Freya's POV
I kept pacing my room till I heard footsteps just outside my room that showed he was back. I quickly pretended that I was in panic and immediately the door opened, I jumped like I was startled.
"Hey, I'm back." Ronald said, closing the door behind him. He walked towards me and I backed away in fear.
"Freya, you okay?" He asked in concern.
I nodded, still backing away from him.
His eyes roamed the room and he frowned when he saw how scattered it looked.
"What happened here?" Ronald asked and I could sense the anger coming from him.
I shook my head "nothing." I muttered, visibly shaking. Ronald stared at me, it was clear I was lying to him and I let it show.
Lilian didn't get in Kneed's graces by being strong and confident, she got it by looking pathetic. Men love it when women depended on them
"Tell me." He ordered and I shook my head.
"What if they come back?" I asked my voice shaking.
Ronald took a deep breath, probably to calm himself.
"What if who comes back?" He asked.
"The people who did this." I muttered, bowing my head.
"Who did this, Freya!" Ronald yelled, clearly angry and I smirked secretly.
"The maids!" I screamed out holding my head.
"The maids, they don't like me. Can I leave. If your people don't like me, I'll gladly leave." I said, tears streaming down my face as I spoke.
"Hey!" Ronald stepped closer, crouching down to my level. "I like you and who cares if they don't. Don't leave, alright." He said and I nodded. He offered his hand and I took it, he helped me up from the floor and placed me on the bed.
"Why don't we teach them a lesson? Together?" He asked and I looked up at him, nodding. Of course I'm open to him teaching his subjects manners because of me.
He took my hands, pulling me off the bed. I went on with his actions.
Just as we got outside my room, I pulled him to a stop. He turned to look at me, confusion in his gaze.
"What if they decide to punish me when you are not around?" I whispered.
Ronald chuckled and I wondered what was funny. "What's funny?" I muttered looking down on my feet.
"You look cute." He said, taking me by surprise.
Of all the things I expected him to say, that wasn't included. No man has ever called me cute, not even beautiful. I'm just that basic, plain girl you come across.
"Don't tease me." I said and he grabbed my chin, bringing me to stare at him.
"I'm serious, you're beautiful and cute when you're scared." He replied and I blushed red. I wanted to look down on my feet but he stopped me. "Never you bow your head when you're being spoken to." He said and shook my head.
"I'm scared of staring into people's eyes." I stated. Was I scared of staring at people? No. But for quite a while now, whenever I stared at someone, I hear their thoughts. I told my aunt immediately it started and she had waved it off saying I was just hearing things. I believed her, but it didn't stop after that. I should probably stare at Ronald to know what he feel about me, he might actually be thinking the opposite of what he's doing.
He tipped my face up again, bringing me to stare at him. "You see. You stared at me and I didn't eat you up." He said chuckling softly.
I didn't hear anything when I stared at him and I sighed in relief. The stupid powers I thought I had was gone.
"You coming?" Ronald asked, stretching forth his hand once again.
I smiled, taking his hand "of course, my alpha." I said, bowing slightly.
He chuckled at my little antics. We both walked through the pack house, till we got to the maid quarters. Immediately they saw us- or him in this case, they all paused what they were doing and bowed.
"Pleased to be in your presence, Alpha Ronald." They said in unison.
"Which of them?" Ronald asked, ignoring their greeting.
I stared around, not answering immediately. I figured if I answered too quickly it would seem like I wanted them punished on purpose.
Ronald nudged me and I stared at him, bringing my lips to his ears. I should probably tell you now that we are almost at the same height and I'm a really tall person.
"Let's leave, there's no use of punishing them." I mumbled in his ears.
"No, if you let them go now, what's stopping then from coming back?" Ronald asked in a loud voice, causing the maids to gasp in horror. I looked at them and all I can see is terrified young girls. The girl who insulted me earlier was in a corner glaring daggers at me. I focused my gaze on her I heard a voice in my head. "Don't point me, please." So she was actually pretending to be brave. I'm going to have pity on her and let her go this time, just this once. If I needed someone to take a fall for my actions, I'm picking her without a second thought.
"Pretty please." I begged and Ronald sighed.
"Fine, but let this be a warning to each and everyone of you. If you mess with her, you've disrespected someone important to me." He said the last part staring at me. I didn't know what to do, so I smiled and brushed his arm.
