Chapter five - The clothes misunderstanding.

   

Eric drove into the compound, parked the car and came down. As usual, Alvin was waiting to collect his briefcase after closing the gate. He collected his briefcase and they walked towards the main house.

Katrina came downstairs to welcome him. She was already waiting for them in the sitting room.

The door opened and they came in.

"Good evening Sir" she greeted.

"Evening, " he replied.

He paused and noticed a new change in the house. Everywhere was sparkling neat, the house smelled nice and he knew she did all of that. He wanted to commend her but he didn't.

"Did the dry cleaner come to pick up the clothes?? " he asked Alvin.

"She came but she didn't go with the clothes, " Alvin replied.

"Why? " he asked.

"Katrina washed the clothes before she could come, " Alvin replied.

Eric looked at Katrina with a shocked expression.

"You did what???? " he screamed.

"I washed your clothes Sir. Is anything the matter?" she asked.

"You dare to touch my clothes with those hands of yours?" he asked, raising his voice.

"Do you know how much those clothes are worth? Damn it! I'm sure you must have ruined it" he said angrily.

He started up the stairs running- walking and almost tripped. Katrina held back a laugh and wished he would fall.

"I won't take it lightly with you if those clothes get ruined, I'll make sure you pay every dime and then have you fired" he threatened and disappeared into his room.

Katrina was frightened by this threat. She was sure she washed them well but Eric might find fault in them just to wicked her.

"God please, let him be satisfied with the clothes. I have no money to pay anyone" she prayed inwardly.

"You're praying?" Alvin said teasingly. He was still there with her, watching everything.

Katrina popped her eyes open, she didn't realize she was closing her eyes.

"I'm scared," she confided.

"Don't be, I know you washed them well. 

But what I don't understand is why the boss is being so harsh on you? Did something to him?" Alvin asked.

Katrina shook her head, she can't start explaining what happened last night to him.

 Eric opened his room in a haste, he saw the clothes kept properly on his bed. He went closer to his bed and his eyes widened when he saw the clothes on the bed. They were all very clean, very very neat.

"Wow" he said. Katrina was the first lady to wash his clothes and wash it well apart from his personal dry cleaner.

"She's really hard working," he said, remembering how the house was sparkling when he came in.

He felt bad for talking that way to her. He really needs to apologise to her.

Damn it!!

 Apologizing was not his thing but this was something he must do.

"You dare touch my clothes with those hands of yours" he remembered his own words and cringed.

Coming out of his room, he locked his door and went downstairs, making up his mind to apologise to her.

 Katrina saw him coming down the stairs and her heartbeat became faster. Those clothes cost a lot and she doesn't have such an amount of money to pay him back.

"God help me!" she said inwardly.

"You're sure you washed those clothes yourself? " he asked.

Katrina noticed he was cool now and she relaxed a bit.

"Yes Sir " she replied.

"Okay " he said.

"You can go now, " he said to Alvin.

"Okay boss, " Alvin replied, bowing a little before leaving.

"Thank you, " he said.

"Wait, did he just thank me??"Katrina asked herself.

 Eric felt weird saying thanks to her but she deserves it. To cover up his weird feeling, he started climbing the stairs up to his room but paused on a second thought.

"And I'm sorry for talking that way " he said then walked hurriedly to his room. He doesn't think he has ever apologized to anyone before except his parents.

Katrina was speechless. She was dumbfounded.

Did the almighty Eric just apologize??

"Woah, I think I need to clean my ears. I don't think I heard him well." She said to herself still in shock.

 Eric came out again, he saw her still standing in the sitting room with surprise written all over her face.

"Stop standing here, go and start preparing dinner, I'm really hungry " he said.

"Okay Sir " she replied, coming back to her senses and hurried away to the kitchen.

She got to the kitchen and brought out her cooking materials. She loves cooking and she has more than enough ingredients and utensils to carry out this action.

She didn't know what to prepare, so she decided to make bacon. She began cooking.

Soon she was done, the bacon was ready and the whole house smelled of Bacon. Eric could perceive the smell from his room. He just prayed that the food would taste nice.

 Katrina scooped the bacon onto a glass plate. She went to the dinning table to set the table before bringing in the plate of bacon. She brought some orange juice too.

After setting the table, she went up to her boss' room to call him, he came down after a while looking refreshed.

 He had his bath already, he was wearing his pajamas.

He walked to the dining table and sat down.

"I thought you're gonna make soup," he said.

"You said you were hungry so I fixed something light and easy, " Kat replied.

"Okay" he said.

He started eating, a few minutes into the meal he started nodding his head unconsciously. Katrina saw him nod his head in approval but he didn't say a word to her to commend her about the meal.

There was a knock on the door and she went to check who it was.

It was Molly! The same lady that left angrily last night.

Why's she here??

"Does she come here every night?" Kat asked herself.

"Good evening, " Kat greeted.

"Evening " Molly replied before walking past her. She saw Eric eating and walked towards him.

"Hey Eric, " she said.

"Hi Molly, why are you here?? " he asked.

My boss asked the same question I was asking myself.

"Who cooked? " she asked, not answering his question.

"She did, " Eric said, pointing to Katrina. 

 Katrina felt she needed to excuse them so she bowed slightly to her boss, excused herself and went into the kitchen to clean things up. She could still hear their discussion from the kitchen as Molly was unnecessarily loud.

"I want to apologize, " Molly started.

"It's alright, " Eric replied.

Wow, why's she apologizing?? 

Eric is the one at fault here. He was caught in bed with another woman and Molly was the one apologizing??

"Wonders shall never end," Katrina said, scoffing.

She wondered what kind of charm he's using on women.

 Peeping from the kitchen as they suddenly became quiet, she saw them stood up, then Eric was kissing Molly.

"Come here baby, come and show me what you've got" her boss said with flirty eyes.

"With all pleasure," Molly replied.

They climbed the stairs and went up to his room. Katrina shook her head wondering what kind of woman Molly was. She came out of the kitchen and went to the dinning table to clear the table and pack the used plates to the kitchen. She noticed her boss finished his meal. She was feeling tired already so she needed to do the dishes quickly and retire to bed. 

After she was done with everything she was doing in the kitchen, she decided to go back to her room. On her way to her room, she heard loud moans from her boss.

"What kind of oppression is this?" she asked herself.

 Molly was really easy, if it were to be her, she would have acted stubborn a little and not just allowing him have sex with her after what happened last night.

"Well, that's her business" she said, opened her room's door and entered her room.

Time to take her bath!!

She went into the bathroom, pulled her clothes and took her bath. She came out of the bathroom afterwards feeling refreshed. She dried her body, applied her cream before putting on her night robe to retire to bed. Climbing her bed, she drew the blankets to her body and slept off.
