Chapter 2

Nickie POV

My heart was pounding as I had been here for a long time waiting for Taylor to come over. I have been hearing some footsteps but I know none was him.

I still hear some people discussing what happened at the hall, but I need to hear from Taylor first if anything about me was mentioned there, I will possibly know how to find my way from here if such a thing happens.

I peeped out immediately and I heard footsteps that sounded like his, so I guessed right.

“Hey, how did it go?” I called out to Taylor who was passing by from my hideout. I was so curious and wanted to know if my plans went well.

A few minutes later, I saw a hand dragging me out, my mouth went open for shouting before I saw it was Taylor.

“You made me wait for a long…… What was keeping you?” I questioned him worriedly, he didn't answer, rather he signified to me to have a walk with him.

We got to a point where I stopped, I got worried more, since we started this walk he hadn't said any word and we were busy walking into the woods when it was getting dark already.

“Can you please say something?” I questioned looking up at him.

“Nickie I wanted us to go further but since you're worried, we'll be talking here but you have to keep your voice low” he warned before looking around very well. “I don't think there are any guards around here," he said, inspecting well, trying to see if he could get any scent or sound but he couldn't.

Hmmm hmm “Now I will say you did a nice job in this one, I'm very sure none of the guards knows that you're the one who went on after Abbey came out of the chambers.” he acknowledged “And mind you, you need to be very careful and pretend in Abbey's presence. Next job will be you going to sympathize with the prince and as well tell him some bad things about Abbey, do it in a way that will make him hate her the more” he added and I smiled.

“That isn't a big task, consider that done,” I said, assuring him.

“But if I may ask, what happened to Abbey?”

“She is in the lockup room, don't forget to visit her today if possible take something that can make her feel weak, you know she can die now if you poison her as she is still pregnant.” he advised “Make sure you're extremely careful while doing this” he warned before walking away.

I was so happy at least my major problem had been solved, it seemed like the Alpha liked and appreciated her so much more than any other person in the pack, by the time I was done poisoning the prince's heart I bet she wouldn't be seen anywhere around this pack.

I walked straight to my room, but the looks coming from the guards at the royal chambers were so suspicious, are you sure I'm not a suspect, I can't tell why their eyes were gullied on my body as one, especially the one that way coming from the same direction I came out from.

I was troubled and wanted to stay indoors for a long time so I could carry out my next plan without being caught. I did some mixtures and poured them into the chicken sauce I was taking alongside me. I only wanted her to be weak, so I didn't make it too strong.

The hallway was silent but I needed to be sure no one was around before leaving. I tiptoed outside my door, closing it gently behind me while making my way out of the chambers, I didn't see any single guard or anyone loitering around.

I quickly fastened my steps towards the lockup room direction immediately I was out of the chambers, I had this feeling that I was being followed or spied on but, each time I turned around I won't see anyone, I tried to perceive any scent around but hell no everywhere is clear yet worried I continued moving.

Getting to the lockup rooms I asked the guards for directions to where Abbey was kept, getting there I knocked on the iron gate and waited for some time for her to come out, it took some time before she creeps her head up.

“Oh Nickie, you're here” she sounded surprised, which I know very well that she is.

“Yeah, I'm sorry I went to visit a friend in the other pack coming back to hearing about the whole drama that happened later in the day” I spoke up “Abbey you don't have to worry, I know you're not the one who did that but trust me I'm going to meet the Alpha prince on your behalf” I assured her which she nodded in tears, I know she believed so much in me.

“I hope you weren't harmed by anyone,” I asked, holding her hands.

“Nickie you won't believe what the guards did to me before the whole pack members, I was humiliated as a slave, what pained me most was the beating I received before being brought here, my whole body is in pain” she explained crying.

“That was so bad of the Alpha Prince, I promised to talk to him soon, I know something will be done about you being out of here soon. If not for you, but for the sake of his unborn kids” I promised and I know the Alpha prince isn't that heartless.

By the way, I brought something for you, I know you must be famished by now. She nodded her head weakly in affirmation. Here are some foods prepared with herbs, just good for my lady, and some water.

I handed it over to her, feeling pity for her, but not ready to back off until I achieved my plans, moreover, this is a joint agreement and if I fail Taylor he might harm me badly or even kill me.

I truly love Abbey as a friend but I can't just sit down and watch her take what belongs to me, I know she is aware that the Alpha prince will appreciate me more than her yet she still accepted to be his mate and if I didn't do something about it, she will take the position of the Luna in Bloodborne pack, which I can sit and watch that happen.

I gave her a goodbye kiss and turned around. I'm not supposed to waste much time as I needed to see the Alpha prince today, as it would be bad of me not to send my condolences to him and I also know that he will be happy to talk to me about some things In as much as he doesn't love Abbey, I still need to present myself as a solution to him, so I can please him.

This is the right atmosphere, as I entered the chamber hallway I met the Alpha prince and Taylor walking towards his floor.

Long reign my prince I greeted and bowed a little before him, he stopped but didn't respond. I continued.

“I'm deeply sorry over the news of the Alpha's death, I have something you need to know regarding the person that killed him. I'm sure this information will help you know the next steps to take.” I said convincing him.

“Oh great,” he said with a little smile on his face, while he dismissed Taylor and asked me to follow him to his floor.
