MELONIE'S POV:
I gawked at him, and he gawked back, “Do you understand Melonie?” He repeated with a serious face, and I calmly nodded in response.
He has high cheekbones, a strong jawline and a small button nose. His piercing eyes spackle with warmth and kindness, fringed with thick lashes that add to his allure.
His hair, is thick, dark and messy, with a subtle wave that adds texture and depth.
He has broad shoulders, a toned physique and a tall athletic build that commands attention. He excludes confidence and self-assurance without being arrogant or entitled. He is charismatic and charming, with a magnetic presence that draws people in. Accomplice with an angelic and baby-looking face and soft, white skin that would make you want to tame him.
I stared at his bottom lip that was calling for my attention and I quickly looked away, my cheeks turning red, “You are too close,” I muttered.
He pushed me away, clearing his throat to ease the awkward atmosphere. “All I'm saying is, from now on - you listen to me.” Arwan declared.
A smirk appeared on my face, “How old are you?” Curiosity got the best of me.
“Thousands of years, I've lost count,” he retorted coldly.
I stared at his face which seemed to be getting younger, “So why is he this handsome?” I thought to myself, ogling at him.
“You broke my lock,” I blurted out, changing the topic.
He looked back at the door, “I can do whatever I want, you don't control me, I do! And playtime is over. For the last time, training starts tomorrow,” he announced and walked out.
I looked at his disappearing figure, satisfied with myself, “At least he would be the one training me… life here can't be any better,” I reasoned out, scoffing shamelessly.
I fell on the bed, ready to meet and explore the next hectic day.
**🥀**
As I slowly opened my eyes, the warm rays of sunlight peeked through the blinds, illuminating the room. I stretched my arms, feeling the softness of the bed, and let out a gentle yawn, another weird day. But as I sat up and looked around, I was met with screams and cries coming from outside the building I was in.
“Is this normal?” I thought to myself doubtfully.
I threw off the covers and swung my legs over the side of the bed, my feet dangling in the air. The stillness was palpable, and I felt a shiver run down my spine. I called out, “Arlo? Clara? Arwan?" but my voice was swallowed by the emptiness.
I got out of bed and began to wander through the house, my footsteps echoing off the walls. Each room was spotless, but devoid of any signs of life. No dirty dishes in the sink, there were scattered footsteps on the floor like a set of people running out in terror, and no faint scent of cooking wafting from the kitchen, The house was empty.
I felt like a ghost drifting through the building. The silence was oppressive, weighing heavily on my chest. I longed for the chatter of conversation, the warmth of human presence.
As I walked back to my bedroom, I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror. My eyes looked hollow, my face pale. I felt lost and alone, like a small boat adrift in a vast, empty ocean.
I took a deep breath and tried to shake off the feeling of desolation. I reminded myself that the emptiness was temporary, that soon the house would be filled with the sounds and smells of people, it was nothing serious, the screams and people crying outside were normal and I just needed to get used to it.
“Nothing is going on,” I comforted myself.
Suddenly, I heard a noise, I ran out of my room to find the servant pacing around in fear.
“What is it? Where is everyone?” I voice out, my curious eyes dancing all over her body.
She exhaled sharply, “We are under attack from dark walkers, they are all fighting it. Dark walkers are our greatest fear in this realm, no one has been able to fight them off or kill them. And you, our only hope is not ready yet or willing to train,” she announced and my heart skipped a beat.
“Is this place safe?” I asked, staring at the servant.
“Yes, Mrs Hunter is currently protecting this place with her powers, I don't know how long she can hold on. She seems desperate to protect you,” she responded fearfully, avoiding my gaze.
On the spot, Arlo, Clara and Arwan returned.
“If only you were willing to train, this wouldn't have happened,” Clara stated and walked passed me in disappointment, Arwan also followed without even glancing at me.
I walked closer to Arlo, he was the only one still standing and willing to hear me out, “What happened?” I asked calmly.
“We were under an attack from dark walkers,” he announced firmly and I gave him a “Tell me more” face.
“We were able to fight them off… for now. They will be back anytime soon, and we can't let them see you until you are ready. That would be we announcing you to the entire universe… That's bringing war into your life. Everyone would be alarmed. West, south, north, east - Everyone, including your father. The man who wants you dead!” Arlo announced.
