STEAL A DOCTOR

ARIANA'S POV~

Julius didn't waste any time, grabbing a gurney after the medical team had stabilized Mateo.

“We are leaving right now, I've made arrangements, someone betrayed us Ariana and I have to find out who,” he said.

“Sir you can't just wheel the patient out of the hospital” the male doctor announced, before standing at the door, preventing Julius from leaving.

“And who is going to stop me?” he inquired before taking out his gun and pointing it straight at his temple.

The doctor shrieked in horror and the others followed suit, he immediately stepped out of the way while the guards he brought along with him wheeled him toward the elevator.

“Sir, we have not finished our assessment, his case could be severe, waking up is not a guarantee that all is well” the male doctor announced again.

The others nodded in agreement.

I watched as they gently wheeled my resting husband into the elevator before it closed.

I was so afraid to lose him again if I hadn't been mindful she probably would have succeeded.

Julius was right, Mateo needs me.

“The van is waiting, quick check out the window, it should be parked right behind the hospital” Julius informed and I hurried to the window.

I saw an orange van, parked behind, I saw the guard gently place Mateo still attached to the oxygen tank, his gurney was wheeled in and they closed the van.

I nodded in confirmation, “Yeah it's there, but is this safe? We don't know the extent of his damage, what if we saved him just to die” I asked before taking a long pause before continuing, “We need a doctor Julius, someone who knows what the hell they are doing” I mentioned.

It felt as though Julius and I had the same thought, I turned to the male doctor who was already terrified.

“Doctor Alonzo” I started with a smile, “im going to need you to come with us,” I said.

His eyes widened with shock, “NO! I'll do no such thing, I have a job here, a life, I have a…”

“She wasn't asking”, Julius stated, before pointing the gun at Doctor Alonzo.

“Look we are going to have to steal you for a while doc, if not personal, i just need to protect my husband, and with your outburst earlier it seems you care, so yeah you are coming with us” I finished smiling at him before gesturing him to follow behind.

He didn't budge until Julius threatened him again, waving the gun in his face.

“Fine,” he said, “ but I want you to know that this is a kidnap! You are forcing me to leave against my will, and I have witnesses to prove it,” he said courageously.

I was touched, but I didn't care, Mateo’s life hung in the balance.

“When this is all over, we will get you home safe, I promise,” I said.

“Move, doctor” Julius threatened again with his gun.

The doctor was reluctant but he came with us anyway, but by the time we got to the parked space the van Mateo was put in had disappeared.

Julius cursed under his breath while I started to panic.

He called the soldiers who were in charge of Mateo’s transport to the van.

“Who the fuck told them they could go?” he inquired, pointing the gun at one of them.

“Sir, I don't understand, we heard you over the radio, you said it's a go” he replied.

“What?” Julius exclaimed, “I never said that I never..” he paused and was lost in breath for a while before turning to me.

“My voice has been cloned, someone got to Mateo and we gave them all the access” he said before cursing under his breath again.

“Shit! He has so many fucking enemies we can't even track him down!” he thundered before hitting the pile of trash quietly sitting on a wall.

“Someone has Mateo, Julius, we need to be smarter than they are” I cautioned.

“Give me your orders Ma'am” he said.

It felt strange but right now I knew I had to follow my gut instinct.

“Right now Mateo is still being transported, we can catch up to him, but first we gotta find out what piece of shit took him and what their mission is” I continued before pacing around.

I'm not used to being a leader, giving orders has never been my trusted suit but here I am., giving the most hardened of criminals a simple order.

I suddenly remembered something.

“I heard Becky tell the guards she lost her phone last night, but I found it, and I put it in a go bag along with his other things today” I mentioned, my eyes brightening.

“It's in the van! we need to track Becky’s phone” I exclaimed joyously, for once I was glad Becky was here.

“I'll get right on it,” Julius said before gesturing to the soldiers to follow him, he took out his phone and in a few minutes we got a location.

Julius is an inventive man, he made things work in his favour always, as soon as he got wind of the kidnapper’s location he hijacked an ambulance and soon we were on my way to save my prince with a talkative doctor by our side.

After almost 30 minutes of being on the road, we got to an abandoned warehouse.

The van was packed outside but it was empty.

Meaning mateo must be inside that warehouse.

Julius ordered his soldiers to surround the house as we moved closer, he begged me to stay in the ambulance but I refused, I needed to see for myself what was happening.

As we moved closer, we heard voices.

“How can you tell me you don't want this anymore?” he asked, I recognised that voice, though in passing I knew I heard that voice before.

We moved closer, “Sophia, I betrayed my uncle to get Mateo out of that fucking hospital, do you know how hard it was, I had to trick the driver to get the van and I had to kill him” he paused,

Sophia? Sophia Argento? She’s behind this?

I turned to Julius, by reading the expression on his face I could tell he already knew who this tall handsome kidnapper was.

“I know who this bastard is,” Julius said, his tone unusually low.

I waited for him to reveal his identity, who was this mystery man who had kidnapped my husband for love? for power?

“That’s my sister’s bastard son, Giovanni, and I'll kill him mercifully, today he will join his mother in paradise”
