Catherine's POV While reading the map and the tracker the hacker had connected to my cell phone, I reached the route reading to the bush where the tracker was signaling. The area looked like something had happened, and on the floor were ashes. “The ambulance caught fire. I just hope he didn't burn to ashes.'' I touched the ash and then left the area. It was a very hidden area, and that was why it was easy for him to be caught here. Looking at the tracker, it was time to move into the bush—a forest-like bush. It looked scary, but he had gone in, so I had to find him as well or he might be hurt. Down there, I passed through areas that seemed a bit dark, and then areas where lots of birds were living causing it to be noisy. “He made mention of a cougar, I just hope not to see any.” I thought, taking slow steps deeper until I slipped off and began tumbling downwards uncontrollably. At that spot, I didn't stop screaming. It hurt that I wanted to stand on my feet afterward because I alr
Catherine's POV:The worst thing that will happen to someone is losing their memories, it will look like you were just brought into the world. Now that Michael happened to lose his memory in the process of saving our life and his, it's time I fight for him.He won't get to know who he should avoid or welcome, and he might not even listen to me because I happen to be a stranger to him now.We left the bush and trekked down the way until we reached a junction where we were able to board a cab that drove us to the hospital. I already dropped a message for the hacker on how everything went, reminding him that it isn't the end…this is actually when the real war that I alone am left to conquer begins.Doctor John and Peter will be sad to see him alive, while Jennifer will hate that I survived, but love the fact that Michael doesn't see me as his wife any longer.“It's just for a while. I believe he will regain his memory soon.” I assured myself as we alighted from the cab, and then I paid o
Alpha Michael’s POV:Seeing that Catherine didn't take to heart that I had forgotten her, I felt a bit relieved. At least, she understood that it happened in the process of saving her and the kids and that I'll soon regain my memory. That dude had a nice plan, acting like forgetting everything would bring them closer and make them happy because they would feel that I don't know them as my enemy any longer. The look on John’s face revealed a partially successful game. To him, the next target is ruining my life and taking Catherine with the kids since I might not dodge him again and won't be conscious.I’d have called him a monster if he was behind that incident because the kids still cherished his presence. I took two steps closer to him and looked at the kids on their faces, “They have no resemblance with you so there's no proof that you're their Daddy, and they never referred to you as any, instead they did that to me.” I furrowed my brows. He smirked. “You got amnesia, so you won't
Alpha Michael’s POV:After all, I already decided to tell Catherine everything and Trenton was in support of it, so I left the room without telling her. Even if she finds out, it will be easier to explain at that time. I dropped a text to the guy with the contact number he had given me back in the bush, then he sent me the address I would find him, which I also forwarded to Trenton. Thanks to my Beta for opening my eyes, looks like I wasn't with my right senses back in that bush when I agreed to such a deal.I drove to the motel he had sent me the address and went straight to the room number. There, he was sipping from his bottle of whiskey while exhaling his mouth full of smoke. “Dude!'' I called for his attention and he turned around. “Well, I have something crucial to talk about with you.'' I got seated while he still stood watching me. “Speak!” he voiced out.Does he even recall that I’m his Alpha King, or because we seem to be in this game together? Not when I'm sure he doesn't
Catherine’s POV:I overheard a voice in Alpha’s room after I left which haunted me, so I decided to go take a look and see what was going on in his room because, at this point, I trust no one except myself. When I reached his doorpost, I overheard his conversations with Trenton, so I stayed back to grab everything. He didn't lose his memory, that was a good thing to know, and he was going after the gang that saved him in the bush. With the way their plan was, they had a plan B in case it turned otherwise, so I decided to input myself into the game as well.He will be shocked, but I need to show him how out I am to interfere. Since I learned that John had bad intentions, I changed my ways and plans. I'll only side with Alpha no matter what and come to the end of all these.Their discussion came to an end and I went back to my room. There I put my kids to sleep and freshened up. Soon, I got a message that a doctor had arrived to check on us. I waited for the doctor and directed him to m
Michael’s POV:The bodies of the gangs were taken out of the motel, yet no attendant was shocked. That is proof that it isn't the first time such a thing is happening, yet I'm less blinkered. I wonder how long this has been, and the ministers will still claim not to know anything about it.“The best option is to shut it down and imprison every single soul working here,” Catherine suggested as we sat in the car to vacate. We aim to go see the hacker, at least we’ve got someone to work with that will be of good use. “He had said that there's a lot about the dude that you cut a deal with. He didn't go further because I had to go in and see what was going on.” Catherine uttered.Trenton glanced at her. “We will find out when we reach there. Whatever he's up to has gone to the dust.”It took us more than an hour to arrive at the office. Catherine had said that he was staying. This made me regret coming with a car. I would have booked a flight if I knew it was this far.We went in to see h
John's POVPacing around the room, I was lost in thought. This wasn't how I planned it, I wanted him dead on that bus and then Catherine would have nowhere to go—she would have no other option than to come with me, but none of the plans worked out.I wouldn't have forgiven Peter if Catherine and the kids lost their lives in that car because the hits from the trucks were much. We agreed to hit them just twice, get them wounded, and then I'll come over and take them alongside working on the other plans.“I finally found out that they are stepbrothers and Michael's mother is still in the hospital. What a life.'' I sipped from the glass. I am already short of ideas, I can't watch him claim them even when he loses his memory. I wonder what's so special about him that Catherine can't let go even in this condition.“Now that he has lost his memories. He doesn't know his enemies, this is our time to strike and it gets to him—I just hope that guy succeeds.” my lips stretched into a smile. The
Catherine's POV:Since last night, I've been contemplating over the safety of my kids. They don't need to be hurt while all this drama is ongoing, because I'm sure John might come after them, knowing that they are my weakness. “I need to discuss this with Michael, they should vacate from this Place—the pack as a whole.” I thought, putting on my earpod since I was done bathing and getting dressed. Stepping out of the room, I stumbled on Jason. The look on his face revealed that everything wasn't alright, so I squatted to hear him out.He tapped my cheek. “You hate us, Mum?”My eyes grew wide. Why would he be thinking of such a thing? “I can't do that to my treasures. What made you think that way? Did I offend you two?'' I was so curious and anxious that the situation wouldn't go beyond my control. He looked to his left, and Julia was leaning on the wall. Her eyes focused on us.“You and Dad always leave without us. You don't tell us what is going on nor get something edible for us,” h
