It was noon, the weather was a bit cool as compared to the previous day. Daisy decided to go for shopping with the money she received from the SABS company. It took her aback as she wasn't expecting anything until two weeks time, seems this was her dream job after all, or so she thought.

Although, she had goosebumps each time she recalled her encounter with the CEO, Mr. Dash. The awkward silence that always enveloped every vicinity he entered or he stayed in. She knew something was definitely wrong and she hoped she'd be able to adapt to whatever condition she found herself in, in the future, while working with him.

She had heard a lot of bad remarks from Stacy, even before she considered finding a job in the company. She never heard a single story about him that had happy endings. Still, at that point, she had no choice than to accept whatever came her way.

She was $1,000 rich today, which used to be more than three months of her swear or even more. She'd gotten that in only one day of getting a job. She had applied for numerous jobs, which she either got disqualified one way or the other, or she didn't get called on after the interview. Perhaps, it was a good start to something different.

She took her dedit card, her hand bag and left the house, after locking the door properly. She was starting a new job in a big company the next day and she needed to look a little classy, even if not luxurious like the other employees, she could still cope with that.

Her dream of having a nice office, in a classy dress in all elegance was finally unveiling. She chuckled lightly.

She got down from the taxi, after paying off the driver. She stood Infront of the boutique for a little while, trying to imagine herself coming around more often in subsequent times.

She was so engrossed with her thoughts that she didn't see the guy behind her and she collided with him.

"Oh my goodness, I'm really sorry." She said, trying to brush his shirt gently with her fingers and a little fidgety as she did.

The guy smiled lovingly, "it's fine, you don't need to do that. I'm good and the apologies, it's just enough." He replied calmly.

"Oh thank God." Daisy replied, holding her chest in relief. "I'm glad you didn't take offence."

"There's no need to." He said, then brought out his right hand. "I'm Steve, what's yours?

Daisy smiled, "I'm Daisy."

"Nice to meet you Daisy. I hope to meet you some other time." He shook her gently and left, giving a slight wave. It was obvious that he was in a hurry.

Daisy stood there for a while in admiration as the guy was quite handsome and well groomed. She came back to her senses after a brief tour to the wonderland like Alice, then she went into the boutique. It had been about few months since she stepped into the boutique. She had gone with her friend Stacy who actually did the shopping that day.

She was amazed as she noticed a lot of difference in the interiors and decorations, also at the different section arrangements as compared to the last time she was there. She also noticed a mild increase in the prices of some dresses she had seen and taken interest in.

She walked around slowly, picking less expensive dresses that were still beautiful and had some art of elegance on them. She was lucky that she had always had a good eye for selecting good clothes, no matter how less expensive they were. Her mother was a good example to have emulated in that case.

In no time, she was done with picking clothes, so she went to the bag and shoes section. What she saw marvelled her. She wished she had a lot of money to pick whatever she desired, but of course, that was only fantasy and she had to live in the reality which she was in.

Done with shopping, she paid for all she had purchased. At the end, she spent about $300, which she felt was just good enough to start a good job. Although, she had to remind herself that, that was her salary some months back.

She got home in the early evening. Stacy was back from work already and was having something to eat before she sauntered in.

As soon as she walked in, Stacy jumped to her feet and hugged her so tightly. "You got the job, you got the job! I'm so happy." She said, then paused when she saw her hands filled with bags.

"What is all that? Suzy asked, a little curious.

Daisy dropped the bags on the cushion and fell on the chair, looking quite exhausted from shopping. "yeah, I got the job. Not only that,"

"What is it? Tell me, tell me. My ears are so itchy that I can't rest." Suzy said laughing like a child.

"I got paid today as well. I really wasn't expecting that, but, I got some alert."

"Wow, that's so cool. You know, I'm not supposed to ask how much you got, so I'll..."

Daisy cut her in between, "a thousand dollars Stacy, a thousand. I went for shopping, because I'm starting tomorrow."

"No way! Oh my goodness. Come here, give me a big hug would you." Suzy hugged her so tight the second time, very happy to see her happy.

"Thank you Stacy, I really don't know how to thank you, but sincerely, I'm so grateful."

"Come on, what are friends for. Honestly, if I had my way, I would have gotten a better job, but it's better than nothing. If that man ever tries something stupid with you my friend, you know where to find me." Stacy said authoritatively.

"Hahaha, I'll do that, the iron lady."

"That's my girl."

"I'm so glad that I can start splitting bills with you. You wouldn't have take all those responsibilities on yourself alone, I'm really happy I can help now."

"Daisy, I've never complained for once. You know me, if I don't like something, you'll be the first to know. You can take your time, yeah. Things will come in place when the time is right you know."

"You're such a darling Stacy, what would I have done without you." Daisy said, almost tearing up.

"Daisy, don't tell me you're crying. Come on, please stop that." Stacy encouraged, tapping her gently.

"You know, I still have doubts about this job, but, I think I need to be more positive. Something good could come out of it." Daisy said.

"Yeah, you never can tell the whole truth about a matter till you're part of it. I wish you good luck sweetheart." She hugged her again. "So, let's see what you have here, shall we."

They took the bags to the room and unpacked all the contents on the bed.

"Oh my gosh, this bag is so pretty." Stacy commented, picking up one of the bags and staring at it admiringly."

"You really like it? Daisy asked, smiling at her childish act.

"Of course I do. That's the reason I am always bent on having you around each time I went shopping. You have the best taste in choosing good outfits, I love it!

"You can have it, it actually suits you." Daisy suggested.

"No no no, not yet. You can't be a philanthropist to me yet. This is yours, you have it. I have enough for now, and you have a job to start tomorrow." She said excitedly, then jumped on the bed.

"Gosh, someone would think you actually won a lottery to Spain or, em, Turkey or even Dubai."

"Hahaha. I don't need to win a lottery to be this happy. My best friend just got a job, who am I not to be happy."

They kept unpacking one after the other and admiring the items she got.

Daisy got a message and went to check it out. She got dumbfounded for a while and couldn't utter a word after reading through the message.

Stacy who noticed the unusual silence came around to find out. "Daisy, are you alright? Is there a problem? She asked, becoming a little scared.

"Guess what I just received? Daisy asked her.

Stacy paused for a while to guess. "More credit alert from SAB?

"Oh come on, be realistic girl. That's a no, please try again."

"Okay, uhmm, a message from home? Stacy guessed, but not rightly.

"No, not close."

"Oh shit, so what could that be? I'm out of guesses. You spill the bean and stop making my ears so itchy." Suzy complained, now frowning. She hated being kept in suspense.

"Well, I just got a job from the Merls."

"Oh my! That's, that's just the wrong timing. What the? What are you gonna do?

"Exactly wrong timing. I don't think I have a choice than to reject it. I mean, I've spent almost $400 from the money already, how do I pay back?

"Sadist Dash won't let you off that easily still at that. Perhaps, work for the three months, then go back for this, if they'd still accept you."

"I guess that's what I'd do. I'll try not to let this news ruin the rest of my day, I'll be positive and hope Mr. Dash isn't as evil as you all say about him." Daisy gave herself some hope.

Stacy didn't make any comments on her last statement, as she knew that the stories were sometimes nicer than what she could face. But, she won't be the one to spoil her friend's day, or prevent her from being the working class lady she'd always wanted.

They went ahead to prepare what Daisy would use on her first day at work and both anticipated greatly on the outcome of it.

I guess we'll see where it'd lead to.
