The next day, I dressed up for work as usual. When I was about to leave, I heard Kate on the phone with Larry. As usual I felt a waiver of disgust in my stomach. I left in a hurry because I didn't want to get into any trouble with Larry. I got into a taxi and headed to my workplace.

As soon as the taxi stopped in front of the building, I heard my stomach rumble.

"Here," I said to the driver, and then I gave him the fare money.

I decided to make my way down the street to get some snacks, and coffee since I didn't have breakfast. When the taxi left, I made my way across to the coffee shop.

I pulled the door open, and the little bell on top rang then I walked in, allowing the sweet smell of the brewing coffee to fill my nostrils. Shutting the door, I walked towards the counter to make my order.

"Hello, and how may I help you?" The man at the counter asked with a smile on his face.
