Fridays aren’t specifically my Hana days. Yes, we have that schedule even in the summer to keep it fair, and yes, I did my opening on a Thursday. But the guys were fine with me teleporting Hana to London to try and straighten all this stuff with Jewell. Being a demon that can teleport certainly saves travel time and costs. I was a night owl, even as a human. I’ve never truly missed going out during the day until Hana. I hate that I miss so much time with her. Even though she scheduled her time to be with me, I know it won’t always be that simple. She will have a job, not an internship, and not classes, where having one day a week where she flips to nocturne won’t be easy or possible. It’s not just the time we make for each other that I lament about my vampirism. I also rarely attend big events that are scheduled during the day. Today, however, is an event I refuse to miss. I knew life would get crazy after I graduated with my Juris Doctorate and officially became an associate at Kearney & Associates. We moved full-time to Portland. I knew I’d need to be here full-time for work, but I wasn’t sure if Albert, Isak, and Aidan would since they had their jobs at Yale. They decided to quit—something about not needing the money and claims it would give them more time to focus on TMA. Aidan lasted all of one month into what would’ve been the fall semester before he was getting antsy with only TMA work to do.
