Deandra’s POV
Daniel was waiting for me when I got back. “Where were you?” he fired as soon as I walked into the room but I ignored him, my mind swirling with thoughts of that mystery man and just how much he knew about my life with Daniel. “I’m talking to you,” Daniel yelled and I scoffed, rising to my feet to acknowledge him. “You shouldn’t take that tone of voice with me, especially since you’re at fault.” At my words, he frowned but I wasn’t going to give him time to construct words that would soothe my mood like he always did. I pulled the pictures out from my phone, thanking the stars I had bothered to save them. “How could you do this to us?” I screamed, throwing the phone against his chest. He caught it and stared at the screen; surprise evident on his face. “How did you….? How long have you known?” I scoffed and shook my head. How was that the most important question right now? “is that all you’re going to say about that?” I asked him, the disgust I was feeling evident in my voice. I expected him to be sober, and sorry for what he had done but instead he was acting like he had done a good thing. He sighed. “I didn’t mean for you to find out this way,” He tried to look concerned for me but I was buying it. “Hope is pregnant for me and I am sorry I didn’t tell you earlier but you were already stressed with not having kids of your own I didn’t want to put that on you,” “But it was okay to sleep with her because it wouldn’t stress me?” Daniel scoffed and rose to his feet. “Look Deandra, I’m sorry you had to find out this way about Hope but I don’t see this as a bad thing. If anything, Hope is giving us a chance to be parents since you…” he trailed off but I heard the words he didn’t say, loud and clear. Since I couldn’t have children. It was laughable because standing there looking at him, I was carrying his child and he didn’t even know it. The joke was on him. “I need you to start seeing Hope as a sister. Take care of her like you’d take care of Cassie. I didn’t mean for things to happen this way but now that they have, there’s nothing I can do about it. We simply have to find a way to coexist as one big family. Besides, the mother is so excited for her grandchild.” I rolled my eyes, of course, Yolanda was excited. “Where does that leave us Daniel?” I asked the million-dollar question and he stood there staring at me, his mouth opening and closing without words coming out. “I don’t…” he started to say at the same time I opened my mouth to announce the pregnancy but we were both interrupted by a hasty knock on the door. “Come in,” A maid walked into the room, her steps hasty and I frowned. “What is it?” “I am so sorry to disturb you Luna, Alpha, but Miss Hope sent me to find you. “she spoke, turning to face Daniel. “She’s in a lot of pain and might have to go to the hospital.” “The baby, something is wrong with the baby,” he whispered and ran out of the room, the maid following him from a distance before I got the chance to ask any further questions. Tears pricked my eyes but I held them at bay refusing to give in to my emotions. They would never see me weak. It’s my fault anyway and perhaps if I had just told him that I was also carrying his child then maybe he’d be just as concerned for my well-being. Despite how badly I wanted to stay strong, a few stray tears slipped past my defences and rolled down my cheeks. I sighed and slumped on the bed, giving in to them. The sobs racked my body and my heart broke even more with each tear that fell. I was distracted by the sound of footsteps in the room indicating that someone else had joined me. Wiping my eyes clean discreetly, I rose to my feet and frowned when I saw who it was. “Hope? But I thought….” She didn’t give me time to finish before she lunged at me, grabbing me by my hair and forcing me to rise to my feet so she didn’t pull my hair out. “Don’t you feel embarrassed to be living here still when you can’t even have children? Aren’t you ashamed?” I managed to set my hair free from her clutches and stood straight, glaring at her. I didn’t want to have to put my hands on her but if she forced my hand then…. “Hope, what is the meaning of this? I thought you were in pain.” “Leave here already, go so Daniel and I can live like a family with our child. Your presence is suffocating.” I chuckled bitterly and glared at her. “Aren’t you ashamed that you had to get pregnant to trap my husband? Don’t you feel embarrassed that he wouldn’t have come to you otherwise?” My words got to her and I smirked, glad I had hurt her even just a tiny bit. “I am going to tolerate you for Daniel’s sake but don’t get too comfortable, pregnancies can be lost.” I reminded her as I started to walk away. “You bitch, did you just threaten my child?” She tried to reach for me but I swerved out of the way in time and she missed me, her hands falling to her side. She glared at me and made a move to leave but then we heard footsteps, no doubt it was Daniel coming to find Hope who was supposed to be in pain. “He will always pick me over you, watch, “and she fell to the ground without being pushed and screamed. I gasped, watching the scene before me in confusion. What did she think she was doing? “Deandra, what happened?” Daniel asked, his voice full of concern for me until he saw Hope on the ground and his countenance changed. “Did you push her?” And without waiting for a response, he continued. “How could you do that Andra, knowing that she’s pregnant?” I watched in disbelief as he bent down to pick her up from the ground with Hope faking an injury. I felt tears filling my eyes again but I forced them back not wanting them to see how much their actions were affecting me. “She threatened to harm our child. All he did was ask her to accept me as her family.” Hope cried, resting her head against his