Hundred and Fifty seven

SETH

“You what?!” my mother asked as she had her fork placed on the table.

“Seth,” she called out to me.

I wasn't sure what way to react afterward.

Insolent or timid…

“You are not saying anything Seth,” she added.

“Did you?” my mother asked again.

My cheeks were already heating up in embarrassment, as I quietly regretted spilling out such crucial information about myself.

I looked over to my brothers by the table as they stared daggers at me with gaping mouths.

I swallowed the lump of meal stuck in my throat nervously, gritting my teeth in rage.

My eyes narrowed down to my mother who stared at me with so much confusion in her eyes.

“Yes,” I said stuffing food into my mouth to avoid answering more questions from her.

I had it kept from everyone the night it happened, with fear that I was going to be forced into the adult world before even having the urge to want to be an adult.

My thoughts were soon cut off by the soft footsteps of my mother walking towards me.
