Shaving

Farrell:

Courtney pulled away from the hug, then she stared at me for a while, before placing her hand on my cheek.

"When last did you have a clean shave?" She asked.

I had looked at myself in the mirror, but I barely noticed I looked like shit. Life was taking a toll on me but I had no idea, but it was too easy for her to notice.

"Let's get that cleaned up," she said, and then she took my hand.

She held my hand and walked me out of the study. As we walked down the hallway, my mind flashed back to the time Courtney saw me after Maria passed. I looked like a homeless caveman. My beards were overgrown, and for months I wouldn't speak to anyone. That was when she offered me therapy, and here she was again, rescuing me as if she was my mother.

We got to my room, and she pulled the door open, and we walked in.

"Change, and I'll be with you shortly," she said to me, sitting on my bed. Then I walked to the closet.
