She stood In front of the company and said a little prayer. The previous day, she was so bold and courageous, walking into the company like she had an affiliation with them. This morning, she felt like she had the whole world on her shoulders and she needed to carry it without faltering.

Today would mark the beginning of her luxury or sufferings or whatever it may be. She couldn't tell what she'd encounter when she got there, but she was ready to face the little she had prepared for. Or so she thought.

It was few minutes to the stipulated time that was agreed that she resumed work. So, she walked into the building, heads high, ready to conquer.

As soon as she got to the office, which would be hers, starting that day, she saw a file on the table that contained a list of some daily activities that she needed to work on.

She reported for work online and sat down comfortably on the chair, her chair. It was like a dream come true for her. The room was perfectly furnished. It had what a self contained room should have, aside the fact that it should be used for an office.

There was a cushion by the side of the room that could be rearranged for a bed. She found out later on, that the office was redecorated as soon as the contract of the previous secretary expired and wasn't renewed.

She took a short video of the office and sat down to look at it. She had the whole day to admire the office, so she'd do more later on.

Inside the files were the roles and activities she needed to work on, so not wasting much of her time, she started work.

She set up few meetings with some pending clients as stated in the file and kept that aside.

She would check for her boss frequently, but he was not in his office yet. She kept up with the tasks she had at hand.

Luckily, she had worked as an assistant secretary in the food store she worked with some months back and that gave her an edge and advantage.

She was working when she heard her phone ring, so she quickly checked, it was Stacy and a video call.

"Hey sweet Daisy, how's your day at work like? Have you seen your office? How's it like? I heard it's different from the last one, do you like it?

"Oh goodness, you'll trouble me more than the job itself. How do you expect me to answer all these questions you're throwing at me."

"You'll just have answer it anyway. I'm keeping tabs on your boss, he's not around yet, perhaps he'll be coming in late."

"Oh, that's good news, so I won't be having so much work for today. Perhaps, a stress free day for me." Daisy chuckled quietly.

Stacy paused before answering. "This is how you know a novice talking. Honey, you're in big trouble if he actually comes in very late. I'm hoping he doesn't, for your sake."

Daisy didn't understand why she made such statements. "I guess you might have to explain what you mean by that. I thought that should be good news?

"Actually, you should be scared for yourself if he comes in at noon. You might be in trouble that you don't know about." Suzy tried to explain, without making it difficult for her friend.

"I still do not understand what you mean by all these you're saying." Daisy in confusion, complained.

"What I'm trying to say is that, you might not be coming home today if he comes in late. Except, for first time sake. Just hope he doesn't show up that late."

"So, how do I do that?

"I don't know, just believe."

They talked for a while before finally ending the call. Daisy heart kept skipping a bit each time she felt he was around and only relaxed when she found out that he wasn't. But, she had been told that he coming late to work is also a problem. Now, she is left in a dilemma, not knowing which is better, at the same time, she was enjoying his absence.

Before time, she was done with the few tasks she was supposed to complete for the day. So, she used her so called less busy time to make videos of herself and take snapshots.

All of a sudden, she felt that awkward silence from a distance and deep down, she knew the sadist was around. She quickly checked her time, 12:10 pm. "What an early CEO." She said, almost under her breath.

She stood at the door that led to her office, putting up a brief smile.

As soon as he walked towards her direction, she hurriedly greeted him. "Good morning sir." She broadened her smile.

He turned to the guy beside him, his so called personal escort, rather bodyguard and asked, "Who's she? He asked quietly, though she heard it loud and clear.

How could he have forgotten so easily. She wondered. Maybe she did change after a little touch of make up on her face. Perhaps, she could have disappeared with the money, if he couldn't recognise her.

"Your new secretary sir, she resumed work today" the guy replied.

She could tell that the guy was the same person she saw the previous day, but that wasn't her business at that moment.

Mr. Dash nodded and went into his office, without any sign of acknowledgement. She shrugged and let it slide.

She decided she'll give him some time to relax, before going in to inform him of his scheduled activities for the day.

