Trust no one

Amethyst just sighed as silence returned around her. After talking with her mother and aunt, Amethyst made sure they were comfortable in their beds and stayed with them until they fell asleep. Because she doesn't want them to see that she is not her and is at ease with what is happening to them now. Even though Amethyst told them not to worry and that she was okay even if they weren't, she knew that those two would worry and still worry. After all, those two are two of the most important people in her life. She didn't want them to see that she was struggling. It's better if they don't know that she is struggling in her life.

The house was quiet and almost made her feel like she's losing her sense of hearing; the only sounds were the gentle breathing of the AC and the occasional creak and tic-tac of the old wooden clock in the room.
