Chapter 12- Attempted kiss

   

Katrina got carried away with her dancing that she didn't realize Eric was watching her.

She got startled when she heard his voice and she stopped dancing immediately.

"No don't stop. I love it" he said.

"Uhmm... I'm sorry Sir, I got carried away " she apologized.

"No it's fine. I enjoyed watching you dance " he replied.

"Really? " Kat asked.

"Yeah... Teach me how to dance " he said teasingly.

"What?? " Katrina asked surprised.

"I'm serious " he said laughing at her facial expression.

"I'm not a good teacher " she replied laughing.

"Hmmm"

"Yes Sir " she replied.

"So tell me, what else do you know how to do?? I know for a fact that you can cook, clean, dance, bake. Are there more?? " he asked, folding his arms on his chest.

"Well, I can wash, I love sewing, I can knit. I think that's all" Kat replied.

"Wow, your future husband is really going to be lucky. His wife would know how to do lots of things " he said.

"Thank you. At least my husband won't have to waste his money hiring a dry cleaner to wash his clothes " Katrina replied teasingly.

"Huh??... Are you refering to me? " he asked feigning a frown. "Trying to mock me right now?"

"No Sir, I was just saying " she replied laughing.

"Better. I still prefer dry cleaners to wash my clothes " Eric said.

"Okay Sir " Katrina replied.

"By the way, what are you cooking?? It smells nice " he said.

"Ooh, i'm preparing beef with horseradish " she replied.

"Hmmm.. I'm sure it's going to be tasty. " he said.

"I'm almost through. I'm going to serve you soon, just control your throat a little bit" Katrina said, winking at him and flashing a smile.

"You're not serious" He said laughing. "Okay then, let me leave you to concentrate " he said and left the kitchen.

 They sat in the dinning table eating their food in silence. Eric had asked Katrina to eat with him and she agreed.

"The food is tasty" he said. He commended her openly for the first time.

"Thank you" Katrina replied smiling, she was glad he liked the food.

"Why haven't you invited Alvin over to eat with us?" Kat asked.

"I have done that plenty times, he never accepted. Alvin is the shy type and he's not really the social type " Eric replied.

"I noticed " Kat agreed with him.

"He prefers staying in his room watching Tv or sleeping when he's not at the gate than making friends " Eric added.

"There's a TV in his room? " Kat asked surprised.

"Yeahh.." he replied.

"Ooh... Nice " Katrina said nodding her head. No wonder Alvin was glued to his duty post. Eric really tried, he made Alvin's job very comfortable for him.

"What are you doing after the meal? " he asked.

"Just to wash the plates, then operate my phone " she replied.

"Wanna join me at the pool? " he asked.

"Ooh... Okay " she replied.

 They were done eating and she took the plates to kitchen and washed them.

 When she was done, she went to pool. He was there already so she joined him. They sat down dipping their legs into the water and enjoying the cool breeze.

"You're being so nice these days" Katrina said. Eric's sudden change of behavior towards has been on her mind. She wanted to know the reason why he was being so nice.

"My mum asked me to act friendly towards you " he replied truthfully. But that wasn't the main reason. He was starting to like her.

"So you're not doing it out of your own will?? " Kat asked surprised.

"Yes " he replied in a proud tone.

"Liar" she said laughing and stuck out her tongue.

"You're the stubborn type. You won't be nice towards me just because your mom asked you to. You did it out of your own will " she said.

"Whatever " he replied. She was right so he didn't want to argue it with her.

"And how's Molly.. She stopped coming here, why?? " Katrina asked.

"She's out of the country. She travelled, would be back soon " he replied.

"I see" 

"What about Helen? " She asked.

Katrina wondered why she was asking about them. She was prying into his affairs, she was expecting Eric to ignore her and her question, but surprisingly, he answered her.

"I stopped all my women from coming to my house except Molly because i have no choice. We do meet in a hotel" he replied.

"Wow, does those ladies know you have tons of women after them, that they're not the only one? "Kat asked further.

He gave a short laugh.

"They are aware but they can't resist me. I'm good looking and have a manly stature, plus I'm wealthy " he replied bragging.

"You're manly?? " She asked laughing.

"Of course, can't you see it?? I was manly right from birth, I was bigger than most of my mates back then in kindergarten " he bragged.

"Oh really " Katrina said laughing hard.

"Yes" he replied.

"Why are you laughing??" He asked. 

"Well, what do you say about this?? " Katrina said unlocking her phone and showing him a pics of when he was still little.

"Wait... What??... How come you have this pics? " he asked. He was bewildered.

"Your mom sent it to me. Manly my ass!, I couldn't differentiate you from a girl " Katrina replied teasing him.

"Or this, when your mom wore you a gown... You looked exactly like a girl" she said still laughing.

"Delete those pics " he said. He was also laughing too.

"I won't " she replied.

"I think I'm going to upload these on social media and I'll make sure people know it's you" she threatened. "Or what do you think?" She teased again.

"That won't happen. Give me that phone " Eric said and tried to collect the phone from Katrina.

  Katrina stood up and started running, Eric followed suit. He chased her around.

After running round for a while, Katrina got tired and stopped running. Eric caught up with her panting hard.

"Delete those pics " he said still panting.

"You know you can't run long, you shouldn't have started what you can't finish" he said to her.

"No, I'm not deleting it" Kat replied laughing.

Eric started to tickle her in her ribs, she was laughing hard now.

"Stop it" she screamed.

"I won't stop till you delete those pictures " he said, he was laughing too.

"Stop it please, I don't like it" I pleaded.

He kept on tickling her as she refused to delete the pictures.

 Katrina started to run again but Eric drew her back and turned her to him. Their faces was very close now and they stared at each other. They were no longer laughing.

Then Katrina saw him bend his head to kiss her and her eyes widened in shock.
