Sonia said hurriedly, "Relax, Jake. I'm not going to demand too much, and I won't ask for our relationship to be made official. I just want to bear a child… Your child. I know how important a woman's first time is for you. It was my first time when we did it, so I want to bear this child as a gift to you.

"It doesn't matter if Ms. Bridgerton isn't interested in having children. I'm willing to bear your child for you, and I won't ask for anything other than to let me stay with you."

Jake sighed and patted her shoulder. "We can save that discussion for later. We still need to clarify the situation to Mindy once you feel better."
