Jon's POV

“Well, that didn't go too well,” Sam chuckled as he made his way back to the table and tried to sit.

“No need. We're heading back home immediately,” I revealed, standing to my feet and adjusting my clothes. “Surely, you didn't expect her to just open up her arms and embrace me, Sam. These things take time. We'll take it step by step.”

“If you say so. Who am I to say otherwise?” He asked as we made our way to the car. “But if you ask me, I'll tell you to let it be. I know you won't. I'm just saying anyway.”

The journey back home was a silent one. As San drove, I shut my eyes and let my mind drift into thoughts as I wondered what I had to do to win her heart back.

I missed Caro. I missed her so much and I needed her back with me. I also couldn't stand her being with that monster of a man called Boris. I feared he'd turn on her soon and make her regret ever getting to know him. Maybe I wouldn't be around to save her if that happened. I had to find a way to take her away from

Caroline’s POV“I’ll be ready in five,” I called out to Boris as I quickly sat down to put on my shoes. It was my first day as an employee of the renowned Storm Ventures and I was so excited. Boris, just like he promised, had made it happen and I was so full of gratitude for him. ‘“What a man,” I said in my heart. He was a perfect gentleman. He was everything that I thought he was and despite all the allegations by Jon against him, I couldn't see any truth in them.“I'm ready,” I said to him as I got to the sitting room. “Wow. You look stunning, Caroline,” he smiled, staring at me from head to toe and nodding his head in admiration.“Thank you,” I blushed. I loved it when he gave me those compliments, even when I thought he went a little bit over later with some of them. For example, I just had a casual white shirt tucked into a black skirt and a black, heel shoe to go with it. I didn't think it made me look that gorgeous, but he seemed to think so. That was enough for me.He open

Boris’s POVIt had been a week since I helped Caroline get a new job and she seemed to be just fine. I saw the look on her face every morning as she left for work and I could tell she was loving it there. I was happy for her. It was the plan anyway. Yet, I was unhappy. She made me an unhappy man. No matter how hard I tried, things just wouldn't be different. I had tried. For several years, I had tried to get her to accept me as her lover and not just some random stranger who helped her when she was in need. As I sat back on my sofa, with Bill, my Beta, by my side, I could think of nothing else but Caroline, and the numerous sacrifices that I'd made for her sake to no avail.“You're thinking about her again, aren't you?” Bill asked, scratching his head as I snapped back to reality. “Of course, I am. What else do I have to think about?” I questioned in frustration. “What haven't I done for that woman? Yet, it seems to me like she just doesn't want me. It's like Jon's not here, yet i

Caroline's POV“Congratulations, ma'am, you're two weeks pregnant!” A nurse announced to me with a huge grin on her face and my Joy knew no bounds.“Thank the goddess!” I yelled, unable to contain the excitement that I felt. I didn't even want to. The news was too good to hold in.I'd been married to Alpha Jon, the Alpha of the Lotus Pack, for three years. Our marriage was the perfect marriage anyone could dream of, it was exactly what I hoped for except for one thing… I was unable to give him a child. For three years, I cried out to the Moon Goddess to help me give my husband an heir. All to no avail. No matter how hard we both tried, the result was the same. I was called all sorts of stuff– barren, unfruitful, unfit, bad luck, just to mention a few. At one point, the elders asked him to choose another woman. Not my Jon. He could never do that to me.He told them off each time and insisted that he'd never leave me. He loved me that much. I felt it all the time when he talked to me

Caroline's POVThe cab left and I was on my way to a friend's place. Maria… she lived about an hour away from my place. I planned to eventually leave the Pack, but step by step was always the way. A few minutes into the ride, I realised that the driver wasn't moving in the direction that I asked him to. It was at that point that it struck me that there was someone else in the car; a ride I booked, just for myself.“I'm sorry, Mister, this isn't the way to my destination,” I pointed out to the driver but he said nothing. He only took a cursory glance at me and continued moving.“Don't worry about that, young lady, he just had to take this route,” the gentleman beside me smiled as he turned to look at me. “By the way, how much do you have in that little bag of yours?”“Wait… What? What business of yours is that?” I asked in shock, clutching my bag quickly. That was when it struck me. The man was no cab driver. The mark on the hand of the guy beside me told me all that I needed to know

You haven't made me feel like a woman for so long. You can't even stand being in the same place with me.”I stared at the face of the woman that I thought I loved but I felt nothing but resentment for her. Her beautiful long hair and very curvy figure didn't appeal to me anymore. All I wanted was to be away from her, but she always found a way to make it difficult.I ignored her bickerings and rantings, making sure to maintain eye contact. It was the only way to let her know that I heard all of her bullshit, but I didn't give a damn about them. When she got tired, she hissed and turned around to leave. “You are stuck with me, Jon. Don't forget that!” She yelled on her way out. Still, I said nothing. I just leaned back on my chair and let my mind drift to what was troubling me.After Caro left, Susan and I got closer an

  • Second Chance: The Rejected Luna    Chapter Nine: Could It Be?

Caroline's POVI walked back to the restaurant, thinking deeply about what Jon had said to me. “Boris is not who you think he is.”That statement kept ringing over and over in my head. If he wasn't the kind,. softhearted man, who has always been there for me, who was he then? All through the day, I couldn't get the thought out of my head. I caught myself distracted over and over at work. Even my coworkers noticed that something was wrong and even asked if I'd prefer to leave, just so I wouldn't mess things up. Two more hours, and I knew it was time to head back home. Thankfully, my decisions didn't have much of a consequence on my job, especially since Boris was involved. One more reason why I wondered what made Jon talk about him in that way. “Maybe, he's just trying to turn me against Boris so that I'd return to him,” I thought in my heart as I left for home… Maybe. As soon as I got home, I went straight to the throne room to have a peek at what was going on. I imagined that the

Alpha Jon's POVHiding behind a black SUV with Sam by my side, I looked on to see if Caro would show up. I sent her a message alongside a beautiful bunch of flowers and although she was fond of tossing them away, I hoped that somehow, she'd show up this time.“Maybe this was a mistake,” Sam remarked as we saw no sign of Caro anywhere. “It seems like she won't be showing up today. We have to find another way to get her, Jon. We should leave before someone spots us.”“Just hold on a bit longer. Maybe, she can still show up,” I replied, hopeful that she'd be there. For minutes, we waited, watching people troop in and out of the restaurant, still, there was no sign of her. The more we waited, the more I lost hope that she'd be there. Yet, I found myself unable to leave.Twenty more minutes and I knew it was time to leave. There was only so much that I could do. Sam was already looking too keen on leaving and to be honest, we had stayed well over what we planned.“Let's go,” I finally co

I had been indoors for several days, just so I wouldn't get to meet with Jon.I stayed away from the office for a week and I heard that for five days, he didn't stop going there to find me. Thankfully, I was nowhere to be found. Yet, a part of me wondered what he wanted to say to me.After that, he stopped. Well, not completely. He only stopped looking for me by himself. Instead, he sent some people to do that job for him.I got flowers daily from the men he sent for four days straight with small notes alongside them. Each time, I tossed the flowers to the ground immediately reading his notes which were full of apologies and love stuff. He wanted to fool me again but I wasn't going to let him. I was much wiser than he knew me to be. I wasn't that girl that he toyed with the way he wanted. Right? I mean, a part of me wanted to be fooled once again, to believe that this time, he loved me for real an
