CHAPTER 50: NO MERCY

I was distraught with the treatment I had received from him. My trip back home was a somber one, the weight of Alpha Hunter's words lingering in the air like a heavy fog.

He was meant to say those words to some other girl because he had a woman like me in his life, not telling me to leave and calling it good news.

How would I handle this child alone? He simply didn't want us in his life but was willing to be a father from a distance. What a pathetic offering.

I was hurt. I was so hurt that I had nothing else to say as I could only sit still while they returned me to my home.

Bound and escorted by his men, I was frozen, a sense of betrayal and resentment festered within me. We hit a bump near my house and then I was jolted back to reality.
