? I must not. Man like him will just try to get me an once he get what he want, then he will just hurt me at the end eventually. I shouldn't trust him", Kate thought to herself.

Part of herself is angry while the other part is pleased for that little time they had shared. Kate fell asleep while thinking back about their moments in the airplane.

The next morning, Kate woke up to the cold air that touched her cheek. 

Ah, I forgot to close the window last night.  I'd better get up and take a shower so I can go to the grocery. I need to go around to familiarize myself with this place, Kate said to herself.

After Kate took a bath and got dressed, she headed for the door.  Wearing her winter capsule. A gray funnel neck pull over, black skinny jeans and white sneakers while carrying her white handbag and sunglasses, she looks like a sleek chic.

While walking, many men looked at Kate because of her beautiful face.  But Kate doesn't pay attention to them instead she continued strolling around New York. After she finished shopping for the things she needed at home, she went home.  When she got home, she got dressed and then faced the kitchen.  She arranged her purchases in the cupboard and in the fridge. She cooked fettucine alfredo which was one of her favorite and ate it after cooking. After she ate she went to the bathroom to took a hot bath. While enjoying her hot bath, she remembered Jake all of a sudden and it became a puzzle to her. She thought of him as a mysterious man.

After she showered, she put on the flesh cotton see through night gown. It looked good on her because the color matched her tone and make her body fit in. She decided not to wear a bra since alone anyway and not expecting anyone. Her nipples were molded to her night gown as well as the G-string was also quite visible. She looked at herself in the mirror and smiled because she was contented to see herself. She put some night cream on her face. Kate love to take care of herself as for her this is her way of thanking herself and its what her mom taught her to do when she became a teenager. her After she got dressed, she sprayed her favorite perfume. After spraying herself with perfume, she went to the bar area and poured wine into the wine glass. While on her way to the living room the door bell rang.  Kate thought, maybe Martha wants to say something. While carrying the wine, kate opened the door and was surprised by what she saw. Jake stood in front of her door. To her shock she almost dropped the wine glass she was holding. Fortunately, she was leaning against the door without Jake noticing it. Jake, on the other hand, his eyes were darted toward the erected nipples of Kate that’s showing underneath her night gown. He didn’t immediately speak when he saw Kate and her front.

Jake what are you doing here? Jake immediately looked up at Kate's face Instead.

Hi good evening. 

Good evening too Kate replied.

What are you doing here? Kate asked again the same question.

I just passed to see how you are.

I'm ok Jake.

Ok, are we speaking here by the door? Won't you even invite me in?  Jake replied with a smile on his face.

Kate was embarrassed so she invited him inside.

As they entered the living room. Kate smelled Jake’s perfume.

His perfume smell’s so nice, so masculine but mild and irresistible.

I will just change, said Kate.

No need, I wont take long.

She offered Jake a glass of wine instead.

Jake on the other hand looked at Kate as she walked towards the sofa after she gave him his wine.

She is so damn hot and gorgeous and smells so nice, Jake said to himself.

Kate hugged the throw pillow on the sofa to cover her chest.  Jake, on the other hand, averted his eyes as if he hadn't noticed.  Instead it looked around the apartment and said she got a nice apartment. Kate agreed with him. After they drank the wine Jake stood up and said alright, I will not stay long, I have a meeting still to attend. I just dropped by to see how you are. Thank you for letting me in and for the wine, Jake said with a smile on his face but immediately became serious and said you look gorgeous in your night gown.

Kate blushed and too late to control herself. Instead she said, “Thank you Jake.

Have a nice evening Kate, Jake said with a meaningful look.

You too Jake.

I will, Jake replied with a smile oh his face.

After Jake left, Kate closed the door and then headed into the bedroom. She set the alarm before she lay down in bed. Kate recalled the scene she had with Jake earlier in the living room. He is handsome face, his lean muscular body that his white long sleeves cannot hide and he smells good. Who  wouldn’t like him.  His dreamy eyes and his natural red lips and cute dimples. While she was daydreaming, she suddenly touched her chest and she remembered her embarrassment earlier because she didn't have a bra and underneath and her clothes were too thin and anyone can see it through. She got angry with herself. She didn't want Jake to think she was trying to temp him. Ugh, I hate it!  Why does he just pop up like mushroom. Hey Kate stop this madness, better sleep since you need to report to the office tomorrow morning, she said to herself. Before she sleep she made her clothes ready for tomorrow.
