Ronald's POV
I didn't want Freya to join the warriors in the hurt and it was not because I thought she was weak or not capable. It was because I foresaw the danger that would come to her. I knew the wolves under my command like I knew myself, we were always hostile and extremely rude to an outsider. I knew my people would try to harm her and that's why I tried to stop her. She didn't listen and I let her go. I watched her movement, the way she ran and avoided dangers. She's good, and faster than most of my warriors in wolf form. I wondered how and why? I've never smelt her wolf and I thought she didn't have one yet, but how is she that fast? My eyes were keen on her when someone tapped me on the shoulder. I turned to see an elder frowning at me and I immediately knew the reason.
"What?" I asked, walking to have a seat prepared for me.
"She has to go." He said, following me.
"Who?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.
"The girl, the one you've been frolicking with. She needs to go." He stated and I chuckled.
"It's not funny, she's been taking your attention all the time she's been here. She needs to go, with immediate effect or I'll do something and believe me you will not like my action." He threatened, wagging a finger at me.
Remember when I said my subjects were a bit hostile, let's just say when they don't have their way, they'll do anything to make sure they do; even though they get blood on their hands in the process.
"No! I'm not letting her go. At least not now." I said, my eyes on the woods.
"And why is that? First that stray and pathetic girl and then rogue wolves. What are you trying to achieve, Ronald?" He asked in anger.
I stared at him for the first time the conversation started, my smiley face turning into a frown.
“Firstly, it’s Alpha Ronald to you. Secondly you seem to have forgotten your rank here, who and what gave you the gut to threaten me? I sneered
"Listen and listen well, Jackson. That should be the last time you insult or threaten her. And so what if she's having my attention just for the time being, because I don't give it to Leah, doesn't mean someone else won't have it. And for what I am planning, sit back and you might just find out. Don't go poking your nose where it's not needed, it won't end well for you." I threatened, getting on my feet.
Jackson stared at me in shock at my outburst, I might just say today is the first time I snapped at him. Jackson is kind of the oldest elder we have and Leah's father. I know he's had his eyes on the throne for as long as I can remember and that's the reason he keeps pushing Leah to me even though she has a mate.
"I'm so-sorry, Alpha. I might have let my anger get the best of me." He stuttered, bowing his head in apology. I nodded my head, walking to the pack house, with him following suite.
"I just wanted to know what you were planning and your plans for Freya and the other rogues." He said and I stopped abruptly.
"It's simple, I want to know what she knows. I feel like she's from a neighbouring pack and when I get to know what she knows, I can discard her." I answered with a sinister smile on my lips and he nodded.
"The other elders said you changed, they were wrong. " He said smiling and I scoffed.
"They have no idea I am just getting started. She knows more than she's letting on and once I get her to open up, I stab her in the back." I said in all seriousness. I wasn't lying, nor was I kidding. No one should know the kind of barbaric plan I have for her, so I'll just keep it to myself.
I was on my way to my room when I heard another scream. I heard the first one when I was still deep in a conversation with Jackson. It sounded like Freya, but I quickly waved it off. The second scream confirmed my thoughts and immediately I went running towards the scream. When I got to the woods, I saw a guy, one of the rogues carrying her out in his arms.
"What happened?" I asked, staring down at Freya who appeared to have passed out.
"She got into a little accident and broke her leg." He answered and I nodded.
I warned her not to go and she did, this was the exact situation I was avoiding.
The rogue handed her to me and I took her up to her room. I immediately got the physician to attend to her and he did. I looked at her leg and it wasn't healing in any way. It confirmed my suspicion, she had no wolf. It would make my work easy, a wolfless girl was easy to manipulate.
I stayed with her until she awoke hours later, we exchanged a few conversations and the minute I asked her why her leg wasn't healing, she froze, confirming my suspicion, again. Then Leah and Hayley appeared, claiming they were friends.
Honestly, I didn't believe the 'friends' lie they told and one of them probably caused the injury. I shoved it off and left them alone. I had other pressing matters to attend to, so I went back to my office.
Still in my office, sorting my issues when a knock came on my door.
I looked up to see one of the guards guarding the border.
"Alpha, there's a bad news." He said, his head bent.
