MELONIE'S POV:
I stormed out persistently, with an unstoppable force. Nobody dared to walk closer, talk me out of it, or stop me. They all stood far away from me, shivering in fear like a cold chicken.
Everything I needed and wanted to know; I was ready to find out… alone! I was determined, that if my father wanted me dead, then let him kill me now.
Realizing I have such extreme powers, made me even more eager to get into trouble.
Suddenly, a hand gripped my arm, firm. I looked back doubtfully and got the shock of my life. My best friend stood there, gawking at me fearlessly.
“Arlo?” I called out, surprised.
“Melonie,” he responded calmly.
I jingle my head doubtfully, “Wh - what are you doing here?” I stammered.
“I'm here to stop you from making the biggest mistake of your life Melonie,” he blurted out firmly.
I blinked repeatedly, still not getting it, “That's not what I mean. You are human, you cannot be in this world to begin with,” I retorted positively.
“But I am here. I'm not human Melonie,” he announced with a straight face.
“Fuck no! This is such an expensive joke; I have known you since we were little. Arlo, we grew up together,” I retorted sadly.
“I was sent to the human world on one assignment, to monitor your every move until you turn eighteen and protect you if needed. And that, I did,” he responded calmly.
“So you knew? I was deceived for eighteen years of my pathetic life. You, mother, and everyone I knew watched me struggle growing up and pretended to know nothing?” I yelled furiously.
“I'm sorry Melonie,” he stated calmly, ogling at my tear-filled eyes.
“What are you?” I asked, returning his piercing gaze.
“I'm an Apex predator, a being from another realm. I take on Wolf-like form with abilities surpassing those of werewolves,” he declared.
I forced out a sarcastic laugh, “So, you are like my father huh, Warrick Aeron. And those things that murdered my mother? Beings like you are monsters. So what are you doing among the lycanthropy dragons? You are forbidden from being here,” I reasoned out, avoiding his gaze.
“I have heard of your father, Melonie, but I am nothing like him and the creatures he rules. I was saved by Mrs. Hunter, the leader of this realm when I was little; ever since then, I have become a part of this realm. When she sent me to you in the human world, I was very happy to carry out the assignment and I enjoyed every time spent with you,” he explained.
“Move!” I growled, attempting to walk away.
“I can't and I won't,” he retorted positively.
“Move Arlo, before I burn you,” I threatened but he didn't even glitch.
“Everyone might be scared of you, but you shouldn't expect me to, we grew up together and I can't let you kill yourself,” he retorted, smirking my forehead.
I wince in pain, frowning, “I need to find my father,” I declared relentlessly.
“He wants you dead!” Arlo blurted out.
“That's what everyone says, I want to find out for myself,” I argued positively.
“No, you won't!” He protested arrogantly.
“Arlo, get out! Or else…” I yelled with a serious face.
He walked closer to me; I could feel his warm breath on my skin… “Or else what?” He growled. “You can't hurt me, Melonie, I'm the closest person to a brother that you have. You love me so much that you can't let a strand of my hair get burnt. And that's why I'm the only one that can stop you.”
Immediately after he said those words, I was lifted off the ground effortlessly like a child and carried toward a building.
To be locked in… Again.
I looked around the building as Arlo set me down, suddenly he had grown so powerful that I felt like I never knew him to begin with.
The building was large and spacious, it would be called a mansion in the human world, the only difference was that it looked so old and worn out but still standing strong.
“Don't look at me like that Melonie, this is not a cage,” Arlo's voice echoed out and I promptly stopped gawking at him bashfully.
“There's just one thing you need to know, I won't forgive you, Arlo, ever!” I retorted firmly and he simply giggled it off.
“Sadly, there's one person who can stop you from acting stupid, your childhood friend, Arlo,” Mrs. Hunter stated, walking in, “Thank you, Arlo,” she muttered and he nodded in acknowledgement.
I gawked at her in dissatisfaction, “Enjoy it while you can, it won't last for long,” I retorted rudely.
“Clara was right, I treated you awfully … you don't belong in a cage. Perhaps, I was also scared of you - but not anymore, you don't appear to be able to hurt anyone just yet. This building is spacious, and it's all for you, but you won't be leaving this building. Just so you won't be bored, I brought in your new friend Clara to stay with you,” she announced and Clara happily ran in, grasping onto my arm and I smiled back.