chest as she faked a sob. I shook my head not believing the events that were playing here right before my eyes. Was Daniel falling for this? She wasn’t that good an actress. “I am so disappointed in you Andra, so disappointed.” He whispered and the tone of his voice nearly broke my resolve but I held it in, refusing to give into my emotions no matter how hurtful his words were. They were like little knives piercing my heart and yet I refused to give in. “If you don’t start seeing Hope as part of our family, I will have no choice but to kick you out to protect my child.” I stared at him with a shattered heart.Deandra’s POV“I told you not to come here, we can’t be seen like this.” I stopped in my tracks and hid behind a wall wondering who Hope was talking to. “Hope, that’s my child in there and you know it.” I gasped a bit too loudly and caught myself just in time before I was discovered. “Keep quiet,” Hope hissed and looked from left to right. This shameless woman, I thought as I listened to their conversation. I should have known the baby wasn’t Daniel’s but he had been so confident that the child was his that I never suspected anything. “If anyone hears you, our plan will be ruined.” She looked around again before she leaned in and whispered, “I want what’s best for this child and so do you so why don’t you just take the money and leave?” I shook my head in disgust at that and left my position behind the wall ready to go and confront her when I heard footsteps coming from the opposite direction. I could practically hear Hope’s heart racing loudly in her chest “Andra, what are you
Deandra's POVEvery fiber of my being was at alert as I stared at Hope.Something felt off.I was confused by the new turn of events but I didn't want to read too much into it either."What's in it?" I asked, feigning interest and she smiled.“It's something I took before I got pregnant. I hear it's very good for pregnancy.""Oh you should have that instead. Lord knows you need it." Yolanda added eagerly, an insult buried somewhere in her words and I sighed looking to Daniel for help."Just take it. You never know what might be useful." He said his tone innocent and I almost cried. He wasn't aware of what these people around him were capable of."Go on," Hope urged and my suspicion grew. Why was she so eager for me to drink it?"Look, I didn't put anything in it." She defended as she reached for another glass I hadn't noticed before. "I made a cup for myself just in case you had doubts."Daniel frowned and I sighed. She was trying to create a rift between Daniel and I again and this t
Deandra povThe human world was very different from what I thought it would be like, they were very accommodating and I almost forgot about my species. “Andra, why are you seated here?” Ryder asked me when he got back from a business meeting.“I had a lot on my mind so I came here to cool it off.” I replied to him as we both went into the house. It's been a very emotional period for me, thinking about the things that happened in the pack and how my once-happy family turned sour. “Are you still thinking about him?” Ryder asked as we both sat on the couch. “It's hard not to.” I replied almost immediately. The only thing that I could think of is how to get back at him for what he put me through. I want him to go through pains just like I did and as for Hope, I'll make sure she goes through hell.“It's fine, I know it's hard for you to move on after all that has happened, I just need you to be calm.” Ryder advised me. Ryder had been the one calming me down so that I don't end up doing
Deandra povIt’s been months now since I moved out of Ryder’s mansion. It hasn’t been easy struggling all by myself but I have to do it because I want to do everything myself and not depend on anyone.“I need to work this time.” I muttered to myself as I was all dressed up for another job hunting. I walked out of the room and headed to the kitchen where I made a quick breakfast so I could eat before leaving the house. It was just me in the house, I couldn't believe I had to do everything on my own. I placed my hand on my belly because if my baby was still there I would have been expecting him/her to be my next best friend.Sadly the monster made me lose my baby. I decided not to ruin my mood by thinking about Daniel and my baby because remembering everything always ruins my mood and I don’t want it to ruin my mood this morning.I was done with my breakfast so I rushed out of the house and entered a bus. While on the bus I sat down and placed my head on the window hoping for good luck
Deandra pov“I got the job!” I screamed on the phone. Ryder was quiet for a moment after hearing what I said, I wasn’t expecting such a reaction from him over the phone.“Are you there Ryder?” I asked.“Hey, it’s good news. I mean, it’s a good thing, now you can live comfortably.” He said to me, sounding very unenthusiastic. I know why he wasn’t happy ahd I wasn’t going to push him to say more. He’s been trying to convince me to live with him but I have refused which is the reason he’s sounding like that.“Ryder, you’ve done a lot for me, even without knowing much about me, which is why I chose not to be a burden to you anymore and see, I got the job.” I said to him trying to convince him to be happy with me.“I understand you Andra.” I let out a soft smile and ended the call. While heading back home I was very excited. Stopped by the store and bought some things for myself. It felt good because for a moment I could finally forget the hurt I’ve been nursing. The night view in the huma
