Epilogue Part 1 - Isak

Returning to New Haven after everything that happened over winter break was complicated. As a freshman, Hana was required to keep her dorm with Pamela on campus. None of us were fans of that. We wanted her to live with us in our house off campus. Hana, of course, managed to find a solution that would accommodate all parties and ensure equal time with her.

As bland as it may sound to others, Hana devised a schedule for us. Sundays and Wednesdays, she would stay at her dorm, hanging out with Pamela and being able to focus on her studies without the three of us as potential distractions. Albert got Mondays, I got Tuesdays, Aidan got Thursdays, we share her on Fridays, and we alternate Saturdays. That means in a month, we will each get a Saturday with her, and at least one week a month, we’ll have back-to-back time with all four of us.

Albert had been worried about being left out because he sleeps all day. Hana found a way around that. Since she had no classes on Monday, she would come

gotta love favoritism ... at least it's only Bert that holds it against Isak

“Then change it. You’re the angel who befriended a demon and a vampire. You’re the angel who mated a hunter who was a werewolf pack member. The only faction you mentioned you haven’t connected yourself to are witches.” Dad encouraged me. “Well, that’s not entirely accurate. I’ve not formally met her, but through Hana and Bloodmoon, I have a tentative connection to Luna Katrina D’Amore, a coven leader in Sicily.” I shrugged, sipping my coffee. There was a pause—a poignant one. I don’t need to see my father’s face to read him. His breathing is something of a giveaway. Mentioning Katrina triggered him. But why? How? “What happened? Why are you suddenly silent after I mentioned Luna Katrina and her coven? What’s the real reason you called me?” I questioned. “It’s nothing you need to worry about. You’ve made your stance on being involved in handling your people when they cross lines; either punishing or protecting isn’t something you care about.” Dad said. “Don’t do that, father. You

Why did I accept this? Nothing about this situation feels right. Nothing that’s connected to Scorcha could ever be good. That cunt was the bane of my existence. The world and I are better off without her. It’s been over a year, and my life is fantastic. I have a gorgeous, intelligent, sweet, and smart-mouthed mate. I still live with my two best friends, and we participate in a foursome at least once a week. Granted, we share our mate, so it’s not weird. I have a job I love at Yale, spend my summers in Portland, and am opening a new nightclub in Portland. We’re a year into the launch of Isak’s spite brainchild, The Mythical Alliance. Getting this endeavor off the ground had been a lot of hard work. The Order had been around forever, and the alliance between the three factions was still flimsy. We’ve added werewolves, witches, and hunters to the mix. Even though the six faction leaders, Me, Isak, Albert, Hana, Alec, and Katrina, get along swimmingly, getting our people on the same

Fridays aren’t specifically my Hana days. Yes, we have that schedule even in the summer to keep it fair, and yes, I did my opening on a Thursday. But the guys were fine with me teleporting Hana to London to try and straighten all this stuff with Jewell. Being a demon that can teleport certainly saves travel time and costs. Once we’d gotten checked into the Kimpton Fitzroy Hotel, it was already two o’clock in the afternoon. That’s the annoying thing about teleporting, time zone changes, and jet lag. We’d left Portland at six o’clock to try and get here before it was too late. Even then, it would be close to meeting with the lawyer and getting things started to confirm whether I’m even related to this little girl. Hana squeezed my hand as we entered the law firm that’d sent me the papers. “How can I help you?” the secretary asked. “I called ahead to see Gladwyn Scrivens. I’m Aidan McCabe.” I explained. “Right. Mister Scrivens is expecting you, so head on in.” She nodded to the office

I was a night owl, even as a human. I’ve never truly missed going out during the day until Hana. I hate that I miss so much time with her. Even though she scheduled her time to be with me, I know it won’t always be that simple. She will have a job, not an internship, and not classes, where having one day a week where she flips to nocturne won’t be easy or possible. It’s not just the time we make for each other that I lament about my vampirism. I also rarely attend big events that are scheduled during the day. Today, however, is an event I refuse to miss. Hana is graduating today with her bachelor’s degree. She has three more years to get her Juris Doctorate, but today is still very important. So, I tried to protect my combustible self from the sun and headed to Old Campus for the ceremony. I hadn’t told the others I was going because it took much bartering to get the sunscreen that could temporarily protect me from the sunlight. Through Katrina and the witch faction of The Mythical

I gave her another kiss after I parked. As I got out, I looked down our long driveway and shook my head at the number of vehicles. I left it to Hana to explain how I walked in daylight while I made a beeline inside, thinking only of a nap before sunset. “Hey Albert, how did…” Isak’s middle brother Phil started to ask, but I waved him off and headed upstairs. I woke up to a gaggle of kinderwolves, two kinder humans, and one cambion kinder giggling. I cautiously opened one eye and spotted Jewell holding a super soaker, giggling, with Rose and Farah aiming. That is not happening. “Jewell Marie Reardon… if you or any of your friends let one drop of water hit my floor or bed, I’m sicking Hana on you.” I threatened. It wasn’t hollow. Hana has a rule about water fights after the great water gun wars our first summer with Jewell. Hana made a clear rule: no water gun fights in her house unless you want them smashed. I saw the defeat in Jewell’s eyes. That’s right, kid. I might not hurt a c

