Chapter four - Getting used to her new job

     

 The next morning of the second day, Katrina opened her eyes and closed them immediately. The sun rays affected her eyes, she drew her curtain to stop it from coming on. Then she sat up on her bed and looked around, for a moment she forgot where she was.

 Then everything came flashing back, she remembered yesterday's event. She remembered she was at the house of the mighty and popular billionaire and she had just got here yesterday. She still can't believe that she's here, that this room is hers.

   She remembered coming across Eric's ads in search of a house maid back in sweet grass. She had applied and here she was. When she got accepted she was really happy, what's a better way of getting her revenge other than this?

But then why her?? This question keeps popping up in her head. She's very sure she wasn't the only one that applied but was why she was chosen? Is this fate? If only he knows that she has an ulterior motive.

  Forcing herself out of the bed, she walked into the bathroom to pee and brushed her mouth. Coming out from the bathroom minutes later, she walked straight to the big dressing mirror and stared at herself in the mirror. 

  Eric had called her unattractive last night, was this true?

All her life, guys had been after her calling her sexy and pretty. Why was Eric different?? Or maybe she wasn't just his type? She had noticed that the two women who came here last night were fully endowed with both boobs and ass. She stared at her medium sized boobs and ass and sighed.

 Her eyes darted to the wall clock and she saw the time.

"Holy shit" she exclaimed.

She wasn't conscious of the time and now it's almost 10:00am. She should have been up by 7:00am to prepare breakfast for Eric. He must be prepared to leave for work by now.

 She left her room and hurried down the stairs. She saw Eric in the sitting room fully dressed, just as she thought. He must have been waiting for her because on seeing her he started clapping his hands mockingly.

"Oh yeah, the queen is finally awake," he said mockingly.

"I'm sorry I woke up late" Katrina apologized.

"You're always sorry," he replied.

"Do you do anything right?" he asked.

"It won't repeat itself again," Katrina replied briefly.

  Eric studied her, she was looking sexy as hell in her sexy night wear. He diverted his attention from her body.

"I'm only forgiving you because there are no foodstuffs in the house for you to make me breakfast." he said.

"Over there is some money" he said pointing to the money on the dining table. "Go with Alvin to the market and get all the necessary stuff you need" 

 Without saying another word to her, he took his briefcase and left for work. Katrina heard the opening of the gate sound and a car driving out.

"Thank God he's gone," she said.

She went over to the dining table and took the money, it was huge. That feeling of having all this money to yourself but she can't relate because she was born in a poor home. 

  Katrina entered the kitchen. The kitchen, like the other part of the house, was looking superb and spacious. She loves the cooking table the most. She glanced towards the sink and saw unwashed plates stacked in the kitchen sink. She wondered who used all these plates without washing them.

Mr Eric is really dirty!!

"Can't those women that do come around help out? or are they just good in sex only??" she asked herself. She started washing the plates, soon she was through with washing it and rinsed it then she arranged them properly.

The kitchen sink, walls, and floors were the next on her list to clean. They were very dirty. She set about scrubbing and cleaning and mopping.

An hour later, she was through with keeping the kitchen clean. She stared at the floors, walls and sink. They were shining brightly and she nodded, praising herself for a work well done.

Now it's time for the other rooms in the house. She started cleaning and mopping. By the time she was through with everything, she felt really tired. Her back was stiff from working too much. Her clothes were soaked with her own heat. She sat back on the couch to rest a little before she continued again.

  Alvin opened the door and came in. He was surprised to see the house so neat and sparkling.

"Wow Katrina, you really did a great job here " he said.

"Thank you, " she replied, smiling. She liked how humble and friendly and nice he was, unlike her boss.

"I like neat women like you. The other women boss brought in were so lazy, they don't know how to cook or keep a house clean. I hope you can cook?? " he asked.

"Sure. I really love cooking and baking, I love knitting and sowing " she replied. These were things she learnt from her sweet mom.

"That's nice, " he said, nodding his head and smiling.

"Why did you come in, I thought you said you don't like leaving your duty post?? " Katrina asked.

"Boss asked me to bring out all his dirty clothes from his room and put it in a basket in front of his door. The dry cleaner would come over soon " he replied.

"Oh.. Okay " she replied.

"He asked me to drive you to the market, " he said.

