Chapter Eighty-two

Catherine's POV:

The car finally came to a halt as commanded by the man. He had asked me to pull over at the entrance of the woods and I did as he had asked, pushing the door open and quickly going to the back to grab the kids.

Julia's eyes were red from crying and Jason had gone silent but I could see the fear in his eyes. He was more than afraid and honestly, I totally understood why he would be.

"Now, walk that path." The man continued. "And don't waste my time while doing that. I do not have the patience to wait!"

"Mum," Julia began, her voice shaky as we climbed out of the car. The man behind us kept pushing at me to keep walking and that had me and the kids almost falling over to the other side. "Where are we going?"

I did not stop walking as I turned to look at my daughter. She whimpered softly and I did not miss the tears in her eyes.