I knew life would get crazy after I graduated with my Juris Doctorate and officially became an associate at Kearney & Associates. We moved full-time to Portland. I knew I’d need to be here full-time for work, but I wasn’t sure if Albert, Isak, and Aidan would since they had their jobs at Yale. They decided to quit—something about not needing the money and claims it would give them more time to focus on TMA. Aidan lasted all of one month into what would’ve been the fall semester before he was getting antsy with only TMA work to do. He needed more to do, and while I suggested he take on some of the archaeological digs that the Adio guild was working on, he wanted to be present with me and Jewell. So, he picked up a job at the University of Oregon. It’s not Yale, but it keeps him busy. And I suppose I won’t complain that he’s home every night.Isak and Albert have been fine with taking a more consistently active role as faction leaders. Jewell was thrilled with the permanent Portland mov

I hurried as best as my pregnant ass could in the direction of the office, knowing I’d be safe among the Kearneys and other pack members that work there—two more blocks. Just two more blocks, and I’d be home free. That’s what I told myself and my baby as I rubbed my belly. She was not happy with all this sudden movement. She may also have picked up my anxiety about the situation, and given she’s half angel, demon, or vampire, she might sense the danger that angel was.I could see the large office building coming into view. My phone was buzzing like crazy, but I couldn’t answer it. I was single-minded. I needed to get myself and, therefore, my baby to safety. Safety was the Kearney law firm. Safety was among my pack. Before I got another step, I was grabbed, a hand over my mouth to stop me from screaming as we blinked out of the street.I blinked as we arrived in a dark room. Oh, this mother fucker was going to pay. I snarled, biting his hand with the savagery of a wolf or a fox. I’ve n

  • Seducing The Bloodmoon Princess    The Demon's Claim - Intro

The following chapters are the short story The Demon's Claim. In this short story, we will see events from Pamela Batista and Malcolm Dawson's points of view. This means we'll see what happened that even Hana and the stooges didn't witness.Pamela Batista: There are two things I've wanted to find. The first is that humans aren't alone in the universe. Second, a chunk just for me. Malcolm Dawson checks all the boxes on my chunk list. I didn't realize he would also be the link to intelligent life beyond the human race. If I weren't thrilled by this revelation, I would be terrified to learn demons, angels, vampires, and werewolves are real. Malcolm Dawson: As a cambion, hybrid demon, Aidan McCabe was the only pureblood to treat me like I belonged. And while I am always willing to help him, involving Pam in whatever he and his friends are doing is going too far. She's different from other girls, and I won't let him put her in danger.

  • Seducing The Bloodmoon Princess    Epilogue - Malcolm

I know they say that time flies when you’re having fun. I’ve never really thought about the passage of time and how fast it can go. I’ve always been an in-the-moment kind of guy. However, certain changes in my life have me contemplating that saying—not only considering it but also worrying about it. I don’t want time to fly. It’s been ten years since my life changed forever. It’s hard to imagine a decade of Pam in my life. I won’t say the years flew by, or they went at a snail’s pace. I savored every day I’ve had her in my life. From the day I met her on the rugby pitch to the day, I knew I couldn’t live without her to the day I proposed to her by Iris Pond, to the day we got married in a very intimate ceremony by Iris Pond, to today when our new house in an uproar of decorating for our baby shower party. Yes, you heard that right. A baby shower. That’s why I’m contemplating the passage of time in ways I never had. It still feels like it was just yesterday that I’d gotten on one kne

The further we got from the restaurant and my parents, the more relaxed I became. I am so glad they live far the fuck away from me. I don’t need that kind of pressure and negativity in my life. I wasn’t already super close to my family, to begin with, and now that I have this supernatural secret, it’s even less. Couldn’t they have just been happy for me? I graduated from a prestigious university. I have a well-paying job lined up for me in my field. I have a nice apartment lined up to move into. Best of all, I have a great and supportive boyfriend. These are things any parent should be over the moon about. I’m not the first kid in the family to graduate from college, but I’m the first who didn’t move home for a year or more after graduation to ‘get on my feet.’ “Pam, you know we didn’t need to rush out. I was perfectly prepared and ready to deal with your parents.” Malcolm said. “I know, but you shouldn’t have to. They’re my family, and I’ll handle them.” I shook my head. “That’