"Who's she?" One of the maids snorted and I turned to stare at her. I'm sure I heard her speak, but if Ronald is still speaking uninterrupted it only means I read her mind.
"I know y'all feel threatened by my presence, a stray girl walks in here and suddenly grabs the attention of their Alpha." I paused to stare at them, they were all listening with rapt attention and I continued
"I myself have no idea how that happened. Believe me when I say I mean no harm. " I said, completing my statement. Ronald smiled at me and I turned to leave. Just a few steps, I feel dizzy and then I held my hear in pain. Believe me when I say I'm not acting right now, this is all real.
Love you all🥰😘
Chapter 12Ronald rushed to my side, concern etched on his face. "Freya, what's wrong? Are you okay?"I clutched my chest, struggling to breathe. "I...I don't know. My heart...it hurts."The maids exchanged worried glances, and one of them stepped forward bravely. "Alpha, should we call the healer?"Ronald nodded, scooping me up in his arms. "Yes, now."As he carried me away, my eyes could not leave his face. I wondered if his act of caring was just another show. I caught the gaze of the maid who had snorted earlier, Her thoughts flooded my mind and I could tell she had a huge crush on him "This is too convenient. She's faking it."I forced a weak smile, trying to reassure Ronald. "I'm fine, really."But he would not let me down. "You're not fine. You're going to see the healer, and we'll figure out what's going on with you, you can’t just cry in pain and expect me to believe you are fine." He snapped The healer's quarters were nearby, and soon I was lying on a comfortable bed, surr
My gaze lifted to meet Ronald's as we both wondered what was happening in the maids quarters. I was the first one to exit the room with Ronald coming behind me. I walked towards the maids quarters and hearing screams all over made it get confirmed that there was something big going on there. I stared at the area and my eyes caught the shattered blue glasses on the floor, scattered everywhere prior to giving injuries to the people around if they were not careful. I moved more closer as I see people gathered around a well. I wanted to ask one of the maids what was going on but Ronald beat me to it. “What's going on here?” He asked as some of the maids turn to face us. “Alpha, someone had fallen into the well and the security guards are yet to arrive” the maid said. “Her mate was with her when it happened and had dropped the glass table on the ground when he wanted to go sought out for help” the maid further explained seeing Ronald staring back and forth at the broken glasses. “
Leah’s eyes locked onto mine, daring me, challenging me without a word. It was a message as clear as day, 'You don’t belong here.' The air on the training grounds felt stifling, weighed down by the watchful stares of the other warriors. Their whispered conversations floated around me, but I didn’t need to hear the words to know what they were thinking.I swallowed hard, trying not to let the knot of self-consciousness form in my chest. This wasn’t the time to falter. No matter how much I felt like an outsider, I had to prove myself. ‘This is your chance. Don’t back down!’ I thought to myself.Standing a few paces behind me, Ronald crossed his arms, his expression calm but supportive. That faint smile of his told me he believed in me, even when I wasn’t sure I believed in myself. For a fleeting moment, I wished he’d step in and stop this. But no. That would only solidify what everyone already thought—that I couldn’t handle it.Leah wasn’t just anyone. She was the fiercest female in the
Chapter 15The day after the fight with Leah, I could feel the shift in the way the pack looked at me. Respect from some, lack of trust or uncertainty from others, but no one was no longer ignoring me. Leah’s defeat left a mark, and while I hadn’t come here to prove myself, it was clear that everyone was watching, waiting to see if I really belonged.I went to the training grounds before anyone else, motivated by the desire to keep moving. I understood that respect was tenuous and would be earned daily, fresh. As I reached the edge of the grounds, Ronald’s voice called out to me. “Freya,” he said, stepping forward, his expression thoughtful. He pointed me in the direction to go and led me to a secluded area under the shade of some heavy branches. I could tell he had something important to say.“You were impressive yesterday,” he began, his gaze serious. “But not everyone is convinced. 16I was glad and Ronald finally accepted me as one of his pack member. He still looked withdrawn and guarded when he's around me, but it's step by step.I walked down the hallway leading to my room whistling silently. The past few days went well, no hitches and that alone was enough to make me happy. I wasn't watching where I was going, so I ended up bumping into someone. Hold up, they bumped into me. "Watch it!" The person yelled and I looked up in surprise. "You watch it!" I retorted, she bumped into me, why does she have to say something. "I don't understand, you come in here like you own the place and start bumping into people. You should get your eyes checked." She spat. I look at her, confused at her burst out. "Do you have a problem with me?" I asked and she chuckled folding her arms looking like the typical grade A bitch. "You may have used your witchy claws on Alpha Ronald and Leah, but you can't enchant us all." She snorted, walking past me, making sure to bump into m
