I marched out of the room, leaving Courtney behind. Nothing made sense anymore, and I needed to escape from my ugly reality. While Courtney was in the room, I stood on the long empty hallway with one hand resting on the door, and the other hand on my waist.

Without much contemplation, I left, and I marched into Maria's study. I reserved a room just for her because she loved books a lot. Walking into the room felt different in a bad way. My heart was heavy, and I was angry at the same time. I had never really forgiven her for her death. We could have had other babies.

"Fuck you!" I yelled, knocking down the books on the table. Then I slammed my hand so hard on the table, causing a dent on it. My hand tingled a little, but I didn't care.

For years I had preserved everything she had. Her room was taken care of daily like she would return someday, and all her instruments were preserved. Sometimes I wonder if she looked down at me, and if she did I wonder how she feels. Everythin
