I twisted the knob on the door that led to my office and halted as I spotted a familiar figure seated in the room.

"Dad."

"Hello son." He smiled at me, I didn't return it.

"What are you doing here so early?" I asked, walking over to my desk.

He shrugged, "Well your mother wanted me to come see you and I couldn't say no."

"Thanks for checking on me. I'm fine, thank you." I said.

"You didn't ask how we're doing." He said.

"I'm sure you're fine."

"How's Hannah?"

I paused my movements and looked up at him, "If you want to know how Hannah is doing, I suggest you ask her."

"She's-"

"I know she went over to yours and probably shed crocodile tears to make you pity her. I suggest that you stop getting her hopes up and allow her file for a divorce."

"Why haven't you filed for it?" He threw the question at me.

"That's because she wouldn't leave me alone until she's fed up and she'll definitely take this to court. I don't need any of that drama." I weakly explained.

"Or maybe you still want to stay married. If you actually hate her as much as you say, you wouldn't mind battling it out in court." He countered my words.

That wasn't true.

"No that's not-"

"You like the feeling of being superior, Zachary. I know, I'm your father." He pinned me with his gaze.

"If you really want her out of your life, you'll let her go and stop making her feel like trash. Don't play with her mental health."

The way my parents always defended her for some reason. They forced me into marrying her and now they wanted to cajole me into loving her. How ridiculous could this be?

"She chose to be played with. She knew from the onset that this marriage would never work and she bullheadedly got into it!" I growled.

"She had to merge her father's company with ours." He pointed out.

"So you admit to putting her in this situation then."

"Excuse me?" He seemed taken aback.

"It was your idea to merge companies and of course seal the deal by getting married. You added that condition on purpose." I argued.

"Our families agreed to it." He said with a tired sigh.

"Not caring about either of us. How selfish does that sound?"

I wondered if they ever heard themselves whenever we spoke about this.

"I was willing to condemn that clause before Carrie-"

"Don't mention her name!" I flared up before I could stop myself. He knew I hated the awful reminder and he still went ahead and called her. How could he?

"Son I'm sorry-"

I raised my palm, "Dad, with all due respect," I swallowed. "I need you to leave my office, please."

He solemnly nodded and backed out of the office still with his apologetic gaze locked on me.