“This is my son, Arwan. He's in charge of training you. He's a well-known warrior, the best in this realm. He will be your instructor, you simply have to listen to him to be able to grow your strength and gifts,” Mrs. Hunter announced and Arwan walked in.
“I know him. He is the bastard that dragged me here,” I blurted out, pissed.
“Language!” Mrs. Hunter warned while Arwan just gawked at me emotionlessly.
“That being said, there would only be four people living with you in this mansion. Arlo, your best friend, will be here to monitor you so you won't do something stupid. Clara, she would be here with you to keep you company since she seem to like you very much. Arwan, your inspector and teacher and a servant, to serve you. I'll be here to check up on you from time to time - enjoy your new home.” she added, walking out.
“And about this gate…” she said and paused, “It would be able to stop you from leaving this time around,” she declared, shutting the gate behind her.
I bit my lower lips anxiously, gawking at the disappearing figure of Mrs. Hunter, not knowing where my tragic life would begin, after changing overnight.
MELONIE'S POV:I grabbed Clara by the hand, “let's go in,” I stated and she smiled at me warmly.Arlo also came forward, “Where are you going?” He asked curiously.“Where else, dummy? Should I remain out here? I was told this whole building was mine. And please, stop monitoring me already, it's not like I can leave this place,” I retorted, rolling my eyes.“Hey!” Arwan called and I froze, “We begin training tomorrow morning, get ready,” he announced firmly.“Don't tell me what to do, you heartless kidnapper,” I growled and walked away, dragging Clara along. We got in and I picked my room, Clara also picked hers and so did Arlo and Arwan.Arwan's room was opposite mine, Clara's was beside and Arlo's was opposite Clara's.“Oh my God! I've never had a room since I was born here,” Clara Swooned delightfully.I looked at my well-prepared room; I was satisfied with it, but I still wasn't satisfied with the new, strange world. We went down for dinner and after dinner, I stormed straight to my
MELONIE'S POV:I gawked at him, and he gawked back, “Do you understand Melonie?” He repeated with a serious face, and I calmly nodded in response. He has high cheekbones, a strong jawline and a small button nose. His piercing eyes spackle with warmth and kindness, fringed with thick lashes that add to his allure. His hair, is thick, dark and messy, with a subtle wave that adds texture and depth. He has broad shoulders, a toned physique and a tall athletic build that commands attention. He excludes confidence and self-assurance without being arrogant or entitled. He is charismatic and charming, with a magnetic presence that draws people in. Accomplice with an angelic and baby-looking face and soft, white skin that would make you want to tame him.I stared at his bottom lip that was calling for my attention and I quickly looked away, my cheeks turning red, “You are too close,” I muttered. He pushed me away, clearing his throat to ease the awkward atmosphere. “All I'm saying is, from now
MELONIE'S POV:Arwan's statement replayed in my head, my giant fear stood tall, my heart beating in horror. If Mrs. Hunter dies, I'm in trouble, if I fight back, I'm still in trouble.“Fuck this!” I murmured, biting my lips, “What do I do?”I paced around the room, my mind was a jumble of thoughts, each one tangled and twisted, making it impossible to think clearly.I walked over to Clara's room, knocking on the door, “Clara it's me,” I called out.Everywhere went silent, I got no reply, “Clara,” I called again with a pleading voice.“Go away Melonie,” her voice rang out.“Please Clara, I need you right now, we need to talk,” I begged desperately.Everywhere grew silent again and then I heard a click.“Clara I'm sorry, I know you are mad at me,” I stated as Clara unlocked the door. She stared at me calmly, “I'm not mad at you Melonie… I'm just - Anxious and…”“I know. And I'm anxious too, I'm at the centre of all this trouble. How do you think I feel,” I explained.“That's why you ha