The word echoed in my head, but I quickly jingled it off, I would have to fight for every single breath I breathe alive.
“Why is everyone mad at me?” I asked, looking him in the eye.
He stared back at me for a while, before reluctantly answering, “Mrs. Hunter, the leader of the realm got injured while trying to protect you,” he stated and walked past me.
I brushed my hair back with my fingers.
I found Arwan walking out and I blocked his path, sending him a questioning gaze, “Are you going to ignore me too? I get that she's your mother, you don't want to see her get hurt,” I lamented.
“The problem is not watching her get hurt young lady. If Mrs Hunter dies, we are as good as dead. Only Mrs. Hunter has the power to protect this realm. Her dying means we are exposed, more of those things would swarm in here and we don't have a way to kill them yet. And you on the other hand, the person she was trying to protect has proven to be useless. You will get us all killed,” he declared with a serious face, walking past me.
“But if I show my face, I will bring in more threats even if I defeat the dark walkers. Death is lurking around me; more creatures will come for me. Isn't that even worse? Fighting the dark walkers is alarming others of my existence,” I reasoned out.
He paused, walking back to me, “Every single living thing out there already know of your existence when you turned eighteen, they just don't know where you are.”
“If I fight the dark walkers, I am announcing where I am to them,” I voiced out in fear.
Arwan's face turned sour, “Oops! I guess we are in trouble either way.”
“Where are you going?” I demanded, studying his expression.
A sad smile appeared on his face, “Mrs. Hunter is seriously injured. She was able to hide our realm for now… I'll only ask you for one thing; Pray she doesn't die, because that would be our biggest nightmare.”
MELONIE'S POV:Arwan's statement replayed in my head, my giant fear stood tall, my heart beating in horror. If Mrs. Hunter dies, I'm in trouble, if I fight back, I'm still in trouble.“Fuck this!” I murmured, biting my lips, “What do I do?”I paced around the room, my mind was a jumble of thoughts, each one tangled and twisted, making it impossible to think clearly.I walked over to Clara's room, knocking on the door, “Clara it's me,” I called out.Everywhere went silent, I got no reply, “Clara,” I called again with a pleading voice.“Go away Melonie,” her voice rang out.“Please Clara, I need you right now, we need to talk,” I begged desperately.Everywhere grew silent again and then I heard a click.“Clara I'm sorry, I know you are mad at me,” I stated as Clara unlocked the door. She stared at me calmly, “I'm not mad at you Melonie… I'm just - Anxious and…”“I know. And I'm anxious too, I'm at the centre of all this trouble. How do you think I feel,” I explained.“That's why you ha
MELONIE'S POV:Ogling at me, he paused his lips, “Okay, we start immediately, there's no time,” Arwan voiced out.My face went pale, “Okay… no words of encouragement or you saying something like - good girl, you made a good choice?”He glanced at me, irritated. “What do I look like? Your daddy?”“Fuck you Arwan,” I retorted displeased.Ignoring me, he pointed towards a direction facing him, “Come here!”Without arguing, I walked closer, kicking my legs and throwing my arms to gather my strength.“Clean up this room,” he declared.I stared at him, rolling my eyes, “Sorry?”“Your first lesson would be manners, you lack that,” he responded calmly.“Are you fine? Are you sure you are not hungry or tasty? Or maybe you are pressed. Go on, take a poop. I'll be waiting if it'll make you feel better,” I snarled. He walked closer to me, his shadow covering my entire existence, “Talk to me disrespectfully again and watch me slap you into next week. Clean up this room and meet me in the garden on
MELONIE'S POV:My world crumbled, I wasn't scared, I was horrified.I wasn't ready, but I was forced to be.It's just one way to die, die or die either way.Thick sweat escaped my forehead and my heart was heavy with worry.“Everyone inside! lock the doors, lock the windows,” Arwan's voice echoed.I gawked at him as he calmly took responsibility, “I'm coming with you,” I declared. He stared back at me, “What can you possibly do to help? Stay here, go into your room and lock the door and windows. It's safer that way.”“You broke the lock,” I stated in remembrance. He paused for a while as if trying to verify what I said, “Then go into mine.”Arwan left the building I was, into the main building to save others, I couldn't explain it, but strangely, there was this force pulling me to him.“Arwan,” I murmured in fear.I trailed behind him, and for a reason, I could barely leave him to get hurt, even if there was barely anything I could do.“Everyone, vacate this building and move into Mel
