Alpha Jon’s POV
“It's here, Jon,” Sam voiced as he parked his car in front of a yellow-painted restaurant with ‘Royal Cuisines,’ crested in front of it.We got down and began to make our way to the place with Sam walking just behind me.My heart pounded very quickly as I wondered how Caro was going to react to seeing me. I didn't know if she'd ever want to set her eyes on me and I didn't want us to create a scene either. As soon as we got inside, I scanned the place with my eyes to see if I could spot her somewhere but I didn't. Yet, I knew that she was there. There was no hiding it. I could smell her from where I stood, beside a table where a couple were enjoying their cocktail and having a good laugh. I just had to look further. It didn't take long for Sam to tap me on the arm. I turned to him and he looked at his left hand. Behold, there stood Caro, talking to two men who were probably placing their orders and my heart beat even faster.I waited for her to be done with the men, and then I quickly walked up to her and tapped her.“What the…’’ she gasped, clearly surprised to see me. Why not? Who would have thought that I'd step foot into enemy territory to see her? Not Caro. Not with the way that we parted.“Please, Caro, can we talk?” I asked her in the softest way possible. She froze for a second and just stared at me without saying a word. I could tell she still felt something for me. I was so sure. I just didn't know what it was that she felt.“What are you doing here?” She finally asked. “How the hell did you find me?”“I've been looking for you for over two years now, Caro,” I revealed to her. I hoped it'd help her hear me out at least. “I just want us to talk.”“You shouldn't have wasted your time then,” she casually remarked. “You've spent all these years for nothing. I want nothing to do with you. Please, leave and never come back. I'm warning you.”“Please, Caro, just hear me out,” I quickly grabbed her hand as she turned to leave. “I know that I have wronged you so badly. I don't deserve to even stand here before you. I deeply apologise for all that happened. I don't know what…”“Let go of her right now!” I felt a hand push me from behind, causing me to almost fall but I stood my ground. It was Alpha Boris. He glared at me as he stood right next to Caroline who was almost on the verge of tears. He wasn't alone either. He had two men with him and they didn't look too friendly. “Bold of you to dare step foot into this Pack,” Boris remarked with a smirk. “I thought it was a joke when I heard that you came here. I could kill you right where you stand. Leave now before my mercy grows thin.”“I'm not going anywhere without Caro,” I defiantly replied. I was ready to fight him and anyone he sent my way, just to be with Caro. I wasn't one to cower or bow in the face of threats. I'm sure he knew that already. “Come, Caro, we can talk this out. I'm sorry for all that I did to you.”“Just leave!” Caro yelled at me, tearing more profusely this time. “You've already caused me so much pain. What more do you want from me?”“I want you, Caro. I want you back in my life.” I made my way to her and held onto her shoulders tightly. She tried to push me away but I refused to let go. “Please, Caro. Forgive me. I want you back. I can't survive without you. My life has been a mess since you left. Please…”“Let go of my woman right now!” Boris punched me in the face and followed it up with a hard kick on my stomach. “Caro and I are together. You cannot come to my Pack and lay your filthy hands on my woman. You had your chance and you blew it. Now, leave!”I wanted to charge at him, to let him have a piece of me for putting his hands on me, but I couldn't. I didn't want to make things worse between Caro and me, especially since he called himself her man.“Is that true, Caro? Are you in a relationship with this monster?” I asked, surprised that she'd let herself fall for such a man.“Boris is not a monster. You are. You sent me out of your house after sleeping with my best friend,” she mouthed in anger. “I was robbed and almost killed and Boris here is the only reason that I'm alive. He has been taking care of me since I got here. I have this job all thanks to him. You are the monster, Jon. You tossed three years of our lives away like it was nothing. I hate you!”“I’m sorry for what I did to you, but this man is lying to you, Caro. He's deceiving you. Don't trust anything that comes out of his mouth,” I warned her. “Please, just come with me. Sam and I will take you home.”