It’s been three and a half years since my world turned upside down. Things I thought were myths suddenly became real, and the world, which was already dangerous, became a thousand times worse. Sure, I’ve been in therapy to work through my abduction and this newfound knowledge of the supernatural. I still have sessions with Doctor Westbrook, but rather than weekly, it’s usually just a biannual check-in. Having Hana and especially Malcolm in my life has made dealing with this new reality easier. The guys at DKE were more relaxed around me once Malcolm not only told them we were dating but that I knew the truth. I thanked the ones who came to help save me. As for the ones that betrayed Hana and her stooges, my meddling wasn’t necessary. Malcolm and Harris had kicked all their asses, and when the frat president returned from break, they were formally expelled from the frat. I accepted that I could never tell my family about the supernatural. Not that they’d believe me if I did. However,

It was weird being around so many werewolves. Sure, we have our share of hybrid werewolves in DKE. Hell, Corin, Derek, and Edward are on the rugby team with me. So, I have no issues with wolves. It’s just different being around full-blooded ones. No one was outright rude or anything. I didn’t like all the eyes on me. I felt like they had a lot of questions they wanted to ask but didn’t know if they should ask them. “If no one’s going to ask it, I’m gonna.” One of the wolves spoke up. “Ask who what, Silvercloud?” Aidan asked, folding his arm as he leaned on the wall with me while we waited for Hana and Pam to finish their talk. I recognized the name Silvercloud—not as a person’s name but as a corporation. It was a tech company that I knew well as a mechanical engineering major. I’ve tried to get internships there but have yet to submit a presentation that was up to snuff. “Silvercloud? Like the tech company?” I asked. “Yes and no.” Aidan shrugged. “That…” He nodded his chin toward

“Where was I? Oh right. Albert, well, he’s a vampire. There are some dampires in DKE, meaning the children of a male vampire and a human woman. Dampires have potential powers, but they won’t be unlocked unless they are turned.” She explained. “McHickey is a vampire? Okay, that I can totally believe. No one ever sees him during the day. And I’ve bumped into him, and he’s cold, literally.” I nodded, which made the most sense of everything she’d told me. “How will that work? If you have to share a bed with him, it’ll be like a human-sized ice cube under the covers. Is his dick cold too?” Hana pinched the bridge of her nose. “I… wouldn’t know. I haven’t done anything like that with any of them.” “Fine, but after you do, you need to tell me. I’m curious.” I chuckled. “I’m willing to accept that these things are real. But how does that all add up to what happened to me?” “So Isak, Aidan, and Albert used to be part of the Order of the Jade Seal. The child vampire, Azer, and the African an

Waking up in a strange bed in a strange place was weird. I at least had Malcolm with me. If I kept my eyes closed, I could pretend we were still at Yale in his frat dorm room. That was normal. That made sense. No getting kidnapped off an airplane by a teacher. No being held prisoner by three crazy people. No fearing for my life. No seeing my new bestie shoot three people in the head. No washing brain chunks out of my hair. And no crazy conspiracy theories flooding my mind to try and explain it all away. Of course, I couldn’t stay in bed and pretend it was all just some nightmare. I’m Pamela Grace Batista. I’ve got a reputation to uphold. So, I put on my brave face. I tried to be upbeat. After finding Hana, I focused more on all the eye candy her hometown had to offer. Though not even the smorgasbord of chunks or finding out Malcolm had been calling me, his girlfriend could truly erase all the anxiety and trauma I was trying to bury. I was glad Hana didn’t plan for us to have brea

After I’d walked Pam to my room, I returned to the kitchen with my frat brothers. For those that were innocent, I understood and would apologize to them later. All this is blindsiding them. For those that are the rats, those fuckers should’ve seen this coming. Our frat motto is Kerothen Philoi Aei, which means Friends from the Heart, Forever. You don’t betray your friends. “You get all their phones?” I asked. “Right here. No one’s going to alert the enemy.” Harris nodded, holding up a grocery bag full of phones. “Why did you have Harris take our phones?” Sal asked. “And what is he talking about ‘enemy’?” Tomaso demanded. If either of them is involved in this, I don’t know how I’ll handle it. They are more than my frat brothers; they are my teammates. Also, if they are involved in this, I don’t know how I’d explain to Coach and the rest of the team why they’re at best on the injured list next semester or, at worst, dead. I didn’t want to think of that possibility, but I knew I had

After texting Hana, I took the initiative. Just call me Santa Pam. I played McFingers like a damn fiddle bringing up Dai-suk-it. He and his friends were already making their plans. I couldn’t hear what they said in that room, but I could imagine. The look on Aidan’s face was priceless when I told him Hana’s lackluster fling was sniffing around. I’ve never seen someone move as fast as he did to return to his room. I checked my flight status on my phone as I entered the frat’s kitchen. I knew there wouldn’t be many guys here over break, but there were close to twenty guys in the kitchen, and they all went silent when I walked in. I arched my eyebrow as everyone turned to look at me. “Um. Hi. Did I interrupt some super-secret frat meeting?” I joked. “Yes.” “No.” “This is bullshit.” “What’s she doing here?” “Get out.” “Are we done here?” It was a cacophony of different answers. Some contradicted each other, and others were just rude. Like fuck you very much. Who the fuck i