Writer’s povIt’s been more than one week now and Andra is yet to find her bracelet. The situation has been giving her sleepless nights and has stopped her from associating with people so she doesn't lose control.Ryder has been her safe space and the only one she communicates with very well.“Andra, report to my office now.” Edna yelled angrily. Andra was trying not to get pissed because that would only cause her problems. She swallowed her anger and stood up from seat.“What is this nonsense!” Edna yelled angrily. Since the day Andra was hired Edna has hated her because she thinks Andra is snaky and always try to get things the easier way.“This is the exact thing you told me to do.” Andra tried to explain.“You know what I despise about you? It's how you always go about everything the easiest way.” Andra rolled her eyes angrily when she heard the same line for the hundredth time. Edna keeps repeating the same thing.“It is an easy task already, how else do I solve it?” Andra asked
Daniel pov “Mom!” I shouted at the top of my voice after looking around and Hope was nowhere to be found. “Daniel, why are you calling my name like that?” She asked angrily and walked to the sitting room where I was. “Where is Hope?” My mom sat on the couch with her legs crossed, she pretended like she didn’t hear what I said. “Why are you asking me that kind of question, am I her keeper?” My mom’s reply made me know that there was something wrong. They must have done something to her that’s why she’s nowhere to be found. “Mom, if I find out you did anything to her I will not be kind to you.” I said to her and walked away from the sitting room. I summoned all the maids to the sitting room. After asking them several times no one could tell me where she was. I felt like I was losing my mind already. Just when I was about heading upstairs I sighted her walk in with some bags, she looked dirty, even the maids looked better than her. “Hope where you're coming from looking like
Writer’s povHope has turned into a shadow of herself since she got married to Alpha Daniel. Even the maids treat her like she’s one of them because of the way Alpha Daniel and his family treats her. After dinner everyone headed back to the room except Hope who was still in deep thought, she still can’t believe what’s going on.She lowered her head and placed her hand on her head tiredly. She was happy about coming into the family when his wife left but now it seemed like the worst decision she has ever made. She can't invite her friends over or go over to them, because life was so much better for her before she met Alpha Daniel.“What am I doing to myself?” Hope asked herself. She decided that the only way she might have a place in his heart is by getting pregnant. Hope placed her hand on her belly, her eyes were filled with desperation, she has never wanted anything this badly.“This is my only way out.” Hope concluded with her hands still on her belly. She headed back to the room a
Deandra’s povWhen Aliya was out of the house I couldn’t help but worry, I kept checking the time but there was no sign of Aliya yet. “Are you okay?” Clarissa asked the moment she got downstairs. She could tell from the look on my face that there was something bothering me.“I really don’t know anymore.” I said to her and placed my hand on my head before sitting on the couch. Clarissa also sat down and looked at my face. “Is this about Aliya?” Clarissa asked and without wasting time I nodded my head. “I really don’t know what happened, but she sounded really upset when we were talking, it felt like I don’t know her anymore.” I explained to Clarissa hoping to get an advice from her on how to handle the present situation. “Are you sure you haven’t done anything to upset her?” Clarissa asked. “None that I know of.” I replied to her almost immediately, I was completely confused and blank headed the more I tried to think about What happened. “Maybe you aren’t aware but she is, so I t
Writer’s povWhen she was done looking at her face through the mirror she finally summoned the courage to step out of the room. She needed to hear some things from her brother, she needed to know the truth, why he left her and why he didn’t say anything to her before leaving the house that night. She’s been in the dark for years waiting to get all the answers she needs from Leo and now that she has the opportunity to get the answer from him she can’t miss it. When Aliya got to the sitting room she met Andra walking down the stairs. Aliya rolled her eyes the moment she sighted Andra because she knew that they would have to talk about her brother again.“Are you sure about this?” Andra asked Aliya the moment she got closer to her. Aliya brushed her hair backwards with her hand and turned to look at Andra. It felt really hard for her to be cold to Andra but based on the plan that she had with Ryder she has to do the right thing. “Sure about what exactly?” Aliya asked. “Why are you b
Deandra povSeeing their reaction towards Emma made me feel bad for her, I wish I could say something to them but I had to control myself from talking or saying anything that'll make them even more pissed because from the look of things they really dislike Emma. We quietly ate without saying anything to each other. I kept stealing glances at her and I could tell she was not okay, she seemed fine but didn't look at it. Her lips were too pale. “Are you sure you don't need to see a doctor?” I asked her feeling a little worried about her. I really didn't feel good seeing her like that. She seemed really uncomfortable with the way I kept asking if she was okay. “I'm fine Luna Andra.” She replied to me sounding pissed. I could immediately tell from her tone that she was upset already. I didn't say anything to her again after seeing the way she reacted to the question I asked her. She seemed to have a lot on her mind, and it was obvious from the way she was quiet. When we were done eat