“This is my home, Jon. I'm not leaving…”Before she could finish her talk, her eyes lit up and I quickly turned to see why. A young lady walked into the restaurant with three young boys who looked to be about four years old.“Daddy,” the boys yelled in delight as they ran to Boris and hugged him. Then, they turned to Caro who was trying to wipe the tears off her face.“What's the problem, Mom? Why are you crying?”“Mom?” I thought. “These are her children? Truly, she wasn't barren? What a fool I was to believe Susan.”“I’m fine, boys. Come and hug mommy,” she faked a smile and they all hugged her.Yet, I couldn't help but feel like I was connected to the kids. As they turned to look at me, the one in the middle looked very much like me. “Could they be my children? Was she pregnant when I sent her away?”These questions kept running around my mind. I recalled that on that day, she had visited the hospital and only just returned when I rejected her. What if she was just about to tell me that she was pregnant?“Are these…”“They're our children, Boris and I,” she quickly cut me short. “I'm sure you heard them call him dad.”“Caroline and I will be getting married soon,” Boris revealed to my shock. “Maybe, I'll be kind enough to invite you. Till then, leave this place and never return.”“Let's go, Jon,” Sam urged me. “There's nothing to do here.”“This is not over, yet. I'll be back for you, Caro,” I promised, taking a look at the children one more time before turning around to leave.“You'll be signing your death warrant, Jon!”Caroline’s POVBoris quickly led me out of the restaurant and we went straight home without even informing my manager. Well, she saw what happened earlier and decided to head inside so I was certain she'd understand. As soon as we got to the house, I sat on the sofa with my hands on my head and the maids took the kids inside. I shook my head a few times, trying to put myself together after what just happened earlier. I thought he was gone for good. It had been many years. I thought I was never going to set my eyes on that man anymore. I was already beginning to get over him. Why now? Why did he even show up at this time? To what end?I had no answers to those questions. All that I knew was that my head was everywhere. It was an emotional rollercoaster. Tears made their way down my cheeks and I could do nothing to stop them. “I've told you to stop crying,” Boris tried to console me. He walked to the sofa where I was and sat beside me, placing his hand on my back. “You need to stop l
Jon’s POV“I think we should give this up, Jon. It's too dangerous,” Sam tried to advise me after we returned from the Black Fur Pack. “I told you that it was a bad idea.”Five times, we had gone there in a space of two weeks, just to see Caro but we failed. I went to the restaurant several times but she didn't show up. I wondered if it was Boris who asked her not to.We had gone there just like the previous times, but this time, it was different. We were cornered by five men who were sent by Boris to kill us for disobeying his warning. They were no match for us in the end. Sam barely even lifted a finger as I destroyed them in the twinkle of an eye. I was disappointed though. How lowly Boris must have thought of me to send those weaklings to fight me. It was either that or his warriors were weak.“Too dangerous? For me?” I asked, pointing to myself with a surprised look on my face. “You might have forgotten who you're talking to.”“I know, Alpha. I know that you're the strongest wolf
Caroline's POVAs the days went by, I got more and more worried about what was to come. I had been indoors for several days, just so I wouldn't get to meet with Jon.I stayed away from the office for a week and I heard that for five days, he didn't stop going there to find me. Thankfully, I was nowhere to be found. Yet, a part of me wondered what he wanted to say to me.After that, he stopped. Well, not completely. He only stopped looking for me by himself. Instead, he sent some people to do that job for him.I got flowers daily from the men he sent for four days straight with small notes alongside them. Each time, I tossed the flowers to the ground immediately reading his notes which were full of apologies and love stuff. He wanted to fool me again but I wasn't going to let him. I was much wiser than he knew me to be. I wasn't that girl that he toyed with the way he wanted. Right? I mean, a part of me wanted to be fooled once again, to believe that this time, he loved me for real an
