Ch. 88 PROOF

Alpha James’s POV

Michael stepped forward, gripping my arm and whispering urgently. "Brother, I beg you, don't provoke him. He is far too dangerous, and besides, you didn’t believe the child was yours in the first place, just let him take them away."

I tugged my hand free, glaring at him. "I'm no coward, this is my pack, I won't tremble in the face of anyone."

Marcus's deep, rumbling voice cut in. "Your brother speaks wisely, Alpha James. You'd do well to heed his advice."

Narrowing my eyes, I barked an order to my warriors. "Seize him. Throw this trespasser out of my packhouse."

The warriors hesitated, exchanging wary glances, as if they were scared of Marcus.

Marcus simply chuckled, shaking his head. "I won't fight you, boy," he drawled, his tone mocking. "But you'd be wise to step aside, in case you embarrass yourself in front of your pack."

I followed his gaze, taking in the fearful, trembling expressions of my pack members. Gritting my teeth, I signaled my warriors to stand down.