MELONIE'S POV:We all froze, and everyone seemed lost in their own agony. “Should we all be saying our last prayers?” Clara asked out of nowhere, with a bitter face.Arlo also looked devastated, “Melonie do something.”“What exactly can I do? Jump in front of those things and get snapped in two? Gosh, you all never loved me,” I retorted firmly. My gaze fell on Arwan. Although everyone was scared, he seemed to be deep in thought, trying to come up with a solution. “I'll lead them away from the building,” Arwan blurted out.“That's ridiculous,” I spat back, “No Arwan. That's a terrible idea! You can't do that.”“I have less of a choice right now,” he defended, “That door will not hold, a lot of people will die. Our realm will be wiped and emptied, never to be remembered.”“THOSE DEADLY THINGS WILL KILL YOU!” I yelled out in panic, “They are not one or two; there are a lot out there, waiting to tear us apart like over boiled chickens.”Arwan took steps closer to me, “I know Melonie, but
ARWAN'S POV:I stared at the unconscious figure of Melonie. She was scared to fight until I was thrown to the ground by dark walkers, she looks just like her birth mother, I can only hope she doesn't act like her and end up dying.I picked her up and carried her to her room, with Clara and Arlo following behind.“Is she fine?” Clara asked worriedly.“She must have exhausted her strength,” she passed out, after transformation." I explained.Arlo nodded in understanding, “It would have been weird if that didn't happen. She literally saved us all.”A warm smile spread across my face, “She saved me.”It took hours, before Melonie calmly opened her eyes, “Where am I?” She asked, looking around.A teasing smirk appeared on my face, “In heaven, you died a while ago.”She scoffed out loud, struggling to get up, “Jokes on you.”**🥀**MELONIE'S POV:I could barely feel myself, my body ached from the fight and overuse of power.“Can you stand?” Arwan asked calmly.I nodded in approval, “Yes. Ho
MELONIE'S POV:Everyone was focused on training, but I was focused on Arwan, since seriousness has decided to forsake me, I should use it on something I enjoy doing.Arwan stretched his hand towards me, “Come here, Melonie.”I ran forward immediately, awaiting the training and results of the day.Clara also ran towards us, “Hey guys, I'll be training with you,” she stated and I smiled warmly at her, noticing the distance between us.“Clara… is something wrong?” I asked reluctantly. Her warm smile disappeared, “C'mon — nothing is wrong. It's just…”I turned towards her with a serious face, “It's just…” I encouraged her to keep talking.“Melonie, I saw you transform yesterday,” she explained. “I have never seen such a powerful creature in my life. You — you were fully transformed into something that never existed.”“Right, so you are even more scared of me now?” I asked bitterly, “C'mon I'd literally protect you rather than hurt you.”“I know Melonie… I just got goosebumps,” Clara state
MELONIE'S POV:I frantically scanned the shelves, my eyes racing over the spines of the books I had been searching for what felt like an eternity, and I was starting to lose hope.I was searching for answers about my kind. About the creatures of the night, with skin that shifted and eyes that glowed. About the beings with the power to transform, to run with the wolves and soar with the dragons.I was desperate to learn more about my true nature.I pulled down book after book, scanning the pages for any mention of my kind. I read about vampires and werewolves, about shapeshifters and demons. But none of it seemed quite right.I was getting desperate. I felt like I was running out of time like I needed to find the answers I was looking for before it was too late.I moved to the restricted section of the library, the part that was hidden away from prying eyes. I had heard rumours of a book that was hidden here, a book that held the secrets of my kind.I searched the shelves, my heart pou
MELONIE'S POV:As I gazed into his eyes, I felt my entire being melt into a sea of adoration. Every fibre of my existence seemed to vibrate with an intense, all-consuming love.I see why I feel connected to him, he saved me and is still keeping me.Time stood still as I stared, the world around us fading into insignificance. Nothing else mattered, nothing else existed. Only him. His precious soul was worthy of my attention. My heart swelled with emotion, threatening to burst free from my chest. I felt like I was drowning in a sea of devotion, unable to breathe or think. All I could do was feel, and what I felt was an overwhelming, soul-crushing love.As I gazed deeper into his eyes, I saw my own reflection staring back at me. I saw the hopes, the dreams, the fears, and the desires that we shared.“My family is the oldest record-breaking Lycanthropic dragon in the realm, I existed before your mother. My mother warned me about keeping you all to myself, but I just couldn't endure the pa