MELONIE'S POV:Ogling at me, he paused his lips, “Okay, we start immediately, there's no time,” Arwan voiced out.My face went pale, “Okay… no words of encouragement or you saying something like - good girl, you made a good choice?”He glanced at me, irritated. “What do I look like? Your daddy?”“Fuck you Arwan,” I retorted displeased.Ignoring me, he pointed towards a direction facing him, “Come here!”Without arguing, I walked closer, kicking my legs and throwing my arms to gather my strength.“Clean up this room,” he declared.I stared at him, rolling my eyes, “Sorry?”“Your first lesson would be manners, you lack that,” he responded calmly.“Are you fine? Are you sure you are not hungry or tasty? Or maybe you are pressed. Go on, take a poop. I'll be waiting if it'll make you feel better,” I snarled. He walked closer to me, his shadow covering my entire existence, “Talk to me disrespectfully again and watch me slap you into next week. Clean up this room and meet me in the garden on
MELONIE'S POV:My world crumbled, I wasn't scared, I was horrified.I wasn't ready, but I was forced to be.It's just one way to die, die or die either way.Thick sweat escaped my forehead and my heart was heavy with worry.“Everyone inside! lock the doors, lock the windows,” Arwan's voice echoed.I gawked at him as he calmly took responsibility, “I'm coming with you,” I declared. He stared back at me, “What can you possibly do to help? Stay here, go into your room and lock the door and windows. It's safer that way.”“You broke the lock,” I stated in remembrance. He paused for a while as if trying to verify what I said, “Then go into mine.”Arwan left the building I was, into the main building to save others, I couldn't explain it, but strangely, there was this force pulling me to him.“Arwan,” I murmured in fear.I trailed behind him, and for a reason, I could barely leave him to get hurt, even if there was barely anything I could do.“Everyone, vacate this building and move into Mel
MELONIE'S POV:We all froze, and everyone seemed lost in their own agony. “Should we all be saying our last prayers?” Clara asked out of nowhere, with a bitter face.Arlo also looked devastated, “Melonie do something.”“What exactly can I do? Jump in front of those things and get snapped in two? Gosh, you all never loved me,” I retorted firmly. My gaze fell on Arwan. Although everyone was scared, he seemed to be deep in thought, trying to come up with a solution. “I'll lead them away from the building,” Arwan blurted out.“That's ridiculous,” I spat back, “No Arwan. That's a terrible idea! You can't do that.”“I have less of a choice right now,” he defended, “That door will not hold, a lot of people will die. Our realm will be wiped and emptied, never to be remembered.”“THOSE DEADLY THINGS WILL KILL YOU!” I yelled out in panic, “They are not one or two; there are a lot out there, waiting to tear us apart like over boiled chickens.”Arwan took steps closer to me, “I know Melonie, but
ARWAN'S POV:I stared at the unconscious figure of Melonie. She was scared to fight until I was thrown to the ground by dark walkers, she looks just like her birth mother, I can only hope she doesn't act like her and end up dying.I picked her up and carried her to her room, with Clara and Arlo following behind.“Is she fine?” Clara asked worriedly.“She must have exhausted her strength,” she passed out, after transformation." I explained.Arlo nodded in understanding, “It would have been weird if that didn't happen. She literally saved us all.”A warm smile spread across my face, “She saved me.”It took hours, before Melonie calmly opened her eyes, “Where am I?” She asked, looking around.A teasing smirk appeared on my face, “In heaven, you died a while ago.”She scoffed out loud, struggling to get up, “Jokes on you.”**🥀**MELONIE'S POV:I could barely feel myself, my body ached from the fight and overuse of power.“Can you stand?” Arwan asked calmly.I nodded in approval, “Yes. Ho
MELONIE'S POV:Everyone was focused on training, but I was focused on Arwan, since seriousness has decided to forsake me, I should use it on something I enjoy doing.Arwan stretched his hand towards me, “Come here, Melonie.”I ran forward immediately, awaiting the training and results of the day.Clara also ran towards us, “Hey guys, I'll be training with you,” she stated and I smiled warmly at her, noticing the distance between us.“Clara… is something wrong?” I asked reluctantly. Her warm smile disappeared, “C'mon — nothing is wrong. It's just…”I turned towards her with a serious face, “It's just…” I encouraged her to keep talking.“Melonie, I saw you transform yesterday,” she explained. “I have never seen such a powerful creature in my life. You — you were fully transformed into something that never existed.”“Right, so you are even more scared of me now?” I asked bitterly, “C'mon I'd literally protect you rather than hurt you.”“I know Melonie… I just got goosebumps,” Clara state