" Yeah. I will let you know when I'm ready " Kat replied.

"Okay, let me bring out his dirty clothes and let me leave you to continue with your work, you really did a great job here, keep it up " Alvin said and left for Eric's room.

Katrina rounded up her cleaning. Alvin came out minutes later and left for his duty post.

She climbed the stairs to her room. The dirty clothes in the basket caught her attention and she walked towards it, her boss room was locked.

She checked out the clothes and saw that it wasn't much. She decided to wash it. 

She carried the basket containing the clothes to her bathroom. She put them in a bucket and started to wash it. Soon, she was through with the washing and all and went down to spread the clothes. She used a hanger to hang the clothes to prevent it from folding most especially his work clothes.

While coming out from the backside of the house where she went to hang the clothes, she saw Alvin talking to someone at the gate, an old woman.

 "I guess she's the dry cleaner Alvin was talking about" she said to herself and walked towards them. She greeted the old woman. The woman has a strict face.

"Alvin, is she the dry cleaner? " Kat asked.

"Yes," he replied.

"Let me go get the clothes, " he said to the woman.

"There's no need. I washed it already, " Kat said, surprising both of them.

"You washed your boss 's clothes? " Alvin asked, he was really surprised.

"Yes, is there a problem?? " she asked.

"Boss doesn't allow anyone to wash his clothes except for this woman, he feels she's the only one that could wash it well," Alvin explained.

"What are we going to do now??"Kat asked.

"Umm... Nothing " he replied.

"I'm sorry ma but she washed it already " he said to the woman.

"No problem " she said and took her leave. But before leaving, she gave Katrina a Stern look. Katrina understands the woman and the look, she just spoiled business for her. Katrina wondered how much she's been paid for washing her boss clothes.

She went back to the house still wondering why Alvin was so surprised. It's time to take her bath and she was feeling hungry already.

She took her bath, and dressed in a black jeans and white top. Coming down to the sitting room and walking to the dining table, she took the money Eric gave her. She came out of the house and locked the door, walking towards the gate to tell Alvin that she was ready. He changed his clothes, went to one of the parked cars and drove it out of the compound. 

Katrina tried closing the gate after he drove out of the compound but he beat her to it by coming down swiftly from the car and rushing to close the gate. He's so passionate about his job but she wondered why a handsome young guy is working as a gateman here instead of searching for greener pastures. He seems intelligent too.

They entered the car and he drove off. 

They got to the market and Katrina bought all the foodstuffs she needed including flour and other baking ingredients. She bought other stuff at the shopping mall too. The money Eric gave her was more than enough.

  

They got home and Katrina hurriedly prepared lunch, she was really hungry. After cooking, she served Alvin his food, he ate the food hurriedly, he was hungry too. She sat beside him while he ate, hoping to know him more and hoping to know more about her boss from him.

"Wow, you're a great cook" he said licking his lips playfully.

"I told you I can cook," Kat said, feeling proud of herself.

"That's true," he replied.

"So tell me, why do you work here? I mean you must have seen better opportunities" Katrina said. He smiled.

"It was hard for me to get a job after I graduated. I had no choice but to come here and now I don't want to leave even though I know I might see better opportunities. I love it here, the pay is high and I love my boss." he explained.

"You love Mr Eric?" Katrina asked, surprised.

"Yes, he's really nice," he replied.

"You wished" Kat replied and scoffed.

Alvin laughed out loud. 

"With time, you'd get to Know him," he said.

They talked for a while conversing on different topics before Katrina excused herself saying she has chores to do inside and thanking him for his company. She left him to wash the plates they used.

The day ran fast and soon it was Six O'clock. Katrina came out of the main and walked to where she spread Eric's clothes. All the clothes were dried already. 

She took them in and kept on a chair in the sitting room as his room was still locked. Then she remembered that Alvin has the key to the room so she went out to call him so she could keep them in his room.

 He answered her call and opened his room. 

Katrina dropped all the clothes on 

her boss's bed. The image of Eric caught in his bed with his girl last night came to her mind and she held herself back from laughing. It was really funny.

She came out from his room, Alvin locked the door and went back to his duty post while she went back to her room, sat on her bed and began reading a novel on her phone.

Thirty minutes later, she heard the blaring of a car horn.

He's back!! Her mean boss is back!!!
