Megan’s POV

I woke up and found the bed empty. I quickly got up and had a shower. James was still not in the room, so I got dressed and went downstairs to find him. I knew that he was unhappy with me because I would not give in and let him see me on my birthday. I had tried to explain to him that I wanted to have one more day and night of normalcy before finding out that he was my mate and not wanting to be away from him like Victoria and Steve. I admit I loved how happy they both were, but it also scared me when I saw how reliant on each other they were now. I was not sure I was ready to be reliant on anyone. I like being independent, I had a feeling that after finding out that James was my mate I would not loner get any alone time and that scared me. I managed to find him in the gym punching the crap out of a punching bag.
