As an audience of gossips watched with voices lowered completely, I could hear them whisper almost without words.

My ears picked up the shattering of glass and yelled from afar off along the hallway.

I opened my eyes to find Liam next to me by the bed, just where I have always wanted him to be.

“How do you feel now?” he asked, holding me by the hand.

I felt dizzy taking off the sheets as I rested my back on the headboard.

“It's quite normal for her to experience pains a month early,” the old physician from earlier on said walking towards me holding a glass of water and a pill.

“Have this,” she said.

“This will help numb all the pain you have been feeling,” she added.

Without any objection, I had the drug gulped down my throat with my eyes closed.

“There, there!” the physician said.

“You are going to be just fine,” she added.

In no time she had herself excused leaving me in the company of Liam right next to my bed.
