Chapter 14- The dinner party

   

Katrina walked to her room in anger.

Gosh, she was really angry right now. She felt like punching someone.

  Eric's so arrogant. She was thinking he's a changed person but she was clearly mistaken. Then she remembered the happy moments and tears dropped out of her eyes. She started sobbing.

"He's just too cruel!!!" She screamed.

"Okay Katrina, no more tears for that arrogant pig " she said to herself.

But wait, why was she crying??

  Katrina stood up and walked over to the dressing mirror. She stared at herself in the mirror still wondering why she cried.

"Just admit it, you miss him" her inner voice said.

"No way" Katrina corrected immediately.

 She dried her face and went downstairs.

Eric was no longer there. The used plates was still on the dinning table. She packed the plates to the kitchen and washed them, then she went up to her room to take her bathe after washing the plates. After taking her bathe, she wore her night robe.

She wasn't feeling sleepy and she felt like going to the pool but Eric asked her not to come there whenever he's around.

Well, she doesn't think he's there right now. He might be in his room because she didn't hear him opening the outside door.

"Let me just go check, if he's there, I would turn back." Katrina said. She wore her floppy slippers, opened the door and walked out of her room. She headed to the pool.

  Katrina was almost at the pool when she saw a figure sitting by the pool side. It was Eric!!

Thank God he didn't see me, she quickly turned back and retraced her steps back to the house.

  Eric was sitting by the pool side when he saw an approaching figure. It was Katrina.

He saw her turn back immediately and walked fast to the main house, she almost ran. He wanted to call her back but he decided to let her go.

  Katrina went back to her room and sat on the bed. She would just watch the moon from her room instead. She moved closer to the window and opened the curtain. Cool breeze came in.

She sat comfortably on the bed and looked at the moon. The moon was beautiful tonight. She picked her phone, went to her music list and played a song.

The song kept playing while she kept watching the moon with different thoughts running through her mind.

  She felt sleepy so she stopped the music, closed the curtains, laid back on her bed and drew her blankets to herself and slept off.

*Next morning *

  Katrina woke up, brushed her teeth and went down to the kitchen to prepare Eric's breakfast.

She arranged the dinning table after she was done cooking, then she kept his meal on the dinning table and went up to her room before he could come down. Her usual way of avoiding him.

Katrina stayed up in her room till she heard Alvin opening the gates and Eric driving off. When she was sure Eric was gone, she came down and did her usual chores. She took her bathe after she was done and came down to watch TV. Katrina was engrossed in an interesting program when she heard a knock on the door.

She stood up and went to open the door. Katrina saw a young lady standing at the door holding a bag.

"Good morning ma" the lady greeted.

"Morning. Who are you looking for? " Katrina asked.

"I'm looking for Miss Katrina Argos " the lady replied.

"I'm the one" Kat said.

"Mrs Samaldiego asked me to give these to you" the lady said raising the bag up.

"Eric's mom? " Katrina asked to be sure.

"Yes mam" the lady replied.

"Ooh, okay " Katrina said.

"You have to sign these first " she said bringing out a book and pen. Katrina signed and the lady gave the bag to her.

"I would take my leave now " she said.

"Okay thanks " Katrina replied and closed the door after the lady left.

  Katrina walked back to the sitting room and peeped into the bag. The first thing she saw was a beautiful red high heel shoes and a fancy bag.

Wow!!!

She quickly brought it out of the bag. Then she saw a very beautiful red dinner gown.

"Omg" she screamed.

A note fell out from the bag and she picked it up and read it.

This is my treat to you. Wear this to the dinner party tomorrow darling.

Mrs samaldiego 

 Katrina was overwhelmed.

"This is beautiful " she screamed.

She quickly ran to her room to put them on. They fitted well and oh my, she was looking like a goddess.

She picked up her phone and dialed Eric's mom number but she wasn't picking. Katrina can't wait to thank her for these. She removed the clothes and shoe and kept them in a safe place. She was so happy right now.

She went back to the sitting room to continue watching TV. Hours later, she got tired and decided to go chat Alvin up.

*SATURDAY *

  The D-day came. Eric came back from work early today by five pm to prepare for the dinner party.

Katrina was also preparing too. She took her bathe, she came out of the bathroom after she was done, dried her body and applied her body cream. She brought out a black lacy bra and panties and put them on. Then she wore her black tight.

She walked to where she kept her gown and took it. She wore it too, it looked so beautiful on her.

Now it's time for her face. She sat down on a seat near the dressing mirror. Katrina always tied her hair up but she decided to lose it tonight. She decided to let it free. She lose it and her long beautiful brown hair fell to her shoulders and back. She took a brush and brushed it.

She applied little makeup too. By the time she was done with the make over, she was looking so pretty and she felt proud of herself.

She wore the red shoes and took the fancy red bag. She was ready to go. She waited till she heard Eric leave his room before going down.

  Eric was waiting for her. He's putting on a white and black suit and he looks so handsome.

Eric watched Katrina come down the stairs and he was speechless.

My God!, she's looking so beautiful tonight. Beautiful and sexy. When she was almost near, he looked away and pretended she didn't affect him.

"Ready? "He asked her when she got to him.

"Yes sir" she replied and he nodded. They walked to the door, she opened the door and they walked out.

They entered the car and she drove off. They were both silent in the car.

  Katrina and Eric got there an hour later. Eric wasn't expecting what he saw. Journalists and reporters crowded the entrance. They were waiting for him.

He wondered who told them that he would be here today. Then the answer came to his head.

"Damn it mom!! " He said frustrated.

He parked his car in a safe place, the reporters, journalist and fan ran to where Eric parked his car.

"Listen Katrina, I want you to drop all formalities for tonight. You're going to act like you are my woman. I wasn't expecting the reporters and all" Eric instructed.

"I don't want to" Katrina replied stubbornly.

"Look, this is not the time to argue. You're going to sit in here while I come out of the car and walk around to open the door for you. Then you are going to hold my arm and we are going to walk in together. Understand? " Eric said.

"Okay" she replied.

"They're too many. I wonder how I'm going to pass through " Eric said looking around.

He picked his phone and dialed his mom's number, she picked instantly.

"Darling, I know you're here already judging from the commotion outside " his mom said.

"Mom why this?.. How am I going to pass through? " Eric asked.

"Don't worry, can you see three hefty guys walking towards you??... They're your bodyguards you rejected, I brought them along "his mom said laughing.

"Mom" Eric called.

"You see why bodyguards are needed. I don't know why you don't like going about with bodyguards but from today they're going to start staying with you every time. I would talk to your dad about it. Come on in son, I'm waiting " she said and ended the call.

"This is crazy" Eric screamed.

One of the bodyguard opened the door. Katrina and Eric stepped out.

Katrina watched how people struggled to come close to him.

"It's Mr Eric " the reporters screamed.

And then there were flashes of camera lights that Katrina almost went blind.

  Katrina put her hand in Eric's arm as he suggested and they began to walk in. The reporters blocked their way but the bodyguards stepped in and pushed everyone back stopping the reporters from coming close to them.

"Mr Eric, who's she? " a reporter asked.

"Is she your girlfriend? " another one asked.

"Mr Eric, can you say something to us please? " another one said.

They kept taking pictures of Katrina and Eric as they walked and Katrina was more than glad when they entered the hall.
