Chapter 30: Chloe Escapes Sympathies
"There you are!" Kendra came rushing up to her with Kat in tow.
"Hey, I'm headed to the restroom." Chloe looked over at Kat, who instantly gave her a quick hug then looked embarrassed at the act. "Thank you for coming, Kat."
"Sorry for your loss and everything. Terrible. It shouldn't have happened to you. You're like the nicest person I know." Kat said.
"Thank you." Chloe really did like Kat, but she did need to go to the restroom. "Kat, I love you, but I gotta pee. It's proving to be tough to get out of this room."
"Oh! No worries, Chloe. Just take me with you." Chloe wasn't sure how on earth that was supposed to help her. But no sooner had Chloe thought this, and Kat started wailing and sobbing uncontrollably. Chloe looked at her like she'd lost it, and everyone around stopped what they were doing and looked aghast at the three of them.

Chloe went into the living room and picked up the last couple of days worth of take-out boxes: Chinese, Pizza, Taco wrappers, and ice cream containers. She peeled a taco off the wall. "What time is it? Shouldn't we be getting ready to go?" Chloe asked. It felt as though that massage lasted hours. "We've still got nearly 4 hours." "Oh." When Chloe finally made it back to the guest bedroom, Kendra had cleaned up and was fully dressed. So much for that decade's worth of sexual release, Chloe thought to herself and went off to look for a black dress. Chloe had managed to find a black dress that went to her knees. It had a swing skirt with a black satin ribbon around the hem, and the top and sleeves were lace with a satin camisole slip she wore underneath. The next morning Chloe got up extra early and threw on a pair of jeans and a t-shirt Kendra had left for her so she wouldn't have to wear her Jon clothes. She was out of the house by seven and headed first to Starbucks for a white chocolate mocha, which she got with skim milk but wasn't sure if that made much of a difference.