Still getting accustomed to the office and some technological features. She observed that she had thirty minutes break time and during the said time, she could make orders from the company canteen without stepping a foot from her office. Everything she could order for had been paid for as far as the office of the secretary to the CEO was concerned.

The more discovery she made, the more reason she wanted to stay back and find out what chased the previous secretaries from renewing their contracts, her curiosity widened.

About thirty minutes afterwards, she took her report file and headed to the CEO's office. The moment she got to the door, she stopped, her heart racing so fast that she almost fell sick. She couldn't muster up courage to knock and go in, the fear was nothing to be matched with and at that point, she knew she needed to do something about it.

She heard her office phone ring, so she quickly tiptoed back to her office to pick it up.

"Daisy Omorh on the line, how many I help you?

"Get yourself to my office right away."

The call ended abruptly. "That definitely was the sadist. Oh my goodness, what do I do, what do I do? She whimpered.

Taking more time won't help matters, so she decided to go face it. She knocked calmly on the door, clutching the report file calmly then opened it and entered.

She faked a big smile, as soon as she walked into his office. "Hello sir, I..." He didn't let her finish.

"One important thing you should learn about me is that, I don't like it when people waste my time. You see" he said, getting up from his seat. "Time is so precious to me that I don't even waste an ounce of it and I deal with people who work with me but still cannot accept that."

"I am really sorry about that sir, It will definitely not repeat itself." She assured him.

"I don't like promises, especially from people who look scared, because they would never fulfill it, so don't make promises you clearly won't keep."

Daisy thought about asking him how he knew she won't keep it when she always kept her word, but she dared not risk it.

"I am sorry, again."

"What are my schedules for today? He asked, sitting down proudly, or so she thought. "I am really tired, so I might not attend to much activities. I have a big day ahead of me tomorrow."

Daisy went ahead to give him a breakdown of his activities for the day and in between the dialogue, he stopped her halfway.

"Do you understand or know the type of company you're working with? You don't have a single respect for me, or why will you have my schedules on hardcopy. What if your boyfriend tears it into pieces?

"I will look into it sir, besides I don't have a boyfriend yet." She answered defensively.

"I don't care if you do, it was only an illustration. Make sure you work on it as you've just said."

Daisy was tired of the conversation with him and wished he could leave her to go back to her office. She just started, but she could feel the heat of the job already and it was only noon.

She completed her report and waited for his usual arrogant comment.

"I need coffee on my table, there's the coffee machine across the room, make some for me, I want it hot and creamy."

Daisy stared at him in disbelief, "Now, you mean now?

"Do you have a problem with that?

"No, no sir. I don't." She stammered. She almost kept the file on his table before she had a rethink and kept it somewhere else. She took the cup by the coffee machine and stared at it for few seconds. The coffee machine wasn't the type she had used but, due to the fact that she had worked in a restaurant, she found her way around it.

Few minutes later, she returned to him with the already made coffee and placed it on his table. He took it and had a sip from it.

"Hmm, it's not creamy to my taste, but that'd be for another time. You can get back to work."

Daisy quickly grabbed her files without thanking him or saying any words to him and started walking out of his office briskly.

"One more thing." He said from behind.

Daisy stopped abruptly, she felt her heart almost seize, before it started beating so fast. She wondered what he was about to say, praying silently in her heart, she listened.

"Come to my office as soon as it's 2pm, I have something you need to do by then, I won't repeat my stance on being on time.

"Noted sir." She replied and dashed out of his office without looking back. She went to her office and sat down, clutching her chest in deep relief.

"Oh goodness, I must have fainted twice in there without falling. Gosh, his aura is so, I can't even place it. I might have to deal with this phobia that's trying to build up in me." She convinced herself.

"But, wait a minute, 2 o'clock is my break time, what does he want from me again? She wondered, after realising the effect of the last statement he made before she left his office. She quickly grabbed her phone and set the alarm to five minutes before the proposed time.

She lay flat on her desk for few more minutes, before finally going back to work. Her activities for the day wasn't as much as she had expected and she was really happy at that.
