“I'm sorry,” I said, taking my eyes off him as I scrambled out of his hold.

I swallowed hard contemplating whether or not to run off or stay calm.

His facial expressions made me languish wishing I had never asked.

I was confused on why he just stood by the door with mischievousness flitting in his eyes.

“Have I done something wrong?” I asked as I staggered a bit trying to get my footing.

He smirked before turning serious and shifting his gaze.

I could tell from his eyes that I had said something to upset him.

I took a few steps backward, confused on what he had in mind to do exactly.

“I shouldn't have asked that,” I said.

“I'm sorry,” I added with my voice lowered completely.

“I shouldn't have,” I said with my words proceeding with the utmost caution, taking more steps backwards.

He stayed silent still staring into my eyes, giving a look that made me confused even till this day.

It was like a puzzle I couldn't guess.