"Do you ever bring good news?" I snapped, throwing a paperweight at him, which he dodged skillfully.
"I'm sorry, alpha." He apologised.
I was sick of everything, their apology and their inability.
"What?"
"Some of our pack members were torn to pieces last night as they were coming back from the neighbouring pack." He said and I immediately went red in anger. This was the third killing this week, and I had no idea why someone was killing my pack members.

This was the third news about killing this week, and I had no idea why someone was killing my pack members. I was about to lash out when I felt the earthquake.“What the hell?” I muttered, gripping a hold of my table. I looked around the room and everything I hung came crashing down. The guard had fainted, my guess was he didn't hold on to something and had hit his head on the wall. This has never happened before, not even when witches and wolves co-existed. My thoughts went to Freya and I wondered if it affected her room too. It took a while before everywhere stilled. I signed, getting up to pick the objects that were flung around by the earthquake. “What was that? “ I heard a voice behind me and I turned. "Laura!!" I heard my name being called out loudly from the stairs."Hello, Aunt!" a big smile formed on my face as I climbed down the stairs to show her how amazing I look in the maid uniform."Are you ready for today?" The woman asked, taking hold of her hand."Sure!" Laura replied, quickly. Taking a step forward, she gave her aunt a tight hug."Thank you, Aunt, for giving me this opportunity." She said, in a meek tone."Aww, stop that. It's been so long and you keep thanking me." Ellen said, breaking away from the hug. Her eyes twinkled as she looked at her niece."I still have to keep thanking you," Laura replied, smiling sheepishly. A year ago, she had run away from her Pack, looking for her aunt. Ellen had taken her in, without any qualms."I need to go, Aunt. I have a meeting with the Alpha." Laura said, stepping away. The eagerness and excitement in her eyes were evident. As a cook in Pack's mansion, she had been summoned by the Alpha due to the event that would be happening th
A large hall was decorated with fine linens and it was colorful. There were Alpha males and females scattered all around, clinking wine glasses and networking. The music was soft to the ears as the host went up to the stage."Attention everyone!" The host called out and everyone turned to look at him."Now, we welcome the Alpha of the Darkl Pack, Kneed Larking!" The host announced and the guests burst into a round of applause.Swiftly and gracefully, Kneed descended the stairs with Lilian by his side. He had a neutral look on his face, while Lilian was all smiles. She looked graceful and she complimented Kneed, so well.As Kneed got to the foot of the stairs, he proceeded to walk up to the stage, still with Lilian by his side."Welcome, everyone..." He started to say. All eyes were on him, however, he wasn't fazed. There were Alpha from different Packs and even enemy Packs. Though he knew some of them were plotting against him, he didn't care."We have gathered here today, to promote
"What are we going to do? Casting her into prison is not enough! Everyone is dying!" Someone crawled over to Kneed's and Lilian's side, wailing.Kneed was livid as well and he tried to think of what to do to alleviate the situation."Summon the physician!" He ordered immediately, in an urgent tone. However, it turned out that the Pack's physician was also in the ball."Yes, Alpha. I'm right here!" The physician rushed over. However, he was covered in boils as he had also eaten the food served. His eyes were red and his fingers were bloody."Do something, please..." Kneed managed to say, even though he saw the physician's condition. He was desperately trying to keep up with everything and not break down. There were visible boils on his body at this point. However, he failed to notice that Lilian wasn't beside him anymore."I have been trying to check on everyone, Alpha." The physician said, as tears dropped from his eyes. His eyes had lost hope and then he proceeded to say, "I can't do
It was dark and dingy. The smell of rotten bodies was heavy in the air. The sounds of dirty and running rats filled the dungeon.Laura was huddled in a corner, shivering due to the harsh cold."What have I done?" She asked herself, shivering. Tears streamed down her eyes uncontrollably and at this point, she knew she wasn't going to come out of the problem she was into. She tried to think deeply about what had gone wrong in the kitchen but she couldn't pinpoint anything wrong. She had been prepping everything accordingly and carefully and she made sure to do everything right."Ahhh.." She gasped as she realized something. At the time Bryce walked up to the stage, she had slipped out of the kitchen to watch him present his speech. At that time, she was mesmerized by his handsomeness and she prayed to the Moon Goddess to bring them together.Though he would have to break away from his lover."Maybe someone had done something while I wasn't there." She said to herself in realization."Bu
