Chapter 82

Daniel's pov

"Ready to go home?" I asked Maya as soon as the closing bell rang.

"Very," she said with a sigh. She looked about done with everything and I didn't blame her.

Yesterday and Today weren't her best days. Not only had she just found out about Micah's disgusting bet with his friends, she'd also been the topic of conversation.

Everyone in school was talking about her.

The only good thing was that nobody knew about the bet, only that I had punched Micah for her and she'd broken up with him.

I offered up my hand and she took it and pulled herself up.

Her hands felt so soft in mine that I didn't want to let go at first…

We walked out of the school building and towards my car in the parking lot. I could see the cloud of sadness surrounding her.

All eyes were on us as we walked hand in hand.

Things were going according to my plan.

Micah was more or less finally out of the picture and spiralling.

Last I heard, he had punched Juliet.