🥀 MELONIE'S POV 🥀I woke up with a cold pain spreading across every part of my body, I remember the angel telling me I might die from the pain if it was too much to bear, and yes, I agree that I almost died, I don't get why I'm still alive. My spirit is just so stubborn and it wouldn't be dismissed.I looked down at my tummy and noticed a scar, it was the exact spot where I stabbed Alastor, he died and I got a scar from the effect of the pain.I looked around; I wasn't where I collapsed.“How did I get here?” I whispered.“I brought you back,” Bruno's voice sounded behind me.“Come, everyone is waiting for you.”“What about Alastor's body?” I murmured.Bruno walked closer, “I'm sorry Melonie, I couldn't even find his toenail, he disappeared into thin air like he never existed.”“And ASHERA?” I stated.“I hid it somewhere safe,” he responded. “I'm sorry Melonie, you had to kill your own twin brother to save us all; I know it was hard for you.”“Try not to remind me, I'm trying to for
🥀 CLARA'S POV 🥀What a lonely morning after being surrounded by couples all night.Bruno and Othello, Dracula and Lavanya, both couples heartlessly doing rubbish. My eyes hurt from rolling them all night as soon as I see them flirt and my lips hurt from pouting as soon as I see them kiss.I was standing alone in between two couples and it was so frustrating.I got up from bed, not like I got any sleep. As I sat in the quiet stillness of the morning, my mind began to wander to Arlo. Memories of our time together flooded my thoughts, and I couldn't help but smile.I remembered the way he used to make me laugh, the way his eyes would sparkle with mischief when he was teasing me. I remembered the way he would hold my hand, his fingers intertwined with mine in a gentle, loving grasp. As I sat there, lost in thought, I could almost feel his presence around me. I could smell him, and hear the sound of his voice whispering in my ear. It was as if he was right here with me, and my heart swel
🥀 LAVANYA'S POV 🥀The sky above was a brilliant blue, not a cloud in sight. The sun shone brightly, casting a warm glow over the landscape. A gentle breeze rustled through the trees, carrying the sweet scent of blooming flowers. The air was crisp and clean, with a hint of freshness that invigorated the senses. The temperature was just right, neither too hot nor too cold, making it perfect for outdoor activities. As I stepped outside, I felt a sense of joy and upliftment wash over me. The clear sky and good weather seemed to lift my spirits, filling me with a sense of possibility and promise. The world seemed to come alive on days like this, with every colour appearing more vibrant, every sound clearer, and every sensation more intense. It was as if the good weather had awakened a sense of wonder and magic in the world.I took a deep breath, feeling the fresh air fill my lungs, and gazed up at the clear blue sky. It was a moment of pure happiness, a moment to savour and enjoy. And I
🥀 MELONIE'S POV 🥀With a bright light that almost left us blind, Our Alpha Vargus disappeared, alongside Angel Gabriel.Leaving us, broken and lonely.Honestly, I wanted to close my eyes and never wake up, because just when we were almost at the end, things became unbearable. We lost a lot of people on this journey, and I feel like I'm the one to blame. If only I hadn't walked into this world, or maybe if I wasn't too stubborn and had not gone in search of my father if only I hadn't resurrected Arwan or if I hadn't gotten attached to Alastor and killed him when I had the chance rather than praying for a change, things wouldn't have graduated into this.We were mourning too many people, because of me.I walked closer to Clara who crumbled underneath a table weeping.“Clara,” I called softly.“Get away from me,” she retorted, breathing heavily. She hasn't tasted food or water for a while, and I was starting to think she might probably die before Arlo returns.“Arlo would be here soon,