As expected, my entire day had been ruined. I couldn't wait for work hours to end so I could go drink my pain away.

~~~
I got home pretty earlier than usual. I was a little tipsy.
"Hey, how was your day? I made you dinner. It's your fave." She was grinning from ear to ear. What was making her so excited?
"I'm not hungry." I tried brushing past her but she held my arm.
"Zach, listen. I know you haven't eaten all day and if you're expecting Malia to make you something, just know that I sent her home early."
"I'd rather starve than eat anything you make." I spat.
She sucked in a sharp breath.
"What did I ever do to you?"
"You agreed to marry me that's what."
"I didn't force you to say your vows on that altar."
"Well you made my parents force me into it."
"You sound like a child. If you didn't want to be with me, you shouldn't have showed up!"
"File a divorce and let this headache of yours be gone." I staggered a little bit as I said that.
"Have you been drinking?"
I did not respond. Then she reached for my face and I stepped back so quickly, it must have seemed like her touch would burn me.
"I care about you Zach and I really want this to work. I wouldn't have agreed to marry you if I didn't feel something. Please tell me you feel it too." Her voice broke.
I stared at her for a few seconds. I had never stared at her up close for so long. Her long lashes and large doe eyes that gave off so much innocence and sexiness all at once. Then those pouty red lips that I could barely remember pressing my lips on at the wedding. Her milky chocolate skin so smooth my hands twitched to feel it.
"What do you want from me?" My voice had lowered into a rasp.
"I want you to love me,"
I took a step back, shaking my head. That was not going to be possible. I couldn't betray...
"Just for tonight." She said. "Just pretend that you love me this once, that's all I'm-"
I caught her lips with mine before she could complete her statement. Her warmth and softness engulfed me in that moment. I kissed her like my life depended on it and she returned the energy.
I plunged my tongue into her mouth, she tasted of berries, I wanted to drink all that in. My hands roamed her little body covered up by an oversized t-shirt and with my lips still locked on hers, I lifted her off the ground and had her legs wrapped around me.
I turned and made the walk towards the stairs, pinning her on the wall of a few seconds to suck on her neck while she moaned my name continuously. I picked her up again and climbed the stairs and made my way to the one place she hadn't been in since we got married - my bedroom.
I made her stand as soon as we got in. My lips left hers and she moaned in protest. I had other plans. Slowly, I slid my hands inside her top and realized that she was bare and ready for this. Perfect.
I led her to my bed and had her lay down while I took my clothes off. Left in my shorts, I towered over her petite form while her eyes roamed over my half naked self.
"Take it off." I said in a husky whisper, gesturing at the shirt.
With her eyes locked on mine for the most part, she slowly took it off and threw it at me. I smirked. Her bare body was doing things to me and she had better pray she would be able to walk in the morning by the time I would be done with her.
I got into the bed and locked my lips on hers while my fingers dug into her. She gasped. I left her lips and soon went for her hardened nipples.
"Zach!" She cried out when I pumped my fingers inside her while my tongue continued to tease her nipples. Her pants had become irregular when I pulled my fingers out and slid my cock into her and wrapped her legs around my hips as I moved in a steady rhythm.
It's a good thing she had the workers go home early cause her moans were loud. Really loud.
She had a shattering orgasm before I was even halfway close to cumming. And this was just the first round.
Hannah pulled my neck closer to hers in the middle of a thrust. I stopped.
"I want it slower." She panted in my ears. "I want this moment to last."
I wordlessly nodded. If for just one night, I could make her feel better about us and forget that I did not actually love her, I would do just that.
I leaned closer and showered kisses all over her face and neck, intertwining my fingers with hers as I thrusted her slowly and deeply.
She held on to me tightly and I moaned out Carrie's name before I could stop myself while I cummed.
Things turned awkward after that, I couldn't find the will to go into her again after pulling out. I just wanted to sleep. Seemed like she felt the change of energy. She probably thought it was post-nut clarity.
I got off her and laid on my back. I stared at the ceiling for a while before glancing at her. She had covered up with the blanket and was staring into space just like me.
For some reason, I felt bad for her. She did not deserve to be with someone like me. I was a messed up individual who couldn't put my life together after a tragic incident and she had to marry me because she wanted to save her father's company. She was innocent and I made her feel all the guilt that was meant for my parents and I.
I pulled her closer to me. I could tell it startled her. And when she looked at me with questioning eyes, I said;
"Just for tonight remember? The night isn't over yet." I kissed and caressed her once again cause I knew this would never repeat itself. So she could at least enjoy the moment while it lasted.
Or so I thought...
    My eyes opened and I immediately recognized where I was. The rock hard chest my head laid on heaved up and down.I glanced around the dark themed bedroom. Black, white and grey were the most dominant colours with a splash of brown here and there. I had never been in here because he always locked it on his way out and for some reason I didn't bother to search for the spare key. Maybe I was too scared of his reaction if he ever found out that I was snooping around.I glanced up and my eyes met his pointy chin and the outline of his jaw. I raised my head to glance at his features properly. His thin lips that had kissed mine on several accounts last night, his thick lashes made me want to create extensions for mine. His sharp pointy noise that took in my scent in the middle of a deep penetrating thrust. I was wet all over again at the thought. I wanted more of this man. More of his touch, more of his affection and most importantly, his love. I wanted all of him.But then I remembered wha
    I opened my eyes and saw that Zach had left. His side of the bed had gone cold. I sighed, though I was in his bedroom, I still felt abandoned. I felt like a one night stand. A knock on the door had me sitting up. It was Malia."Good morning madam." She came in, holding a tray filled with delicacies."Morning Malia." I yawned."Seems like you had a busy night." She grinned. I held my blanket closer, almost sinking into the bed due to embarrassment. I didn't want to imagine how messy my hair must have looked."No need to be shy now. This is good." Malia reminded me of my mother a lot. If my mom was still in America she would most probably do the same thing Malia did. I was glad she wasn't though. It would hurt her to know that my marriage had gone from two strangers living together to a friends with benefits situation with no strings attached. "He said to bring breakfast for you. He believes you'll be too exhausted to come down to join him.""He's home?""Surprisingly so." She smiled
