TINA'S NEW OFFICE

The alarm clock woke Tina up and she was feeling too lazy to get up. Lily was already awake and had to remove the duvet that was covering Tina for her to wake up. She woke up cursing Lily but since she was reporting to work she had no choice. She showered and wore a beautiful official skirt suit which initially was oversize but to her amazement, it fit her perfectly. She had put on a few pounds in her waist and was fearing breaking the news to Ken. What if he would not like the news, what if she was not a good mother, Tina’s mind was filled with a lot of doubts so she was not feeling ready to visit a doctor after all it might be a false alarm. She made a point of consulting her workmate who had two daughters to recommend her to a good gynecologist she didn’t have one in mind.

She went downstairs but the smell of fried eggs and sausages was nauseating so she decided to just take fresh juice since Kantai had arrived early to take her to work she did not want to keep her waiting. Tina and Lily sat on the back seat and enjoyed the ride, it was very convenient and she was grateful to Ken for being a loving and considerate guy because late people’s perfume was irritating her, Ken offering a private ride for her would make her avoid different perfume fragrances for the people riding on the same public transport. She thought about the last time they went for a boat ride they escapades and smiled that's when Lily noticed and said, “Hi madam, a penny for your thoughts you look so amused, can we share a peace of your happiness.” Ooh sorry, Tina replied my mind wandered off. You can share with me that’s what friends are for” Lily insisted, the car stopped at Lily’s office and it came as a relief to Tina “Go to work”, we will continue in the evening Lily said, Tina shook her head in agreement and wished Lily and good day ahead and Lily alighted from the car and Kantai drove her to the office. The journey took longer than usual due to the traffic snail up but they arrived on time. Tina thanked him and he informed her he will be waiting in the parking lot after her working hours. “Thank you Mr. Kantai for dropping me and good day”. “Good day too Ms. Tina. She proceeded to her office where she was amazed to see some changes in the furniture but fortunately, there was a new lady in the office Tina greeted her and introduced herself “I am Tina, good morning”, Good morning my name is Rose I am your office assistance Madam Tina”. Tina said no madam just call me Tina nice to meet you Rose and they shook hands. Then Rose asked “can I get you coffee”? madam Tina, this girl cannot learn to listen Tina thought to herself, please get me some hot water that will do. Rose brought the hot even before Tina settled in her office, “thank you, Rose, that’ll be all for now, will call you when I need something”, Tina said. “Ok I am just a buzz away” welcome madam, Tina replied thinks she’ll never learn not to call her madam. Tina settled down she had a lot of work in her tray and started sorting one by one until she didn’t notice it was lunch hour when Rose knocked on her door and told her it was lunch hour Tina had not noted how time moves fast when one is busy he still had a lot of emails to write and there was an outstanding project they had to make a report. She asked Rose if she could bring her a piece of cake and some yogurt she didn’t like the smell of roasted food. Rose went to the cafeteria and brought her the snacks and Tina relaxed and went to eat in the kitchen. She then felt sleepy and since the CEO had not reported in his office went for a siesta and asked Rose to wake her up in the afternoon so she to attend the meeting with the board of directors. She missed Ken but he was out of reach and she didn’t have a choice but to wait for him to come from the trip so that they talk she did not want to alarm her about her pregnancy until she confirms with the doctor and since it was still early she will inform him at the right time.

Ken had gone to sign the deal in Japan and decided to pass by and see Tina also as a CEO he was supposed to confirm the status of the merger deal he had signed earlier on and have a discussion in his office with the directors of the other company. He also wanted to surprise Tina and even told Kantai the driver who picked him up at the airport not to tell Tina about his coming. So Tina was unaware of his coming until he walked inside the office and found her fast asleep on his office couch. He smiled and thought that his fiancé is a heavy sleeper and sat on his chair and started organizing himself. Even Rose didn’t know he was around and when the time came she went to wake up Tina but was surprised to see the senior boss who was in the office and had covered Tina with his jacket and he indicated with his finger for Rose not to wake Tina. Tina was amazed at what could be the relationship between the two but decided to keep to herself. Luckily enough Tina’s full bladder woke her up and she was amazed to see Ken’s jacket covering her and his cologne because she adored the smell was all over her. She woke up rubbed her eyes and could not believe the person she saw seated in the chair was Ken busy with the laptop. Ken! Tina exclaimed you are here she ran and hugged him and sat on his wrap “ I missed you and her eyes started watering” shh Ken said I am here darling I have not gone anywhere else why are you crying “Tina just tear until Ken had to get her tissues to wipe her eyes please do not cry we are together aren’t we yes she said, sobbing softly. Then Ken said just be a good girl and go and wash your eyes we have a meeting to attend he said gently kissing her head. That softened and Tina said sorry and went to the washroom to freshen up. When she came back she was looking fresh and then took a glass of water. Ken told Tina we will talk later my dear but we don’t have to keep the clients waiting. Please find me in the conference room. Tina nodded in agreement and went to her office to pick up all her documentation and notebook she later wore her coat and joined others for the board meeting in the board room. The presentation went well and after the meeting, everybody left except the CEO in this case Mr. King with two of the partners who wanted to have a private meeting.

Ken then called Tina on her cell phone and informed her they will be going to supervise a project which is currently underway and he will call her in the evening and inform her where they will meet.

After working hours Tina was dropped home where she wore an evening dress and was pleased since it was comfortable unlike the office dresses that are make her uncomfortable since they are fitting and her extra inches that have added on the waistline was making her difficult to fit in her normal clothes. She noted she needed a new wardrobe. She had so much to think about and didn’t want to tell Ken he’d think she’s a gold digger she would sort the issues on her own. She dressed up and waited at the coach for Ken to call but heard a knock at the door. Come in Tina said and Kantai said he was sent to pick her up by Mr. King.