Deandra's povAfter walking out on Ryder I paused walking the moment I was out of the room then I covered my mouth with my hand struggling not to cry because the whole thing was messing with me mentally. I now have issues with Ryder almost all the time. We barely have a normal couples conversation that goes well, we always end with a misunderstanding which is beginning to irritate me. I brushed my hair backwards with my hand as I folded my hands angrily. I just want everything to end and go back to normal. I headed downstairs gently and the moment I got downstairs met Aliya looking like she was in deep thought and she stood in front of the door. I could tell there was something wrong with her from the way she was standing. “Aliya.” I tried calling her but she didn't respond to me. I called her several times and decided to go closer to her then I tapped her on her shoulder, it was then she turned to look at me. “What is wrong with you Aliya?” I asked curiously, because it was obviou
Writer’s povWhile Emma was still trying to put the room in order Andra walked in. Emma was shocked she entered the room without waiting for permission. Their eyes met and they stared at each other for a while without knowing what to say. “Sorry, I..I was worried because you weren’t saying anything.” Andra said and scratched the back of her neck confused. She realized she acted on her impulse, she should have waited for Emma to give her the permission to go in first. “Ohh, you were worried about me?” Emma asked and let out a soft smile, while smiling she slowly realized the reason why she’s in the house and why she shouldn’t be too excited. Her smile slowly faded as she picked the last thing on the floor and stood up. Instead of talking more Andra walked inside and sat on the bed worried. “Why are you here? You look worried.” Andra turned to look at Emma when she heard what Emma said to her. “It’s about what you said to me earlier, you talked about having proof right?” Emma was e
Writer's povAliya and Ryder came to a conclusion of finding out what Emma's mission is and the reason why she has been hanging around Andra. They couldn't help but think there's a motive behind everything she has been doing. While they were having the conversation by the pool side Emma sighted them and headed to where Andra was. The new mission she was sent on is something completely unexpected and once she succeeds with this she will finally reunite with her daughter.“I have to succeed this time.” She muttered to herself. “Emma.” Andra called her when she was lost in thought, she snapped out of her thought immediately and let out a fake smile. “I was a little lost back there after what I saw few minutes ago.” Emma stared at Andra’s face afreement telling her something that'll bother her, she was hoping Andra would be interested in knowing what she saw back there. “What did you see that made you look so puzzled?” Emma was happy to hear that Andra cared to ask about it. “Nothin
Ryder’s povThere was so much going on at the same time. There’s Andra being extremely aggressive towards the situation of our kids being missing and her sudden possessiveness towards Emma which I cannot understand even though I want to.“Andra you’re taking this thing too seriously, I didn’t say anything about your family or how you had to lose some family members.” I said to her calmly trying to calm her down with my tone, just maybe she would stop yelling.“You know what I’m talking about stop trying to act like the good guy here, can’t you see you’re suspecting an innocent lady?”I was trying to keep my calm even though I had a lot of questions to ask her. “What makes her innocent? How are you sure she’s innocent like you claim?” I wanted to ask her questions like that but judging from the way we’re going back and forth with this topic already I just want it to end and let her give up on being so annoying.“It’s fine, if you think she’s innocent then that’s on you.” I said to her
Deandra pov After the news it felt like my airflow was restricted. I couldn’t breathe properly, at this point I wanted to scream for help. “What could have gone wrong?” I kept asking myself as we headed out of the house to go check the baby that was found dead. So many thoughts clouded my mind. “It’s not ours right?” I asked Ryder who seemed lost in thought. He turned to look at me and nodded his head. He was obviously hoping the baby wasn't ours, I could tell from the look on his face. My finger was in my mouth, I couldn’t stop biting it nervously hoping we would get to our destination sooner. After a long ride we finally arrived at the hospital where the baby was rushed to. I couldn’t step out of the car, I wanted to go in but I just couldn’t. Ryder was on his way in when he noticed I wasn’t going with him. He walked back to the car and held my hands. My legs were shaking. I haven’t spent time with any of them yet, they are still so young that I just can’t let go of any
Writer’s pov Good day mom.” Daniel greeted Yolanda with a bright smile on his face as they sat on the little dining table they were able to make. “The new dinning will be here today.” Daniel announced to his mother when she found a place where the dining room they were using was broken. “That’s good news.” She said and picked her cutlery so she could dig in. While they were eating no one said anything. Yolanda had a lot to say but she was prevented from saying anything because she didn't want it to ruin her mood this morning. “Do you really not care to know how my visit went?” Daniel asked his mother and she angrily slammed her fork on the dinning table, causing it to have a longer mark. Daniel stared at his mother’s face, he knew she was angry because it was very obvious. But he still needed to hear her honest opinion rather than having her not say anything. “What do you want to hear?” She asked angrily with her teeth clenched. Daniel rubbed his head slowly because his m
