THE TRUTH COMES TO LIGHT

SERENA RINALDI’S  POV~

Just as I reached the foot of the cliff and had signalled Julius, I heard a screech and then a scream.

The voice I heard was my sister's Iscream. I turned to see the silhouette of two men falling into the ocean below, and then a loud splash followed.

“Mateo!” Julius yelled before leaping in front of me and running toward the foot of the cliff.

“Oh GOD! Julius, you need to get Ariana please” I begged him, he stood there frozen in horror.

Unbelieving what he had just seen.

He didn't move, he stood there for a long time and I knew he was over the shock.

So I helped him wake up. 

I walked to where he was and I slapped him hard across the face, “Get yourself together old man, Don Argento will soon figure out his son is dead, we need to get Ariaana out now!” I cried.

“Yes you are right, she’s carrying his heir, she must return home”

He nodded and swiftly started his journey up the cliff.

I paced around in anxiety.

I couldn't believe she came for me, I thought I didn't matter to her.

I watched Julius start his journey up the cliff, moments later he had disappeared out of sight.

I waited anxiously for him to reappear but he didn't.

Crazy thoughts started to race through my mind.

What if Ariana fell over too?

A large number of what-ifs followed suit.

Later I heard a gunshot and I turned toward the sound.

I saw Julius coming down the Cliff with Ariana.

I quickly started the car and waited for the both of them to jump in before zooming off, breaking through the gates like a lunatic getting out of jail.

“Shit is, are you okay?”  I asked handing the wheels to Julius mid-drift.

She didn't say anything, her body was still in shock and she kept mumbling to herself.

Julius zoomed off like a madman, bullets bounced off the car like popcorn.

“Not this time you motherfuckers!” Julius exclaimed.

“Bulletproof! Not making that mistake twice, I've got you Ariana” he said looking back before pumping the gas and dashing off.

Soon we had driven off to safety, and not long after we had been moved to one of Mateo's Safe houses.

Julius’s nephew welcomed us, he was tall and had an unusual haircut for a man.

I didn't care, whatever worked for him.

Ariana didn't speak the whole ride home, she went mute, her eyes wide open and still very much in shock.

“Ariana?” I called softly, before placing her on the bed gently.

Instantly she started bawling her eyes out, tears streamed down her cheeks uncontrollably.

“He is gone Serena, oh my God mateo, he is gone” she kept muttering over and over again.

I gathered her into my body and held her close, I had never had this kind of closeness with any of my siblings.

None of them had ever stuck their head out for me.

And now my sister’s heart is breaking, because she decided to come back for me.

“Im so sorry Ariana,” I whispered before stroking her hair.

She kept muttering as the tears flowed endlessly, they had always had a weird connection between them, growing up with them I knew it was a matter of time before one of them fell for the other.

Mateo and I didnt converse much, he had never been a brother to me, he hated us just as much as we hated him.

That was why Luna and I tried to get Father to send him out, but he ended up sending Ariana away.

She cried for a long time before she finally burned herself out and slept off.

I tucked her and I hoovered around for a while to make sure she slept.

I watched her sleep soundly, taking calm breaths in and out before leaving her room.

As I closed the door, I ran into Julius’s nephew, I almost fell but he grabbed me before I could tip over and pulled me close to his chest.

I watched his frame relax as he balanced me on my feet.

The hair on his open chest tempted my eyes, and I couldn't unsee them when I saw how aesthetically appealing they were sitting on his unbuttoned chest

“Serena right?” he asked, touching my arm gently, his deep brown eyes peering into mine, I took a whiff of the masculine scent and I could feel my body tingle in excitement.

I stepped back away from him after I realised the side of my top had ripped and a portion of my skin was exposed, I quickly covered myself with my hand.

 “you should watch where you are going sir,” I said softly, I avoided his gaze and before he could say another word I walked away. 

“We are leaving in the morning, I just came by to tell you that!” I heard him call behind me but shame hurried my legs faster.

As I hurried off I stumbled into a room where Julius and a very beautiful woman stood discussing,  another woman standing behind her, she was in tears and her body was shivering with shock.

I recognized her.

Becky Saunders, Mateo’s fiancee, is finally awake from her fucking Coma and here to disturb my sleeping sister.

“My love, I had to bring her, I couldn't keep her out anymore, it has blown up,” the woman said touching Julius’s chest.

“Hi” she sniffled, “you remember me right, im Becky” she called out amidst tears, yeah I do remember her, I remember Mama asking us to play nice in case we needed her.

‘Yeah,” I replied weakly.

“I don't know what’s going on Serena, everything is all sounding fucked up, I woke up and they are telling me my bunny married someone else, and he jumped from a plane and he did a bunch of crazy stuff chasing some guy for her, and now Julius is telling me he is dead! What the hell Serena” she cried running to me and wrapping her hand around me.

I pulled her off me slowly with a weak smile, “Yeah stuff like that, so sorry Becky, it's been a whole lot of craziness I know but that’s not what Ariana needs right now, …”

“Ariana?” she asked, sniffling, “what’s happened to Ariana?” she asked again.

I sighed and turned to them, I placed my hands on my hips in displeasure.

“Are you kidding me? No one told her who Don Mateo Married?” I asked.

They both looked away and I shook my head in disbelief.

“It's Ariana, she’s his wife and she’s pregnant with his heir” I finally said.

Instantly Becky's face froze in shock “WHAT!”
