After the meeting, Venna and Maureen lingered in the office, their nerves still frayed from the tense atmosphere. They turned on the TV, as was their habit, to catch the news and see if anything relevant to the mafia world or their operations was being reported.

The others didn't speak because this was what they were used to doing with women in their mafia. There are only three women in the upper echelon of La Xiena, so they let them do what they want as long as it doesn't harm La Xiena's interests.