Dan's heart raced as he scooped up Laura's frail body, cradling her in his arms. He could feel her warm blood seeping through his shirt, and her labored breathing sent a chill down his spine. He had to get her out of there, fast. With a surge of adrenaline, he burst out of the dungeon, carrying Laura up the stairs and into the dimly lit psssage way. He didn't stop until they reached the bushy part of the palace, where he gently laid her down beside a tree.Tearing a piece from his clothing, he folded it around her bruised skin causing Laura's eyes to flutter open again. "Dan...thank you," she whispered, her voice barely audible."Don't talk, Laura. Just hang in there. I'll get you beyond the pack land, and you'll be safe," Dan reassured her, his voice trembling with concern. But Laura's gaze was fixed on something beyond him. "Monster...it still out there," she whispered, her eyes clouding with fear.Dan's gripped on her firmly "Don't worry, I won't let her hurt you again. You're safe
"You are hallucinating, I'll stay with you, Laura I won't leave your side until we figure out what's going on" Dan's expression truned grave with concern but she failed to see the tiny smirk on his lips."Thank you so much Dan for risking your life to help me out, I'm really grateful" Laura sincerely appreciated him, she even that without his help she would have probably died in that prison for the crime she had never committed.Liliana would have have had her way with her if he hadn't come at that time and help her. Her smile brightened up as she stared at him but the smile immediately truned upside down when she saw the srimk on his face."He had really risked his life helping you, didn't he ? Well that a shame" she heard him say and she could immediately tell that he wasn't the Dan she knows. There was an odd thing about the energy he gave snice he came in, it was a dark energy but she failed to recognize it untill now. She stood up swiftly as she watch him still grinning."Who ar
Liliana laid there lifeless, no one who have thought she was the same person who had tried to kill someone at the mountains few minutes ago.The Alpha opened the door few seconds after she had position herself on the bed. If she had waited there or was five seconds later she would have been caught red handed by the alpha, good things she had been fast. She laid there looking lifeless and pale but deep in her heart she resent herself for not finishing Laura when she had a chance to. Now she had to start all over again to looking for her."That little wench was able to escape ? That not good at all, she had only tried to make conversations with me because she wants to waste my time and run away from her death, she is able to run away right now but she would not be able to run away the next time I get her, I would kill her immediately" she promised deep in her heart. The alpha on the hand sat down next to her, disappointment and sadness was written all over his face as he wached her pale

He stood up, touching my leg. "Why isn't this healing? " He asked and my eyes widened. I did not want him to know the truth, at least not now. "Uh..." I stuttered, putting on a pity face while about to cook up some lies when someone knocked on the door. I heaved a breath of relief as Ronald went to answer the door. Surprisingly it was Hayley and Leah. My heart thumped against my chest, what were they doing here. They pretend to like me in front of Ronald, but hate me after. Why will they visit me? "Alpha." Hayley greeted, bowing her head slightly. Leah did the same and Ronald gave a nod. "What are you guys doing here?" Ronald asked with a smile on his lips. I frowned seeing the carefree smile he displayed. "We heard our friend was hurt and decided to pay her a visit. " Leah answered, smiling at me.Ronald looked back at me and I had to smile back. "Oh, I had no idea Freya was friends with you, That's so nice. Come In then." He said, ushering them in. I almost protested but hel
I used my wolf's strength to increase my pace and surprisingly I was faster than most in their wolf form.Deep into the woods, I looked around and there was no sight of any wolf behind me. Hold on, did I go through the wrong route. I was about to turn back, when I heard howling of a wolf signifying it has caught a wild animal. "That's fast" I muttered, still walking around. That's when I saw her, Hayley sneaking up to one of the rogues. The rogue who was in wolf form had no idea of the impending danger behind. I had to help. I knew she had a mission when she joined, but why target one of the rogues. I crouched down just so she wouldn't see me and moved towards her. I threw a stick in her direction which she dodged. The rogue wolf turned to my direction and I muttered "run"It nodded and leapt away. I heard Hayley chuckled and I got on my feet. "They said we should hunt wild animals, not hunt wolves." I said, standing in her front. "What's the difference between then and a wil
