Ch. 87 THE TRUTH

Alpha James’s POV

My mother rushed to my side as I was still on my knees, clutching the damning DNA results. Grasping my hands, she urged me to rise.

"It's not your fault, son," she soothed, her voice soft. "Your wolf felt that way because you didn't believe the child was yours in the first place. But now you know the truth, this is your heir, your legacy."

Swallowing hard, I nodded mutely, forcing myself to my feet. "I... I need to get ready," I mumbled, already turning towards the stairs.

As I climbed, Davin's voice echoed in my mind, extremely bitter. "What are you going to do about Carol now? You fool, you should have kept your promise to Emily!"

"Shut up," I hissed, pressing a palm to my temple. "I don't want to hear your hateful nonsense, sometimes I regret having you as my wolf."

Davin's growl reverberated through my head. "I am a part of you, whether you like it or not. And I won't let you forget the betrayal you have committed."
