I stood somewhat tall at the age of eight. Dark black hair, pale milky white skin with light emerald green eyes staring out at the fields with a dissatisfied look on my face. “Where are you Josiah?” I huffed and stomped. My little friend was suppose to meet me over an hour ago. I turned and walked in the direction I came when I feel someone pounce on my back and I let out a scream as we go rolling down the hill. I try my best to get the upper hand and tackle him to the ground.

“Haha you should’ve seen your face Rosemary!” “I got you so good.”

“You’re lucky I knew it was you or I’da stomped you flat as a pancake” I exclaim in my deep southern voice dusting off my dress. “Josiah, I didn’t call you here to horse around.” I looked down at my little dirty hands. “They’re taking me away....Tonight. My powers are growing and they said I have to go live with someone who can teach me how to control it.” My eyes began to water as I concentrated on the ground.

“Screw them, you belong here with your people. You’re a werewolf Rosemary.. Just like me. I’ve always known it.” “Who better to figure it out then us?” “So what you have a few extra powers.” Josiah scoffed spitting out a piece of hay from his mouth.

I laughed so hard at the sight of him I nearly fell over then a tinge of pain hit me as I realize this might be the last time I saw him for a while.

“The order has decided Josiah, there’s nothin we can do.”

I was just an orphaned wolf. I was placed in the convent before I opened my eyes. With a birthmark on my left rib in the shape of an eight. The infinity symbol

I looked it up in the library..

For me the only love I felt in the world was from my best friend Josiah whom I was being forced to leave. The hurt was overwhelming me and with the fasted reflex that I could muster, I leaned forward and kissed him on his cheek and turned to run. Looking back to see him holding his face in shock and sadness. I could hear his young voice cracking as he yelled “Rosemary! I’ll find you!......I WILL”

When I opened the doors to the chapel the nuns were waiting for me. All five sat at a long table as they scowled just by my presence. My few short years of life they treated me as though I were an insect or I vile bacteria growing and threatening there existence. When last night they heard my screams and entered my tiny closet of a room. Their theory was justified when they saw blue fire bursting from my palms. They knew I was to be a werewolf but it was unheard of for my kind to display extra powers. Not just unheard of but simply and extremely dangerous.

“You’re holiness “ I bowed and curtsied as Mother Francine stood.

“Rosemary, as we explained to you earlier it is a danger to us and all those around us for you to stay. We have arranged for someone to take you. We have spoken to the werewolf council and in keeping us in allegiance against our sworn enemy they too think it’s best if you begin training with someone who possesses much skill in unknown...... gifts.” I couldn’t help but notice her saying gifts in what sounded like disgust.

“The council believes that you may be a great weapon for us against the Evil one.”

“That is.... if you are capable” she lifts her brawl as if to measure me up and show her doubtful gaze.

“As you wish...” I courtesy. I turned to leave them and as I opened to doors I saw a rather old coach with iron bars on the sides waiting for me. The man that stood there opening the door terrified me. This was much to much for a young girl at the age of eight could handle. Terrified, I turn and ran, but before I made it to far, a strong hand wearing leather gloves grabbed me and through me in. As my fear rose my hands began to flash blue and before the flames could erupt I felt a sharp needle in my neck and everything went black. Before the darkness overtook me I saw Josiah’s smiling face as we chased each other through the field like so many times before, in the light of our youth. I knew from this moment, those days for me were over. I was never going to be the same.
