CHAPTER 56: ON TARGET

I entered my mansion without paying attention to the pleasantries of my pack members. I had told everyone to leave as quickly as possible. I wanted to be left alone, I wanted my space to think and to plan things through. The news that got to me infuriated me.

As I settled into my seat and called on the heads of council and the elders of my pack, I commanded my men to gather. I needed to assess the situation of my pack and the size of my fighting men.

“What has been the latest since I left?” My voice came first after the movements had stopped and everyone was sitting.

I never liked to speak when there was noise in the background; it had been my policy and they all knew it.

I wondered why it took them a while to all arrive here, someone would be a scapegoat today, I needed to remind them where the ultimate authority lay, and it was with me.

“Alpha. So far, so good, nothing has happened.” My military strategist informed me.