17Freya's POV"Who's there?" I answered, clenching my fist so I would not let out an inappropriate sound. "The elders have requested for the Alpha." The person replied and I stared down at Ronald. He was currently biting and licking my neck, which surprisingly felt too good.I tapped him and he shook his head. "Um... I don't know where he is right now, you should check the other quarters." I managed to say after a lot of stuttering and biting my lips to stop my moaning sounds from getting out. Ronald had his hands trailing down my body, I had no idea what he was doing, but it felt good and I never wanted it to stop. "The elders knows he's in here." The person who I assumed to be a guard said. "Shit!" I moaned in pleasure as I felt my warmness trail down my thighs. To my surprise, he drew in a deep breath, unexpectedly trailing his hands on my pussy, making me gasp in surprise before going ahead to even lick his fingers. "Your taste should be the best I've had in a while." He sai
I used my wolf's strength to increase my pace and surprisingly I was faster than most in their wolf form.Deep into the woods, I looked around and there was no sight of any wolf behind me. Hold on, did I go through the wrong route. I was about to turn back, when I heard howling of a wolf signifying it has caught a wild animal. "That's fast" I muttered, still walking around. That's when I saw her, Hayley sneaking up to one of the rogues. The rogue who was in wolf form had no idea of the impending danger behind. I had to help. I knew she had a mission when she joined, but why target one of the rogues. I crouched down just so she wouldn't see me and moved towards her. I threw a stick in her direction which she dodged. The rogue wolf turned to my direction and I muttered "run"It nodded and leapt away. I heard Hayley chuckled and I got on my feet. "They said we should hunt wild animals, not hunt wolves." He stood up, touching my leg. "Why isn't this healing? " He asked and my eyes widened. I did not want him to know the truth, at least not now. "Uh..." I stuttered, putting on a pity face while about to cook up some lies when someone knocked on the door. I heaved a breath of relief as Ronald went to answer the door. Surprisingly it was Hayley and Leah. My heart thumped against my chest, what were they doing here. They pretend to like me in front of Ronald, but hate me after. Why will they visit me? "Alpha." Hayley greeted, bowing her head slightly. Leah did the same and Ronald gave a nod. "What are you guys doing here?" Ronald asked with a smile on his lips. I frowned seeing the carefree smile he displayed. "We heard our friend was hurt and decided to pay her a visit. " Leah answered, smiling at me.Ronald looked back at me and I had to smile back. "Oh, I had no idea Freya was friends with you, That's so nice. Come In then." He said, ushering them in. I almost protested but hel
Ronald's POV"Some of our pack members were torn to pieces last night as they were coming back from the neighbouring pack." He said and I immediately went red in anger. This was the third news about killing this week, and I had no idea why someone was killing my pack members. I was about to lash out when I felt the earthquake.“What the hell?” I muttered, gripping a hold of my table. I looked around the room and everything I hung came crashing down. The guard had fainted, my guess was he didn't hold on to something and had hit his head on the wall. This has never happened before, not even when witches and wolves co-existed. My thoughts went to Freya and I wondered if it affected her room too. It took a while before everywhere stilled. I signed, getting up to pick the objects that were flung around by the earthquake. “What was that? “ I heard a voice behind me and I turned. It was one of my elders. “I have no idea” I answered, picking up a framed picture of a white wolf and placi
Ronald's POVI didn't want Freya to join the warriors in the hurt and it was not because I thought she was weak or not capable. It was because I foresaw the danger that would come to her. I knew the wolves under my command like I knew myself, we were always hostile and extremely rude to an outsider. I knew my people would try to harm her and that's why I tried to stop her. She didn't listen and I let her go. I watched her movement, the way she ran and avoided dangers. She's good, and faster than most of my warriors in wolf form. I wondered how and why? I've never smelt her wolf and I thought she didn't have one yet, but how is she that fast? My eyes were keen on her when someone tapped me on the shoulder. I turned to see an elder frowning at me and I immediately knew the reason. "What?" I asked, walking to have a seat prepared for me. "She has to go." He said, following me. "Who?" I asked, raising an eyebrow. "The girl, the one you've been frolicking with. She needs to go." He sta
