TRIP BACK HOME

Ken organized for his family’s private jet to come and pick him up and his wife since Tina was in a delicate condition and flying for many hours seated in her condition would be strenuous. He also took the precaution of hiring medical personnel to accompany them although she traveled as a civilian since Ken knew Tina would have protested if she knew that she was traveling with a nurse to take care of her. She always complained to Ken she was pregnant, not sick when he forbid her even to do light duties like cooking. He employed several staff to take care of her but Tina protested saying that only the cleaner was relevant and the others weren’t necessary they fought over the matter but Ken did not want to annoy her so he told his mum Stacy who talked to Tina and convinced her to let Ken care of her. She politely told her its because she was carrying the first grandkids of the Kings dynasty and it was because the doctors warned him of Tina’s fragile condition.

Before they took the trip to the capital Ken took back Tina to the clinic and assured them all was well but advised Ken after landing and Tina relaxing for a day she should see a doctor confirm all is well but if Tina felt any abdominal pain on the plane they should visit the nearest hospital. When they finished the examination and Tina were dressing, the doctor called Ken outside and advised them to travel with medical personnel who can assist with first aid. Ken accepted on the condition that Tina would not be informed so the nurse recommended by the doctor disguised as a passenger when she boarded the plane. So when they boarded the private jet Tina sat next to Ken and after takeoff, she started dozing on his chest but he carried her to the room with a bed and put her on the bed to relax. Tina slept like a baby on the flight after taking some tablet’s the doctor had recommended. Ken took advantage of the time and took his laptop to sort out important issues and send emails to the office. He also called his mum advising they were on the way and she organized people to come and pick them in the airport. Tina was woken up by Ken because their plane was landing, she yarned due to hunger but Ken apologized for not waking her up earlier it was because she seemed to be sleeping so peacefully.  When they landed and were cleared at the airport a fleet of three vehicles and security were waiting for them. They just boarded the car and when Tina protested about their language Ken said that the security team were taking care of that but she was a priority and needed to go home eat and rest she must be having jet lag. The driver drove them to the house and since Tina was tired and sleepy she was taken directly to the bedroom where she had a quick shower lunch was brought into the bedroom and took just a small amount then fell asleep. Ken needed her to rest and when he went downstairs where everyone was waiing for them Ken apologized to the people on her behalf why she couldn’t join them at the meal and they understood very well the reason why. He met his parents, his brother, and friends, and auntie cherry with her husband uncle Charles also their guests. Ken wondered why everyone was in the house but decided to enquire later. There were warm hugs from his family members and friends and congratulations for his civil wedding and for being a dad in the waiting. His auntie Cherry who is very talkative and huge hugged him tightly until Ken complained and he was released. Aunty Cherry said who told you to have a wedding without my presence auntie he tried protesting but she stopped him pointing a finger at her lips. Shhhh.. she said, we understand it was necessary to legalize the marriage your babies not to be born out of wedlock but my son look at me I need to be part of the Kid's life I understand they are twins we are pampering them to the end. God never blessed me with babies, but I will assist in raising your kids. Thank you, son, for the wisdom of accepting to enlarge our family you have done us proud where is your wife? Ken replied, she is sleeping she was tired okay we will meet her in the evening in the meantime we have a wedding to plan. Wedding! Who’s wedding for? Ken inquired. Your wedding son Aunt cherry said you are from the King’s family and we have to host a big wedding. But, Ken started protesting we know your wife’s wedding is fragile we have two months to organize we will not tire her that day but people are very anxious about this wedding and also to meet the beautiful bride who stole my handsome nephews heart. Since the bride will not be assisting with the preparation that’s why I came to help my sister in the wedding preparation and we are starting tomorrow. Ken said okay please don’t involve Tina in strenuous responsibilities she has a delicate pregnancy.

We will be seeing the gynecologist tomorrow. “Can I join you?” Both Stacy and Cherry aid in unison. Of course since you will be taking care of Tina in my absence her hormones sometimes are too much. Stacy laughed and said don’t you worry son I got you in this just mind about the business we will take care of your wife, remember she’s like a daughter to me.”. “Thank you mama it’s a relief to hear that” Ken said. I have to go and sleep for some hours I am feeling tired. Just go son we know it was a long flight you must be experiencing jet lag. We will talk more at dinner. Ken hugged everyone and when Lewis woke up he hugged Ken hard and parted his back saying I am proud of you brother. “Thank you, I have you to be forever grateful”, Ken almost shed tears. Lewis replied, “Don’t worry that’s what brothers are for”, they hugged again and Ken asked if her mum had sum orange juice to tell the house help deliver to his room on the small fridge for Tina when she wakes up. He also requested her mum to send for chocolates and for chocolate and caramel ice creams and store in the freezer since that’s what Tina craves for now and then and if she lacks she will shed tears so they should not be surprised but was told its normal at the first months of pregnancy.

The maid delivered the juice and Ken took it from her at their bedroom door and kept it at the table including the chocolate cake her mum had packed in a container so that when Tina woke up she will eat. He slept due to exhaustion and awoke when the skies were dark. When he looked to the side Tina was not asleep so he got shocked a bit he looked into the bathroom she was not there and Ken panicked wondering where she could be he decided to dress and go look for her downstairs that’s when he saw a shadow at the balcony and went there she was sitting in the couch comfortably relaxing like a baby with no worry in the world. Ken was relieved to see her and hugged her like a baby and kissed her on the forehead, how’s my baby doing? When I missed you love when I woke up and you were not by my side gave me a scare. I love you baby imagining not having you by my side scares me.  Promise never to leave me because darling you are very important in my life and also for our babies in your womb. Tina hugged Ken and said I love and we are going nowhere daddy isn’t it babies. Ken knelt and kissed her tummy I can’t wait to take you out or in a football match.

The phone then rang and it was Stacy calling Ken said let’s get you freshened up we join others for dinner downstairs. They went and Tina wore a flowery dress and a sweater on top with sandals while Ken dressed in a t-shirt and a short they looked casual but the dinner was not formal and just wanted to have a meal and rest. They went downstairs together Ken holding onto Tina’s arm like a bride's groom and his bride but what Tina was not anticipating was to find the whole family joining them for dinner. Ken was directed to the dining room and he saw everyone turn to look at them but Stacy could not hold her excitement and came and hugged Tina tightly. Oh, my daughter welcomes back she said I made supper I hope you’ll like the meal. Ken told me what you prefer I hope it suits you. Your face is glowing and you look more beautiful, pregnancy agrees with you. Tina became embarrassed, but Ken's father came to her rescue, “Stacy let the girl breath you’ll suffocate her” ooh sorry. Tina hugged everyone and was happy that everybody treated her like family even the Aunty of Ken Cherry who was talkative and always came to assist her. Ever since her parents died except for Lily and her parents she had no close family to relate to and she was happy to belong somewhere and be accepted by the King's family. She loved Stacy more who treated her like a daughter of the family she felt like she was given a second chance to have a mother.

They had dinner and went to the lounge for some drinks. That’s where Cherry told them about the wedding they were organizing in two months. It was the tradition of the Kings family to host big parties during the wedding and this time they were happy to do so. Aunty Cherry told Tina not to worry they will handle the logistics with Stacy. What’s your favorite color, Tina said purple then purple it is. What? Tina was asking about the color thyme for the wedding. Tina was happy to see their excitement when they were talking about the wedding but felt tired and excused herself to go and sleep where she was escorted by Ken after wishing everybody goodnight although most of them were drunk she could not drink alcohol in her condition.