    I was tired, really tired. My trip has drained me so much, I just wanted to sleep and not do anything else. But of course I had to be in the office because it was necessary.I had been working for a few hours when a knock came through. I scowled. I had specifically told my secretary to not let anyone disturb me. "Come in!" I said and with curious eyes I watched the door to see whoever was behind it. To my greatest surprise, it was Hannah. Wait, Hannah? I got on my feet in reflex. She had never been here before so there had to be something wrong."Hi." She waved, giving me a blank stare. "What are you doing here?""I have something to discuss with you." She barely spared me a glance as she said so. Something had to be really wrong at this point.I offered her a seat and went over to sit down on mine, eagerly awaiting her words despite having an expressionless face on."Here," she stretched a folder over to me. "I need you to sign these." "What are these?" I slowly took the folder an
    It was the weekend and I was taking a walk outside the mansion. The nausea was getting to me really and I needed some air to help dampen it. I waved at Louis as he wiped the cars clean of the morning dew that had settled on them. Shockingly, Zachary's favorite car was one of them. I was surprised that he was even in but of course I had been avoiding him ever since..I had been speaking to James who had been trying to convince me to not go through with the divorce for now because if Zachary did not want to sign, we would have to go to court and the whole back and forth, according to him, would be too stressful for me in my condition. I laughed at all of that.Screw me for picking Zachary's best friend as my divorce lawyer. "Madam!" I turned as Louis called out to me. "Miss Malia said to call you in for breakfast." He said."I'll be there in a minute. Thank you." I said to him before he turned to leave.With one last breath of fresh air, I turned back around to head into the house.Z
"Your mom is in the guest room downstairs?""Exactly." She made to walk away.I held her arm, "Where are you going?""Back to my room, duh?" She removed her arm from my grip hurriedly."I thought we had a deal." I said."We did. We have to pretend in front of my mom and she's not coming upstairs anytime soon so I do not have to share a room with you." She responded."What are you running away from?" I smirked."Running away? We've had separate rooms since forever Zachary." She scoffed.I shut my eyes. Though I didn't want to admit it, I liked it when she called my whole name in a somewhat deep and sarcastic tone."You know I like it when you call my name like that."     I was so mad. Who the hell did Zachary think he was to throw his instructions in my face? Yes, he saved my father's company but who was he to try and stop me from building my father's legacy? I paced the room several times, venting in my thoughts."Maybe getting pregnant on purpose was a mistake." I said aloud."Don't say that! A child is a blessing." Marv exclaimed."I know Marv but I think I'm about to have a child for the wrong man." I sulked."Told you so." She muttered. My eyes snapped up to the screen. "Really Marv?" I frowned."You know I'll always tell you the truth. This man does not deserve you." She shrugged.I let out a long sigh. She was absolutely right. What the heck was I thinking in the first place? "Well why didn't you stop me from going through with this?" I accused cause I needed someone to blame for my silliness."Like you ever listen to me." She rolled her eyes with a scoff."I wish I did."     "Can you believe that?!" I exclaimed. James was having the best laugh while I was utterly frustrated because of the woman I married. "Well I think it's a very smart move from her end because why not?" He chuckled."You have got to be kidding me." I took a quick sip from my glass, glancing at him through from the corner of my eye."It's not like you can't afford it." He reasoned out."Of course I can but isn't that too much for a woman to ask? I'm still her husband." I mean who asks for such an outrageous amount of money to carry her husband's child?"You treat her like a baby mama, so she's simply returning the energy." He shrugged casually."You always take Hannah's side." I accused him."You've been a jerk and I'm a feminist." And he admitted to it. Asshole!"I can't love her man, this is the best I can do for her."   • Stuck In Matrimony   Epilogue~~Birth Miracle
    Months had rolled by and that chilly Sunday morning while basking in the warmth of worship, her water broke. It was about time, she had been waiting long enough even more anxiously cause they wanted to keep the baby's gender a surprise. The last gender reveal didn't end so well anyways. "How are we doing?" The nurse on duty that had come to be her fave asked when she walked in with Zach who had been frantic ever since she told him it was time. "Great! I guess," She shrugged. "You're sure?" "I'm not in a lot of pain so I don't even know if I can say I'm in labour." She chuckled nervously. Hannah had read about how excruciating labour pains were and now she that she wasn't feeling so much, she didn't know how to feel about it/ "I guess you're one of the lucky ones." She pointed the gun straight at my forehead.With his hands raised in surrender, Zach stepped back a few paces. "Marv just let her go. You don't have to do this.""It wouldn't have come to this if you had just done the right thing." She said through gritted teeth, not at all shifting the gun from the targeted spot on my forehead. I gulped."What do you mean?" He asked."Can't you see Zachary? I've loved you for so long and all you've ever done is have eyes for someone else. Anyone but me, I'm sick of it!""And this bitch," she shoved my head with the gun, "She always escapes every death trap I plot for her.     I had been awake, thankful they did not knock me unconscious. I didn't know who my abductor was and I was eager to see if it was whom I thought it was. I waited, tied up in a dimly lit room, somehow not terrified of whatever or whomever it was that was going to walk through that door. "I put my faith in Jesus, he never let me down. Faithful through generations, so why would make he fail now? He won't." I sang lowly, rocking myself as gently as I could on the steely seat. "HE won't fail... He won't." "Impressive voice." I chuckled. "Just as I thought," I said, smiling at her. "Hello Marv." "Hello Hannah." She returned my greeting with a smile splaying on her deep red lips. "So you had to resort to this...?" I looked around the ill-fated room once again finally able to express my irritation not because of the scrawny place but the person who had me locked up in here. She shrugged. "Yes I had to resort to this. You refused to stop getting in the way." Tilting my head, I asked,
He whined, when I resisted his embrace."Zach you're going to be late."He seemed apologetic when he said, "I don't wanna leave you.""I don't want you to go either." I admitted. I was craving his company a lot more than usual but this meeting was important, he couldn't miss it for anything. And from the look of things, he was going to be away for the whole day. I bit back a laugh as he started his presentation, so serious like this was million-dollar deal he was pitching for. "The first reason I'd like to show you as to why we should have more babies is," He swiped the screen of his phone and I watched as the picture on the TV switched to a different one. It was fervent and the more we prayed, the more I saw visual examples of the trial that was on the way. It took a lot to not stumble back in trepidation but the realization that our God is bigger kept us strong and steady. It was nearly three in the morning when we came to a pause and as we laid next to each other, I decided to tell Him all I saw while we prayed. "Someone doesn't want us to be together Zach.
