Lucas's Point of View

I shot open my eyes as I woke up. I went downstairs to make breakfast as usual, Darren came in a few moments later. "Hey man, how are you doing?" Darren greeted, and we shook hands. I shrugged my shoulders, “Good, I guess" .

Minutes later, after breakfast was served, Claire came downstairs, dressed in long pants and a white button-up shirt, looking chic and corporate. "I'll be back," she said, not giving me a glance.

"It's dangerous out there, Claire," I said, standing up, but she didn't even look back nor acknowledge me. With that, she left. "At least have breakfast!" I yelled out.

"There's no point calling her now. She has gotten in the car already and driven off.” Darren said, tapping on his phone.

"Shouldn't I have told her? I mean, it's a good thing that she knows now and I told her. Rather than her finding out from an enemy or something." I sighed.
