Lucy stood outside her mom’s door and hesitated whether she should knock or not. Remembering everything that she had done to her mother, she felt so ashamed of herself that she just wished she could die.

She had helped the mistress break her parents’ marriage, and she had almost driven her mom crazy when she said to her face that she did not consider her as her mother.

Although she had been a child at that time and she had been under the influence of Catherine, she knew that she could not push the blame to someone else.

If she had not been so stupid, none of this would have happened.

Lucy stood outside the door, unsure of what she was supposed to do. She did not know if her mother was willing to see her. She knew that her mother must hate her so much to the point that she regretted giving birth to her.
