Chapter 1

Abbey POV

“Who was the last person that entered my father's chambers that night?” Casey Morgan asked his eyes wide open like one ready to divulge the victim.

“My Prince no… no…on no…. one” the guards replied in unison.

“I’m asking this for the last time, and after now you guards will know the punishment meant for not guarding the Alpha chambers carefully, and by the time I'm finished with you, I bet none of you will be alive to testify what happened,” he said before asking the question again rising the head of one of the guards up “Now answer me, who did you see last around the Alpha's chambers.”

I watched his body shaking and his lips trying to say a word but he couldn't say it, as other guards murmured and looked at themselves while their heads were bent.

“Now as none of you wants to say who the person is, I will behead you all with my sword” Casey Morgan threw out his sword and the whole pack panicked even his Beta and elder of the council couldn't stop him seeing how engrossed he was in anger.

I tried speaking but hell no, Casey Morgan might come after me if care is not taken, he hasn't allowed me to talk in a normal council meeting not to talk of a sensitive topic like this. I wish any of the guards could just call the person's name or even anything regarding the Alpha's death before Casey Morgan commits an atrocity.

“My prince, I can say something…..” one of the guards stammered, raising his hand. Just then everywhere was silent waiting for him to speak up.

“Then I'm all ears…..” Casey Morgan replied, I could feel his eyes guiled on the direction where the voice was coming from.

“Le… le… lady Abbey is the one” the guards called out.

Did I just hear my name? My lips tried moving but I wasn't sure what I was going to say. Everyone's eyes fell directly on me as shouts and murmurs filled the air, I wasn't sure anyone was going to come for me at this moment.

The Alpha prince turned to me with a mischievous smile on his face, “So you of all people Abbey?” He asked, pointing his sword at me.

“I can tell you for free that guard isn't sure of who he saw, how can I do that, what is my gain more over the Alpha appreciates me so much so it will be inhumane of me if I try doing such an abomination,” I said waving my hands on the air denying the accusations.

“Can you please stop justifying yourself Abbey” he shouted at me bringing the sword closer to my neck.

Is this a frame or what, I said to myself shivering. I could feel my legs shaking. I know Casey Morgan doesn't like me that much but why will he believe in these lies? I heard many voices murmuring in the background while I tried as much as possible to shut my ears away from those rumors, it was sounding so hard in my ears.

“You know, I know you so much, this little bitch” he said with another wicked smile, “now tell me who sent you?” he commanded with a loud voice.

I staggered back a little bit before gaining my balance, more confused than everyone there that I didn't notice when tears welled up in my eyes.

“You know I can't be deceived by your fake tears, speak up now else you will find yourself as lifeless as my dad” he glared.

“I'm sure he knows I didn't do that,” I said to myself before gathering the courage to speak up “I can’t do such goddess bear me witness, such a wicked act hasn't crossed my mind for once”

Just then Taylor spoke up “ We have always known Abbey as a bad fortune in this pack but this particular act is the height of it all, and we need to find who sent her to do this, it might likely be the evil spirit in her, who knows?” he added, I was thinking he is going to side me at least, let this be investigated.

“My Prince please don't listen to all these lies, I believe there is more to this, someone is trying to frame me up” I spoke up immediately trying as much as possible to convince the prince whose anger was still boiling.

“Hey close that mouth, because I know you're the one who did all this how can all fingers be pointing at you, not even one person can speak for you”

“My Prince I wasn't the one, Nickie can attest to this, you should know what I'm capable of doing?’ I spoke my voice firm.

“Thank goddess for making you a lucky one if not by now, you should have been lifeless by now, I won't sin against the goddess by committing the sacrilege of killing a pregnant woman, but I will make sure you undergo a thorough punishment by bringing shame to our pack” Casey Morgan said and immediately my heart flew inside my belly causing me to have a little contractions but I stood my ground regardless, I wanted to say one more word or at least call Nickie as my witness.

Nickie has been my childhood friend since I came into the pack it was because of me that the Alpha has to allow her to stay at the royal chambers, seeing she is the only one I'm closer to and he doesn't like it when I stay out of the chambers, he feels any of the pack members or anything can harm me, knowing fully well everyone in the pack is against his wish of making me one of them without having any background knowledge of who I am.

She gave me the life I'm living today, so it would be so dumb of me I think of any wicked act against the Alpha not to talk of taking his life. Yes, I went to the Alpha's chambers that night to serve him his favorite shadowfang tea as usually, I might be the last person but goddess knows what I'm saying is nothing but the truth but the kind of hatred the Alpha prince had on me won't make him believe any single thing I'm saying here.

I was lost in thought but realized where I was when two huge guards dragged me out of where I was standing, I screamed asking them to let me be, and amidst my shout and screams I still heard voices calling me names, I beckoned on the Alpha prince to do proper investigation instead of treating me like a slave, just then I received a hot slap on my cheeks. I couldn't realize where I was at the moment as I saw them beat me up with strokes of whip all over my body, I screamed and shouted calling out for help but no one was there for me, not even Nickie, my best friend.

After a series of whipping, he ordered the guards to lock me up until he thought of the next thing to do with me.

I was dragged to the lock-up house as nobody, while I was mocked and thrown dirty stuff.

I sat down at the edge of the dark cell room while I ran my palms gently on my body feeling the marks and cutting I got from the whipping, I cried my eyes out wishing the dead could speak for themselves, the Alpha could have said something about his death, and I wouldn't have been in this kind of condition.

I felt a kick in my womb, and that was when I realized I was pregnant, thank goddess none of the whipping came near my stomach, the maternity gown I was wearing helped in protecting it coupled with the position I was in while they were lashing out their whips on my back. I could only feel severe pains in my back and arms, I was sure none of the pack members were aware of my pregnancy.

I could feel a little pain in my abdomen but I knew with time I would be fine, the offensive odor I was perceiving here was too much, but that's my least of problems as I was thinking of where Nickie was, hoping she didn't face this same shame from the pack members.

I could feel tears drop down my cheeks even when I tried so hard to be strong, knowing fully well nobody would come for me if I broke down here and I needed to be strong to fit my unborn babies. I was sensing my body was becoming weak.

Just when I was about to lie down to rest my head a bit I heard some footsteps coming towards the lockup room, I mediately became alert.
