Chapter four

    "Ah fuck Ethan that's right just like that!" I moaned as one of the unmated warriors rammed himself hard and fast in me. His cock felt so good I was already a mess.

    I sighed and pulled out one of the photos I kept hidden in my desk to remind me of how far i've come. It was a picture from my seventeenth birthday party. My parents had invited some of the allied alphas and their children and of course most of my pack was there. My mother had originally bought me a gorgeous silver dress that had cut in a curved V to accentuate the curves in my breasts. It was strapless and had a low back too.     "Never again." I reminded myself. I would never put myself through the pain loving that man had caused me ever again. I put the photo back in the drawer underneath some papers and sighed. I still loved him despite everything.

    "Zariah?"

    "Zariah why do I still love him and kinda even miss him?"

    "Because you gave him your everything for six and a half years. You went through hell and back for that man and all he did was treat you like shit." She wasn't wrong there.

    "I know. I just can't stop thinking about him now."

    "Listen babe it's to be expected. I still think about if things had been different but the fact is things weren't different. He gave up on you time and time again until you finally lost the will to fight for your relationship with him. Chances are if you hadn't rejected him things wouldn't of changed. You probably would of been off and on the rest of your lives and do you really want to deal with that?"

    "Not really."

    "Listen Kaydence I know how much you're suffering, trust me I am too. I would rather us be happy though. I would rather us find our second chance mate if we have one or find a decent enough warrior to sire pups to."

    "Zariah!"

    "Listen babe you're turning twenty-seven in two months, i'm not saying the warrior has to stick around as alpha no one has to know who you are pregnant by. Hell if the warrior just is willing to impregnate us then walk away and sire pups with his mate i'm alright with that. We need to produce an heir though. We wont be able to be alpha for forever." I hated to admit it but my wolf had a point.

    "I will consider it. If I decide that it is a good move for us I want to pick a wolf with good qualities. I don't want to pick some random warrior you got it?"

    "Fine by me babe. Now you got some work to do so i'm going to go back to sleep for a while."

    I felt Zariah go quiet again and groaned. I didn't feel any better after talking to her. I contemplated what to do. I knew I could turn to Amelia but she thought I was completely over Elstan. I mean I was over all the shit he put me through but when things were good between us they had been amazing. There were times he had been kind hearted and just an amazing man and lover. Despite that though I had to admit when it came to him the bad did out weigh the good.

    "Hey bitch you busy?" Amelia said pokeing her head in. For her never.

    "Not exactly, what's up?" She sniffed the air and made a face.

    "Really in here?" I shrugged. She rolled her eyes and went to sit down but hesitated.

    "It's safe." I assured her. She rolled her eyes again and sat down.

    "It's in regards to Saturday girl."

    "I'm listening."

    "Are you inviting the entire pack?"

    "Of course why wouldn't I?" She nodded and scribbled something down.

    "Anything specific you want for the welcoming banquet?" I shook my head.

    "Wait the only thing I actually will request is April making that bomb ass macaroni and cheese she makes." Amelia shook her head and laughed while writing that down.

    "Bomb ass mac and cheese got it." I rolled my eyes at her.

    "Amelia thanks for doing this for me." She smiled at me.

    "Hey it's no problem. You're technically acting as alpha and luna you've got your hands full that's why you hired me remember?"

    "Well that and you're my best friend." I reminded her.

    "True." She said with a laugh. I looked at the clock. It was almost lunch time.

    "Wanna go grab lunch?" I asked her.

    "From the kitchen or like outside of pack territory?" I shrugged.

    "Your choice." She smiled.

    "I could go for some burger king." She said with a wink. I just laughed.

    "Glad to see one of us hasn't changed since highschool. Come on my treat." I grabbed my wallet from my desk and we left my office. I made sure to lock it behind us before we took the elevator down to the first floor. I heard a few wolves in the rec room and figured it would be the perfect time to have one of them escort us. I wasn't afraid to leave pack territory without a warrior it just soothed my current gamma and betas nerves if I left with one. I entered the room and whistled. All five men stopped and looked over at us before bowing their heads at me.