🥀 OTHELLO'S POV 🥀We walked into our room with a very awkward atmosphere. Bruno had glanced at me coldly earlier when Clara announced that I was gay; is he that irritated? To think that the person I like is irritated that I'm gay, confessing is definitely a no. It would only make things even more awkward, and I'd only get hurt from disappointment and high expectations.Silence descended. We both lay at each edge of the bed, breathing slowly, and I desperately avoided his gaze.I felt ashamed and stupid, “Clara… that witch.Uncomfortable, I stood up abruptly, “I'll use the floor,” I announced, picking myself from the bed.Bruno dragged me back, and I landed on his bare chest, one hand firmly pulled me to himself and the other hand patted my hair to sleep.“I'm struggling to breathe in this position,” I became tongue-tied.He didn't let me go, instead, he pulled me even closer, “Why?” He muttered, “Because you like me so much and your heart is threatening to burst?”Mesmerised, I forc
🥀 ARWAN'S POV 🥀I stood in stunned silence, my mind reeling from what I had just seen. The empty, destroyed surroundings seemed to fade away, leaving only the stark, harsh reality of the calamity that had befallen us.They are all dead, hundreds and thousands of people are dead and burnt, some had no heart, Melonie had dug them out, some faces had been burnt, and I could barely recognise them.Adults and children were murdered in cold blood. My breath was knocked out of me. My thoughts were a jumbled mess, unable to process the enormity of the scene that had just played out.“That was my Melonie – right?" I whispered; my voice barely audible. The words echoed in my mind, refusing to sink in. It was as if I was trapped in a nightmare, unable to wake up from the horror that was unfolding before me.I hit my chest in accumulated pain, as though my heart was threatening to discharge violently.Othello walked closer, pulling my arm to attract my attention, “Arwan you are trembling.”I tr
🥀 ARWAN'S POV 🥀I woke up to an empty silence. The buildings outside mine were bustling with life, but a hollow echo was in my heart. It was as if a part of me was missing, a piece I couldn't quite grasp.I went about my day, trying to shake off the feeling. I dressed, ate breakfast, and headed out to meet friends. But no matter what I did, the sensation lingered. It was like a gentle hum in the background, a reminder that something was off.I tried to fill the void with distractions. I strolled through the realm, talked to people, and read books. But nothing seemed to fill the gap. It was as if I was searching for a puzzle piece that didn't exist. As the day wore on, the feeling grew stronger. It was like a whisper in my ear, reminding me of what was missing. I couldn't shake the sense that I was incomplete, that a part of me was wandering around, lost and alone.I looked around me, wondering if anyone else felt the same way. Did they too feel like they were missing a piece of them
🥀 MELONIE'S POV 🥀In one instance, I was surrounded by Apex predators, I attempted to attack, to burn them all, including the bastard that called himself my father. Why is it that the fathers always have problems? My proclaimed father stood there, gawking at me with a satisfied face, “You can't fight back now, by the time you will be able to activate on your own… you won't even remember the man you claim to love.”“What are you waiting for? Kill me now. I heard you want me dead,” I roared fearlessly. He shook his head and smiled, “No Melonie, you and the people around you misunderstood. They misled you and made you believe that I wanted you dead. And I shall punish them for misleading my daughter. I only wanted the best for you.”“Don't you dare lay a finger on them,” I growled back.“I won't – you will. You will destroy the place you call home with your own hands.” He declared with a satisfied laugh. My eyes were filled with disgust, “There’s nothing you would do that would make m
