Chapter 4

A moment ago…

The sound of people retching could be heard as everyone vomited all the wine they had drunk. They thought that Castro was kidding when he ordered them to vomit everything that they had drunk.

What was more surprising to them was when he called Lucy, the woman that they had insulted as his boss.

Val and her minions had their faces turn pale from fright and they wished that they could just die right there and then.

They could not have imagined that a man as charismatic as Castro would actually refer to Lucy as his boss.

Just who the hell was this woman?

Now, when they looked at her, it was as if they were looking at something strange, something they have never seen in their lives.

Outside the hotel…

Although the man’s embrace was warm and Lucy did not feel like moving away, she still had some self-awareness left in her.

She quickly moved away from Castro’s embrace and maintained a distance between them. Her heart was still pounding hard from what had just happened and she was not sure if she will ever calm down.

The man’s rich voice kept on ringing in her ears, “The woman you have just insulted is the apple of my eye. She is in fact my boss and you are not even worth of her pinkie.”

“So, how dare you say that my woman is like you lots? Do you realize that she can get rid of you all just by a lift of her finger?”

Lucy was lost in her thoughts that she did not even realize that she was about to hit a tree.

Castro looked at her and said in his deep voice, “Watch where you are going.”

“Huh?”

“Are you okay?” he inquired as he looked at Lucy with his deep gaze.

It was slightly dark outside so Lucy could not make out the man’s features but his piercing gaze was enough to make Lucy’s heart to skip a beat.

Although she could barely make out how the man looked like, her instincts told her that this man was not a simple character. In fact, he gave out a very dangerous vibe.

 Remembering what the man had said in the bar earlier, Lucy felt her head pound. She was already homeless with barely nothing to live for, how the hell was she going to foot all the millions of bills?

She did not know why the man had said that but she had to get clean with him.

“Sir, thank you for saving me earlier, I really do appreciate that but the problem is, I don’t have any money to pay all the bill!”

“I… I just came out to drown my sorrow. I did not expect that I would invite trouble for myself.”

“I really don’t know how to thank you.”

“Marry me.” Castro said out of the blues.

His statement not only shocked him, but it also shocked his driver and assistant who were not far away from him.

As for Lucy, her heart stopped beating for a while and she felt like the earth had stopped moving and she was in a standstill.

What just happened? Was this man out of his mind? They have just met less than thirty minutes ago and he was already proposing?

Although he was very handsome, something seemed to be wrong with his head. Or was he not mentally sound?

A lot of thoughts were going through Lucy’s mind it was as if she was about to have a mental breakdown.

Although Castro was stunned by what he had just said, he came back to his senses after a moment of shock and quickly adjusted his emotions.

It was too late to take back his words now and he could only hope that he did not scare the little rabbit away.

He looked at Lucy and stated, “Err, what I meant to say was that…”

Lucy regained her senses when she heard that Castro was about to say something else and quickly stopped him, “Sir, thank you for your help earlier, I think that I should take my leave now.”

How she wished she had wings; she would just have flown away and hid far away from this dangerous man.

Her legs were quick but the man’s long arms were quicker. She had just taken a few steps forward when the man held her by her wrist, making her unable to move.

Lucy’s heart thumped hard. She was a helpless woman who was drunk and her head was already spinning from all the drama that she had experienced from the bar, was this man a hooligan and he was going to take advantage of her helplessness and mess with her?

No, she was not going to let the man have his way. If he tried anything funny, the she would bite her tongue off and die.

Trying to stay as calm as she could, Lucy tried hard to figure out the man’s expression but it was all in vain.

“Sir, I am telling you that if you try to take advantage of me, then I will kill myself right here.”

“Although you saved me, you cannot behave the way you want with me.”

Castro knew that his words might have scared her and he too was shocked by what he said, but he had already made up his mind not to take his words back.

The funny thing was that, his mood became better after seeing the little rabbit defensive expression. It felt as if she could not wait to pounce on him and bite him to death.

Castro, who had always been serious and always maintained a poker expression in the company of women, felt like teasing Lucy all of a sudden. It was a feeling he had not had for years now and it got him excited just thinking about it, for some unknown reasons.

“Why are you looking at me as if I am the biggest bastard you have ever met in your life?”

“Are you not? Do you even know my name? Do you even know anything about me? How dare you say something as gross as getting married? I am never getting married again in this lifetime?”

Castro caught on the key words and he was shocked for a few seconds. Did that mean that Lucy had been married before? But how old was she? Looking at her face, she did not look like someone who had even finished college yet.

…

“That is what happened. That scumbag actually had the guts to ask for a divorce!”

“Is that why you were crying the other day on the road? By the way, how are you doing? The doctors said that you ran out of the hospital before you could finish your treatment.”

“How did you… wait… are you the one who took me to the hospital the other day?”

“Yes.”

“Now, I owe you again!”

“There is no need to be formal, aren’t we friends already?”

“Where should we drop you?” Castro asked when he saw that Lucy had stopped talking. Although he had tried his best to make her relax, he could tell from her facial expression that she was still tensed. He did not want to stress her out, so it was better if he took her home.

When Lucy heard the question, she answered absentmindedly, “Just drop me anywhere on the streets. I have nowhere to go.”

The next day…

“Why are you dressed so seductively? Do you think that you can win Josh back by playing such cheap tricks?” Michelle said as she looked at Lucy. Jealousy was almost dripping from her eyes.

Lucy was more beautiful than her in every aspect. Although she had done so many plastic surgeries, she could not just attain the figure that she had always dreamed of.

Seeing how smug Lucy was acting, she wished that she could just tear her apart.

Lucy looked at Michelle with nothing but coldness in her eyes. She was so disgusted by her that she did not feel like breathing the same air as Michelle.

“What are you looking at?”

“I am just pitying you.”

“Why? You should pity yourself since you are the one getting divorced and not me.”

“Haha, you know what, I cannot wait to actually sign those papers so that I can give you guys all my blessings.”