Alpha Jon's POVHiding behind a black SUV with Sam by my side, I looked on to see if Caro would show up. I sent her a message alongside a beautiful bunch of flowers and although she was fond of tossing them away, I hoped that somehow, she'd show up this time.“Maybe this was a mistake,” Sam remarked as we saw no sign of Caro anywhere. “It seems like she won't be showing up today. We have to find another way to get her, Jon. We should leave before someone spots us.”“Just hold on a bit longer. Maybe, she can still show up,” I replied, hopeful that she'd be there. For minutes, we waited, watching people troop in and out of the restaurant, still, there was no sign of her. The more we waited, the more I lost hope that she'd be there. Yet, I found myself unable to leave.Twenty more minutes and I knew it was time to leave. There was only so much that I could do. Caroline's POVI walked back to the restaurant, thinking deeply about what Jon had said to me. “Boris is not who you think he is.”That statement kept ringing over and over in my head. If he wasn't the kind,. softhearted man, who has always been there for me, who was he then? All through the day, I couldn't get the thought out of my head. I caught myself distracted over and over at work. Even my coworkers noticed that something was wrong and even asked if I'd prefer to leave, just so I wouldn't mess things up. Two more hours, and I knew it was time to head back home. Thankfully, my decisions didn't have much of a consequence on my job, especially since Boris was involved. One more reason why I wondered what made Jon talk about him in that way. “Maybe, he's just trying to turn me against Boris so that I'd return to him,” I thought in my heart as I left for home… Maybe. As soon as I got home, I went straight to the throne room to have a peek at what was going on. I imagined that the
Jon's POV“Well, that didn't go too well,” Sam chuckled as he made his way back to the table and tried to sit. “No need. We're heading back home immediately,” I revealed, standing to my feet and adjusting my clothes. “Surely, you didn't expect her to just open up her arms and embrace me, Sam. These things take time. We'll take it step by step.”“If you say so. Who am I to say otherwise?” He asked as we made our way to the car. “But if you ask me, I'll tell you to let it be. I know you won't. I'm just saying anyway.”The journey back home was a silent one. As San drove, I shut my eyes and let my mind drift into thoughts as I wondered what I had to do to win her heart back. I missed Caro. I missed her so much and I needed her back with me. I also couldn't stand her being with that monster of a man called Boris. I feared he'd turn on her soon and make her regret ever getting to know him. Maybe I wouldn't be around to save her if that happened. I had to find a way to take her away from
Caroline’s POV“I’ll be ready in five,” I called out to Boris as I quickly sat down to put on my shoes. It was my first day as an employee of the renowned Storm Ventures and I was so excited. Boris, just like he promised, had made it happen and I was so full of gratitude for him. ‘“What a man,” I said in my heart. He was a perfect gentleman. He was everything that I thought he was and despite all the allegations by Jon against him, I couldn't see any truth in them.“I'm ready,” I said to him as I got to the sitting room. “Wow. You look stunning, Caroline,” he smiled, staring at me from head to toe and nodding his head in admiration.“Thank you,” I blushed. I loved it when he gave me those compliments, even when I thought he went a little bit over later with some of them. For example, I just had a casual white shirt tucked into a black skirt and a black, heel shoe to go with it. I didn't think it made me look that gorgeous, but he seemed to think so. That was enough for me.He open
Boris’s POVIt had been a week since I helped Caroline get a new job and she seemed to be just fine. I saw the look on her face every morning as she left for work and I could tell she was loving it there. I was happy for her. It was the plan anyway. Yet, I was unhappy. She made me an unhappy man. No matter how hard I tried, things just wouldn't be different. I had tried. For several years, I had tried to get her to accept me as her lover and not just some random stranger who helped her when she was in need. As I sat back on my sofa, with Bill, my Beta, by my side, I could think of nothing else but Caroline, and the numerous sacrifices that I'd made for her sake to no avail.“You're thinking about her again, aren't you?” Bill asked, scratching his head as I snapped back to reality. “Of course, I am. What else do I have to think about?” I questioned in frustration. “What haven't I done for that woman? Yet, it seems to me like she just doesn't want me. It's like Jon's not here, yet i