17Freya's POV"Who's there?" I answered, clenching my fist so I would not let out an inappropriate sound. "The elders have requested for the Alpha." The person replied and I stared down at Ronald. He was currently biting and licking my neck, which surprisingly felt too good.I tapped him and he shook his head. "Um... I don't know where he is right now, you should check the other quarters." I managed to say after a lot of stuttering and biting my lips to stop my moaning sounds from getting out. Ronald had his hands trailing down my body, I had no idea what he was doing, but it felt good and I never wanted it to stop. "The elders knows he's in here." The person who I assumed to be a guard said. "Shit!" I moaned in pleasure as I felt my warmness trail down my thighs. To my surprise, he drew in a deep breath, unexpectedly trailing his hands on my pussy, making me gasp in surprise before going ahead to even lick his fingers. "Your taste should be the best I've had in a while." He sai
16I was glad and Ronald finally accepted me as one of his pack member. He still looked withdrawn and guarded when he's around me, but it's step by step.I walked down the hallway leading to my room whistling silently. The past few days went well, no hitches and that alone was enough to make me happy. I wasn't watching where I was going, so I ended up bumping into someone. Hold up, they bumped into me. "Watch it!" The person yelled and I looked up in surprise. "You watch it!" I retorted, she bumped into me, why does she have to say something. "I don't understand, you come in here like you own the place and start bumping into people. You should get your eyes checked." She spat. I look at her, confused at her burst out. "Do you have a problem with me?" I asked and she chuckled folding her arms looking like the typical grade A bitch. "You may have used your witchy claws on Alpha Ronald and Leah, but you can't enchant us all." She snorted, walking past me, making sure to bump into m
Chapter 15The day after the fight with Leah, I could feel the shift in the way the pack looked at me. Respect from some, lack of trust or uncertainty from others, but no one was no longer ignoring me. Leah’s defeat left a mark, and while I hadn’t come here to prove myself, it was clear that everyone was watching, waiting to see if I really belonged.I went to the training grounds before anyone else, motivated by the desire to keep moving. I understood that respect was tenuous and would be earned daily, fresh. As I reached the edge of the grounds, Ronald’s voice called out to me. “Freya,” he said, stepping forward, his expression thoughtful. He pointed me in the direction to go and led me to a secluded area under the shade of some heavy branches. I could tell he had something important to say.“You were impressive yesterday,” he began, his gaze serious. “But not everyone is convinced. You have shown their effectiveness, but effectiveness by itself will not gain the approval of everybo
Leah’s eyes locked onto mine, daring me, challenging me without a word. It was a message as clear as day, 'You don’t belong here.' The air on the training grounds felt stifling, weighed down by the watchful stares of the other warriors. Their whispered conversations floated around me, but I didn’t need to hear the words to know what they were thinking.I swallowed hard, trying not to let the knot of self-consciousness form in my chest. This wasn’t the time to falter. No matter how much I felt like an outsider, I had to prove myself. ‘This is your chance. Don’t back down!’ I thought to myself.Standing a few paces behind me, Ronald crossed his arms, his expression calm but supportive. That faint smile of his told me he believed in me, even when I wasn’t sure I believed in myself. For a fleeting moment, I wished he’d step in and stop this. But no. That would only solidify what everyone already thought—that I couldn’t handle it.Leah wasn’t just anyone. She was the fiercest female in the
My gaze lifted to meet Ronald's as we both wondered what was happening in the maids quarters. I was the first one to exit the room with Ronald coming behind me. I walked towards the maids quarters and hearing screams all over made it get confirmed that there was something big going on there. I stared at the area and my eyes caught the shattered blue glasses on the floor, scattered everywhere prior to giving injuries to the people around if they were not careful. I moved more closer as I see people gathered around a well. I wanted to ask one of the maids what was going on but Ronald beat me to it. “What's going on here?” He asked as some of the maids turn to face us. “Alpha, someone had fallen into the well and the security guards are yet to arrive” the maid said. “Her mate was with her when it happened and had dropped the glass table on the ground when he wanted to go sought out for help” the maid further explained seeing Ronald staring back and forth at the broken glasses. “