    "Hello gentlemen. My friend and I want to take a little trip outside the pack territory who would like to escort us?" They looked confused. I didn't usually ask to leave the territory outside of business matters. Emron quickly stepped forward before anyone else could.

    "I would be happy to escort you and the female gamma off pack grounds alpha." I winked at him.

    "Perfect. Lets go." He followed behind me and Amelia towards the garage. I grabbed a set of keys off of one the hooks and tossed them to Emron. "Be gentle with my baby." He smiled at me and nodded. Amelia slid into the back seat of my black Honda CR-V and Emron climbed into the drivers seat.

    "Where are we going alpha?" He said backing out of the garage.

    "Burger king trip." I say with a shrug. "Lunch is on me so feel free to get whatever you want Emron." His eyes lit up.

    "Thank you alpha." I nodded. We were silent for a while before Amelia finally broke the silence.

    "So have you figured out what you're wearing saturday to the ceremony?" I felt Zariah purr inside of me and an image of the silver dress Emilia had picked for me flashed in my mind. I never had a chance to wear the dress and although I may have to get it altered in the bust area it should still fit.

    "Lets just say it's a dress I know will piss Elstan off." I saw Emron raise an eyebrow in the rearview mirror as I mentioned my exs' name.

    "Oooh the silver one I helped you find?" I nodded. "Ok you have to let me do your hair and make up. I know you're capable of doing it on your own but I have an amazing idea that will literally just look epic on you bitch."

    "Mels as much as I would love for you to you have to worry about making yourself look gorgeous." I said with a wink. She rolled her eyes.

    "Kyle and I can show up early. Him and Emron can get ready together and you and I can get ready together." She said with a pleading look.

    "Alright, alright. Goddess you know I can't resist when you look at me with such sad eyes." She stuck her tougne out at me.

   "Thank you sis. Besides I have been dieing for the chance to make that bastard choke on his fucking words for hurting you the way he did." Emron looked so confused at this point that I felt bad for him.

   "Emron, Amelia and I have been best friends since I was four. She is like a sister to me and is literally the only person on this planet who I will not murder for calling me bitch." Emron smiled at us in the review mirror.

    "I figured that much alpha. My little sister has a close friend like that. I was more confused as to why you were talking about gamma Dirges' son with such disgust."

   "Oh that. Elstan was my boyfriend off and on for six and a half years. He basically abused me and just treated me like shit. Unfortunately he was also my mate. I rejected him on my eighteenth birthday. He left for college shortly after and I haven't seen him since. He did not attend my parents funeral or my alpha ceremony so yeah." I say with a shrug.

    "Ah. Well may I offer an idea that might really drive him over the edge with jealousy?" Amelias eyes lit up in a way that was so devious it made me laugh.

    "You have our attention." I say uncrossing my legs.

    "Show up to the ceremony on the arm of either me or one of the other warriors if I am not to your likeing. Instruct them they are to basically not only escort you but act as your date and basically cater to you and flirt with you all night as if you are a couple." The most evil grin I had ever seen began to slowly creep onto my best friends face as his words sank in.

    "Ooh Emron I love the way you think. What do you think Kay?" I pondered it for a moment. Emron certainly was handsome. He had beautiful tan skin that made his blue eyes look so bright. But his dark hair and thick eyebrows made him look so intimidating. His overall physique made him look like a threat in most of the warriors opinions.

    "How well can you clean up?" I asked.

    "For you alpha I can look like a fucking god." I raised an eye brow at him.

    "I have very high standards for that. Do not dissapoint me." He winked at me.

    "Wouldn't dream of it. We're almost there ladies what do you want?" Amelia and I gave him our orders as we pulled into the drive through. A part of me was fascinated with Emron. Was he seriously flirting with me? If so he had no idea how dangerous of a game that could be.