🥀 ALPHA VARGUS’S POV 🥀I doubted my decision, thinking about it, I don’t really want to die, but neither do I want to live my life watching someone I love suffer.“I’ll give my life,” I declared, “Bring Arlo back to life.”The angel chuckled softly, “You don’t really want to die Vargus… look at you, your eyes sparkle with life.”“Just do it,” I retorted.“You cannot be serious Vargus,” Clara snapped, “Who asked you to give your life for his? I might want Arlo alive but I don’t want you dead.”“Are you sure about that?” I asked sadly, “Clara, are you sure you mind me dying for Arlo to come back to life? I never existed to you.”“But that doesn't mean I want you dead,” she cried out, slamming her eyes shut as tears poured, “I might have been too occupied with Arlo finally being with me but that doesn't mean I don't notice that you are around Vargus.”“You have 10 seconds to change your mind, if not the process would begin.” Angel Gabriel declared.I looked back at him with tears-fille
🥀 MELONIE’S POV 🥀 For hours, I was sitting behind the door, it was like there was an invincible force pulling me down. I was just not in the mood for anything. It was day two since what happened to Arwan and it was still so fresh, I should have been angry and filled with energy for revenge but I was weak and lonely, extremely tired of fighting.Soon I began to hear voices but I was determined to not leave the room or fight. It started as a warning that something was happening, and soon it increased.Rather than going out to check, I covered my ears to reduce the noise.I heard Othello screaming and desperately calling Bruno’s name, I heard Lavanya weeping while screaming Dracula’s name, I heard Alpha Vargus’s yells and finally, I heard Clara weeping.“I’m tired of fighting,” I murmured cuddling myself tightly.I heard a loud bang on my door, “Melonie…” Clara screamed, “You have to help us, Alastor is here for Ashera.”I jingled my head, “No, I won’t fight anymore,” I whispered to m
🥀 OTHELLO’S POV 🥀I was restless. Ever since Arwan became a god, I realized things could change at any moment. Anyone could just fall and die, and nobody knew when. The whole fight taught me, that anything can happen anytime, especially when you least expected it. Tragedy doesn’t knock. How I wish I could hide everyone I love in an underground somewhere until all these tragedies pass away. But sometimes, there’s nowhere to hide in this spaceless world.Just like when we lost everyone in our realm, Mrs. Hunter died, when Queen Manon died… I can’t just shake off the feeling that I might be next or maybe even worse, my lover. If Bruno dies, I’m automatically dead.I inhaled anxiously.“Othello,” Bruno called from the entrance of the door, “I’ve been watching you for hours, what are you thinking of?”“Oh it’s – it’s nothing,” I stammered.“I feel the same way too, I can’t help but think of negative things,” he blurted out truthfully, “But everything is going to be fine.”“Bruno, why are
🥀 MELONIE'S POV 🥀We sat in the hall, surrounded by the familiar comforts of home, but the atmosphere was heavy with sadness. Every single member of the family was struggling to come to terms with whatever damn scene was going on.Bruno's eyes cast downward, his shoulders slumped in defeat. Othello sat beside him, his eyes red from crying. He had been struggling to accept that Arwan was now a dragon, a god.Arlo and Clara sat on the floor, their faces sombre. Our usual warmth and laughter were replaced with an uncomfortable silence. No one knew how to lift the gloom that had settled over us. We all felt lost and alone, each struggling to cope with our sorrows. As the evening wore on, the sadness seemed to deepen, filling every corner of the room.I was a shadow of myself, even my shadow was hopeless. For a fact, I was far more dead than the Arwan in question. My eyes, red and puffy from the emotional release, felt heavy and tired. The sobs that had wracked my body had finally sub
🥀 MELONIE’S POV 🥀Beaten, battered, wounded, half dead, that was the condition of everyone fighting the demons that refused to die or reduce, the harder they fought, the more complicated things got.Alastor froze in one spot as Arwan snatched Ashera from him, and I stood there, devastated.Everywhere went dark, and the loud sound of thunder pierced the realm. The moon cast its silvery glow over the realm, and Arwan stood at the centre of it all.As the dark clouds gathered, a faint whisper of wind began to stir around him. The air was alive with electricity, and the wind howled with a voice that was both fierce and beautiful. It whipped his hair into a frenzy; his clothes were torn and buffeted, threatening to rip from his body at any moment.Suddenly, a brilliant flash of lightning illuminated the sky, the sound that followed was like nothing else in nature, another deafening, earth-shaking crash of thunder that seemed to shake the very foundations of the earth.Arwan’s body began
