Chapter 3

Casey Morgan POV

Pacing around my chamber's balcony, the morning sun and fresh air blew in my direction making me recognize how beautiful nature is. I get hold of the railing striking a good posture for balance allowing me to have a view of the pack's main town. The early morning activity and how busy the town is, everyone going in different directions.

The walkway filled with those trekking and the vehicles moving in their lane too

I feel it's a nice way to unwind in the morning while watching how the activity of the pack goes, I believe this might be similar to what my father does. I said to myself, knowing fully well that I hadn't learned much from my father. The sudden death of my mother some years ago kept me far away from him as I believe he was supposed to do something about it. Instead, he allowed the same thing killing us to live with us for long not to talk of forcing her on me.

Talking about marriage, my father has always forced decisions on me which made me distance myself from him, but in as much as I don't like his attitude towards me I still loved but and was willing to change not until he forced Abbey on me one year ago and insisted we give him an hei early, when he noticed we were sleeping in different rooms after marriage.

Even though I agreed to produce an offspring with Abbey I never mated her, so she wasn't my mate at all rather my father forced an option on me, which I always regretted.

My thoughts run on how I'm going to take up the mantle my father left unexpectedly, this is three days now and I haven't heard another meeting with the elders of the council on the next action to take, knowing very well that some neighboring packs might see us as their weaklings and may try to overpower and lead us, which is the most important thing I'm thinking of how to solve right now.

While in my deep thoughts, Taylor walked, “My prince, Alpha Rodney is here”

You can tell Zoran to entertain him, I'm not fit to speak with anyone here.

“But my prince Alpha Rodney is not a low profile to just look down on him, you know the deep relationship he had with your father before his death and the alliance we share” he explained in his voice firm.

I was sure I'm speaking in a language Taylor will understand and the fact that I have told them this several times is trying to piss me off.

Taylor I know how simple these instructions are for you to carry them out, have you thought about what others might be thinking about our great pack as. A pack that couldn't protect its Alpha or a pack whose members can be slaughtered easily because they don't have capable shoulders. Did you even know what your job role is as the chief security officer of the pack or do you still go around delivering messages like a messenger without doing your job as the security of the pack?

“From now on, I would like to be getting the analysis of this pack security” I demanded without looking at Taylor.

“Understood My prince," he said before walking out.

Immediately he left, I found it so hard to bring my thoughts and focus on the pack view back, I couldn't tell whether Taylor and Rodney wouldn't be able to carry out any little instructions given to them. Since the death of my father, visitors have been sending in their condolences and even visits, but none of those things are my issues right now, as I'm still finding it difficult to process the whole information Nickie disclosed the other day, which still sounds new and unbelievable.

Just then the door creaked open and I wanted to reprimand the person before Nickie walked in with a white tray in her hands.

“The kitchen has been too busy due to the number of visitors trooping in, but I still have minimized the little opportunity I got to prepare this and I know you will like it my Prince” She dropped it on a mini table and took a few steps back her head bowed. “And about last night I'm sorry about what happened between us” she added and I looked at her, she was looking hotter than her attire last night, the dress she was wearing showed her curvy waist shape and sexy legs.

You don't need to worry about that, just keep it a secret between me and you. “You can go,” I told her after opening the cover of the food to see what's inside.

I perceived the aroma of the toasted cheese baguette just exactly what I needed this morning, with a glass of juice to cool off my brain, I have been thinking and drinking a lot for some days now, without a proper meal. Nickie must be a good cook, not just in the kitchen but in the room too, her shape confirms it all, I haven't been able to check her well not until the morning after what happened yesterday night when she came to serve me, I was a bit drunk, one thing led to the other and I her cuddled in my arms, I couldn't push her away as it has been long I had that kind of sweet memories.

The tightness and sweetness in between her legs keeps making me cum all over again, I could see her thighs dancing and moving slow and steady on my waist, she was so sweet that I couldn't stop pounding her even when I can hear her loud moans shaking the walls of my rooms the relief it comes with that night and the sound sleep I got thereafter was worth it.

The evening is fast approaching and I haven't left my chambers yet. I feel the need for me to call a meeting for the whole pack and show Abbey her rightful place. I'm still thinking of what else I can do for her so she can face the pain of the crime she committed.

I have been getting so many suggestions like sending her out of the pack, rejecting her as my mate, putting her under hard labor, selling her off to another pack, or sending her to a forest. But none of this suggestion suits me well weighing the crime she committed, she deserves a painful punishment.

So I called out for my guards to tell Zoran that his presence was needed.

A few minutes later Zoran stepped in and greeted me, bowing his head. I didn't feel the need to respond to his greeting so I went ahead to instruct him, and ask him to inform the pack council of an emergency meeting.

He bowed his head in acknowledgment and turned to leave, but had to stop when he heard my voice again.

One more thing, tell the cell guards that I will be needing Abbey out, her matter will be treated during our meeting.

“Consider it done my prince,” he said and left my chambers.

I walked Into the meeting hall with every council member seated and Abbey at the center, her hands and legs tied together.

‘All hail the prince” they all said in unison with their heads bowed, I sat down before they raised their heads.

I cleared my throat before speaking, “As we all know, there is only one reason for our gathering this evening, which the victim is here in our midst. And I would like the council member here to decide on what best punishment we can serve her”

“My prince I believe we all know that Abbey is not a member of this pack, and regarding the great atrocity she has committed, I suggest she is being killed and her blood spilled all over the deep forest, I believe the goddess won't be angry at us for any reason knowing fully well she isn't one of…..” one of the elders suggested but before he could finish the other stood up and interrupted.

Elders of Bloodborne and my prince, I strongly reject this opinion as much as is good. Yes, Abbey isn't one of us. He paused for a while looking at Abbey who was still lying helpless on the floor. Killing her without making the right investigation into this crime to know if truly she is the main culprit will bring calamity to our pack and my hands won't be in this.

“So what's your suggestion if killing her isn't justful” I asked, my face turning pale.

My prince, I believe we should find other punishment like kicking her out of our pack, since we all know she has turned out to be a stroke of bad luck here or at best sell her as a slave to another pack.

Well, my prince I concur a little with his suggestion but, what if we make her a slave in our pack, whereby you reject her as your mate so she works for us on the farm throughout her stay here?

“hmmm yeah” I nodded a little at his suggestion, I think this will work, since she is pregnant we can keep her till she gives birth, so we can take our kids and sell her out.

The elders nodded in unison, all accepting my suggestion without obstruction.

With that being said the meeting is over. Guards I called out, and they didn't waste time to respond.

Take her to the slave section and make sure she is being given the punishment every slave receives, tell their masters there to make sure she works day and night without rest. I won't accept any form of excuses if I find her missing, there should be close monitoring.

“Did you get me” I blustered and they acknowledged in unison with a bow.