🥀 MELONIE'S POV 🥀Everyone gawked at me with a serious face, “Did you have a dream?” Bruno asked.“No,” I lied, “Not really… I just got paranoid.”“It's important you tell us if you do Melonie,” Othello advised, “So we can think ahead.”“I really didn't,” I whispered, “What was that noise about?” I asked, gawking at Arwan.“I looked it up,” Arwan announced, “It was an angel crying for help. This is very rare; I'm privileged to experience it once all my life.”“Who the heck would have done this?” Bruno murmured. "For an angel to cry for help, it's something very serious."“An angel was locked and is desperately crying for help,” Arwan stated, “Angels seem to be connected to you Melonie.”“Why?” I asked curiously.“Because you are pure,” Arlo responded calmly.“If an Angel is crying to me for help, Doesn’t that mean I'm supposed to help?” I reasoned out.“Perhaps,” Othello said shortly.“Then why did it affect you?” I asked, ogling at Arwan. “I saw you fall to the ground and covered y
🥀 ARWAN'S POV 🥀Sometimes all you need is a little love, I stared at Melonie as she happily bounced into the garden with every confidence she's got.“Arwan likes me! He said he likes me! He likes me! He's mine now! Doesn't this mean we are in a relationship now? Who's Lavanya? He's all mine!” she thought, grinning.I chuckled, it was childish and cute, if only she knew I heard her thoughts. She ran towards me, “Arwan,” she called out, with red cheeks.“Hmm,” I responded, smiling back.“You said you liked me yesterday,” she said, “Is it true?”A chortle escaped my lips, “Yes,” I murmured.“Okay… say it,” she pushed.“I love you, Melonie,” I whispered.“Louder, I can't hear you,” she retorted, holding her ears.“I love you Melonie Aeron,” I yelled out.Arlo gawked at us, rolled his eyes and walked away, Lavanya also followed, pouting.“Then kiss me,” Melonie blurted out.I snapped at her, “huh?”“Hurry,” she yelled with a frown.“Okay… look away!” I pleaded, “It's getting embarrassing
🥀 MELONIE'S POV 🥀As I watched Lavanya laugh and chat with ease with Arwan, a pang of jealousy shot through my chest. It was a feeling I wasn't proud of, but couldn't seem to shake it off.She was everything I wanted to be - confident, charismatic, and carefree. Her smile could light up a room, and her presence seemed to draw people to her like a magnet.I, on the other hand, felt like I was stuck in the shadows. I was always the one observing from the sidelines, never quite sure how to insert myself into the conversation.I walked towards Arwan, staring at Lavanya who stood beside Arwan clutching at his arm in the most threatening way possible.I parted my lips, “Where did you go with her?”My gaze fell on his lips, and memories of what happened in the witch's realm flooded back in.I shook my head, in an attempt to deactivate that feeling.“I simply went to inspect the building with Lavanya,” Arwan responded calmly, walking past me.I pulled him back, “We need to talk, Arwan.”“Ok
🥀 MELONIE'S POV 🥀My transformation was calmly activated, and I felt even better and stronger, probably because of the kiss. Does he know? Is he aware he is my activator?I stared at those who came along with Arwan, they looked stunned, especially Arlo, he looked lifeless and pale.“Let's go,” Arwan stated softly, pulling my hand.“No,” I responded in refusal, “there's something I want to do.”“The witch ran away, and you already killed the werewolf,” Arwan announced. “What else do you want to do?”“You can come out now,” I yelled into the void, and the young girl walked out.Her tiny voice rang out, “What happened to Mama?”I shook my head, “She's not your mama alright, that's a wicked witch trying to make you a weapon. You cannot be like her.”She nodded in understanding, “My name is Gemma. I won't be like her. Can I go with you?”I stared at Arwan, waiting for answers and he nodded. I smiled, “Yes, you can come with me.”She jumped in excitement, “So you will be my mama now?”I l
🥀 ARWAN'S POV 🥀It was hours since I last saw Melonie and I was starting to get worried.“Did she get too jealous and run away?” I muttered, doubtfully.I ran towards her room, but it was empty, my heart began to rise and fall in panic and suddenly, Arlo ran towards me, “Melonie is missing,” he announced, “She disappeared with the witch.”My ears stretched, “What! How can you be so careless?” I yelled angrily, “Get everyone here.”Soon, Arlo came back along with Bruno, Othello, Clara and Lavanya.“What's going on?” Bruno asked curiously.“The dragon wolf is missing,” I blurted out firmly.Everyone stared at me, “How did that happen?” Clara yelled out worriedly.“She disappeared alongside the witch,” Arlo responded.“So what are we doing here?” Clara growled, “My friend is missing and we are still here?”“We need to calm down and understand the situation first,” Lavanya interrupted.Clara snapped back at her, “Understand what? Let's start searching for Melonie immediately.”“I think
