Chapter 85

AUNT GOMEZ POV

I paced about the kitchen, feeling bad about how I had spoken to Maya.

She was just a kid and was forced to always run away. I would be upset too if I had to move out of a pack every other day.

I felt bad for her. Poor kid just wanted stability but because of who she was, she could never get that. She was cursed to always hide or run.

I cringed at the memory of what I had said to her. I had been so upset, I had said some mean things to her. I needed to apologize to her somehow. She didn't deserve to be spoken to like that.

Maybe I could make it up to her somehow, she didn't deserve to be going through any of this.

I could take her to the mall or something but after she'd cooled off. I'd give her an hour or so to process things.

I decided to clean up while I wait, the kitchen was in need of scrubbing and I've always been a stress cleaner.

After an hour of cleaning, I went upstairs to shower and freshen up.

Once I was done, I made my way over to Maya's door and knocked.
