BLAIR’S POV

I ran straight to home I knew, the attic, dialing Kieran first.

“Hey, I think I have the solution to both our problems,” I said,

“Both our problems?” he expressed confusion,

“I think Jane has something she is not saying, and I need to find out what it is,” I said,

“Jane?” He sounded perplexed,

“She is not my mother,” I immediately cleared the air,

“Now, focus,” I pushed my words with authority,

“In two days from now, my father would be returning to the hospital for a checkup,”

“I never have access to my parents’ room, but leave that to me,”

“You will stall my mother,”’ that immediately felt wrong the moment it left my mouth.

“Jane,” I instantly corrected,

“You will stall Jane as long as you can, while I find your file and every other evidence I would need,”

Kieran was quiet for a while and I wasn’t sure if he was growing cold feet on the plan, or if he just needed time to digest it.

“Kieran?” I called,

“Kieran, are you there?” I asked.
